"Nick, if you trust me, what I say matters. If you don't, then it doesn't," Nathan said.
"Of course I trust you, Nathan. But you need to consider my feelings. You can't just tell me to marry or not marry someone and expect me to follow without question. That's not fair!" Nick shouted.
"Caroline refuses to sign a prenuptial agreement. Do you think you can agree to that?"
Nick was stunned for a moment. "Did she say that herself?"
"Yes," Nathan nodded.
"She actually thought about the prenuptial agreement?" Nick said, eyes wide with disbelief.
"So she's very cunning. Don't underestimate her." Nathan felt relieved to finally have a reason to call off the wedding. And it was that Caroline brought it up herself, making it more convincing.
"I can convince her. A prenuptial agreement isn't just about my assets; it involves the family's interests too. It's not just between us; it's bigger than that," Nick said, still unwilling to give up.
"Do you think you can persuade her?" Nathan asked coldly.
"Yes. She's just straightforward and doesn't bother with the details."
"And she said if you get married, you can't divorce for fifty years. If you do, she wants two-thirds of your assets. Can you agree to that?"
"I can." Nick answered without hesitation, leaving Nathan stunned.
"You agree to such a lifelong marriage condition?"
"Of course. If I'm going to marry her, it's to spend my whole life with her. We already have kids together. Do you really think I'd divorce her and make my kids deal with a stepmom? I'm not perfect, but I know right from wrong. What I did before we got married doesn't matter, but once I'm married, divorce isn't an option. So, this condition means nothing to me."Nick continued, ignoring Nathan's confusion.
Nick was a well-known wealthy heir in Aurora City, often seen with numerous actresses and socialites.
So Nathan didn't expect Nick to say something so devoted.
Nathan was dumbfounded; he thought Caroline's two conditions would infuriate Nick, but Nick didn't see them as a problem at all!
Did he have to bring up Caroline's affairs with other men to convince Nick?
"Then talk to her first." Nathan suddenly felt irritated. He hadn't expected to handle this and end up in this mess!
"Nathan, I hope to get your blessing. You're the closest person to me, and I hope you can consider things from my perspective," Nick said, standing up.
Nathan nodded, suddenly feeling like a failure. He realized he had lost to Caroline and Nick's trust in him had diminished.
In the afternoon, Nick appeared at the kindergarten gate.
Sophie ran over quickly, calling out "Daddy" in her sweet voice.
Ryan walked over slowly, observing quietly to make sure it was the real daddy and not Nathan pretending.
"Sophie, I missed you so much. How have you been?" Nick lifted Sophie high up.
"Daddy, didn't we just see each other? You missed me already?"
"I just got back. When did we just see each other?" Nick was puzzled.
Ryan sensed trouble. If this conversation continued, Nathan's secret would be exposed!
"Daddy, what are we eating today?" Ryan quickly changed the subject.
"We'll pick up your mommy first, and then decide what to eat," Nick said.
"Yay," Sophie clapped and laughed.
Half an hour later, Nick's car arrived outside the film set.
Nick walked into the set, holding a child in each hand.
"Mr. Nathan Kennedy is here!" The crew quickly notified William, and everyone stopped working to come out and greet him.
"Nathan's in the black suit, I'm in the white one. Get it right!" Nick shouted impatiently.
But their dressing habits were known only to the Kennedy Family and a small segment of high society in Aurora City.So most people mistook Nick for Nathan.
Nick usually didn't bother to explain, but today he didn't want to be misunderstood, especially since he was going to marry Caroline.
"I'm Nick. " Nick said.
"Oh, it's Mr. Nick Kennedy. Welcome! Please forgive our mistake," a subordinate said.
After all, Nick was important too.
Nick waved his hand. "Let's be real!Where's my darling?"
"Your darling?" William was confused.
"My darling is Demi. Where is she? I'm here to take her home," Nick said.
"She's filming inside."
"Not today. I'm taking her home. She can film another day. Our family is reuniting today." Nick wasn't as domineering as Nathan, but he was still assertive. After all, his status made it hard not to be arrogant.
"Darling!" Nick shouted as he walked inside, and no one dared to stop him.
Caroline was filming when she suddenly heard someone calling "darling" loudly. She didn't realize it was for her.
Although she had kids, Caroline had never really dated seriously.
So she was unfamiliar with the term "darling" and couldn't associate it with herself.
Until she heard Sophie's sweet voice, "Mommy."
"It seems my child is calling me. I'll go check." Caroline, dressed in her costume, walked out.
Today, Caroline wore a purple dress that highlighted her curves, and Nick couldn't help but stare.
Then he took out his phone to take pictures.
Taking pictures inside the set was not allowed because the photos could leak out.
Only the official crew had the right to release photos, and all other staff had signed confidentiality agreements. If photos leaked, they would be legally responsible.
Caroline understood this rule, so she quickly stopped him. "You can't take pictures here!"
"You look so beautiful. Why can't I take a picture? Not only will I take a picture, but I'll also post it on Facebook." Nick continued taking pictures with his phone.
"You really can't. We have rules," Caroline said urgently.
As the lead actress, she would be responsible if photos leaked, so she had to stop Nick's unreasonable behavior.
Moreover, she was very annoyed with Nick because he had left her stranded in the wilderness. She wouldn't forgive him easily.
Because of things Nick didn't know, she looked at him with disgust.
Nick could sense Caroline's irritation. Thinking his behavior had truly angered her, he put away his phone. "Alright, I won't take pictures. Why are you so angry?"
