Chapter 77

Caroline shrugged. "I really haven't seen it."

She wasn't the type to hang out in flower shops or rose gardens, so she never had the chance to see something like that.

Roxanne's grin widened. "Do you know who these flowers are for?"

Caroline shook her head. "Nope, and I don't really care."

To Caroline, the set turning into a flower jungle was just a hassle and a delay. She couldn't see the point.

Roxanne sneered, "Not interested? You're just jealous."

Caroline gave a half-smile. "Roxanne, you got it wrong. Why would I be jealous? They mean nothing to me."

"You're so shallow. People like you will never get the deeper meaning of roses," Roxanne mocked.

"Yeah, I don't get it, so why would I be jealous?" Caroline shot back.

"You're jealous because you'll never get a gift like this. No one will ever send you this many flowers. What else can you do but be jealous?" Roxanne's sneer deepened.

"Roxanne, you're giving her too much credit. Who would send her flowers, let alone this many?" Megan chimed in.

The crew, full of suck-ups, quickly jumped in to praise Roxanne and put down Caroline.

"Right, compared to Roxanne, Demi's a nobody. They're not even in the same league!"

"Demi isn't fit to tie Roxanne's shoes!"

After all, Roxanne was a big star and Nathan's girlfriend, while Caroline was just a nobody.

Roxanne's smile grew even smugger as she secretly wished Sawyer was there to see this.

The flowers were finally all moved in, and a guy from the trucks came over for a signature. "Who can sign for this delivery?"

Roxanne stood there, expecting the pen and paper to be brought to her.

"Are you Ms. Murphy? You're so beautiful, the flowers match your beauty perfectly," the guy tried to flatter Roxanne.

Suddenly, everything went dead silent.

"Are you sure? This is Roxanne, a superstar! The woman you mentioned is just a nobody!" Megan snapped.

The guy looked confused. "You're not Ms. Murphy? But the receipt says it needs Ms. Murphy's signature."

Everyone was stunned. So this sea of flowers wasn't for Roxanne but for Demi?

How could that be? Roxanne was the star, and Demi was just a nobody. Who would give Demi such a grand gesture?

"Did you mess up? Are you an idiot? These flowers are obviously for Roxanne!" Megan yelled.

The guy, looking flustered, double-checked the order.

"No mistake, these flowers are for Ms. Murphy. Who is Ms. Murphy?" he asked loudly.

Caroline was nearby, half in doubt.

She didn't dare to speak up, finding it hard to believe someone would spend so much on her.

Why didn't the sender just give her the money instead? This was such a waste!

"Are you sure these flowers are for Ms. Murphy?" Sarah asked, incredulous.

"Yes, the sender specifically requested Ms. Murphy's signature," the guy confirmed.

Sarah nudged the stunned Caroline. "The flowers are for you!"

Caroline was still half in doubt.

Sarah got excited first. "Here she is, she's Ms. Murphy! I'm her agent!"

The staff member quickly approached, "Are you Ms. Murphy?"

"Yeah, who sent the flowers?" Caroline asked, puzzled.

"The client requested confidentiality, we can't disclose that," the guy explained.

Caroline looked confused, never having experienced anything like this before.

"Please sign here. You are really naturally beautiful," the guy complimented her in a low voice.

The guy had thought Roxanne was beautiful, but upon meeting Caroline, realized that there were levels of beauty, and Caroline's beauty was clearly superior.

Caroline hesitated for a moment but eventually signed her name.

"Thank you, enjoy the flowers," the guy said politely.

Watching the flower-laden vehicle drive away and then looking at the sea of flowers, Roxanne felt she was almost drowning in anger.

Roxanne had thought she was the center of attention, but it turned out the sea of flowers was for Caroline!

If it had been someone else, Roxanne might not have been so furious, but it was Caroline, which made it unbearable!

"What's going on? This is a film set, not a flower market. William, can you tolerate such a disruption? Aren't you going to do something?" Roxanne questioned William.

William felt a headache coming on. He had planned to use the flowers to shoot a scene that required a sea of flowers, but since the flowers weren't for Roxanne, he faced Roxanne's barrage of questions. What should he do?

"Roxanne, these flowers can actually be useful. We have a scene that needs a lot of flowers," William replied cautiously, his voice trembling slightly.

"Isn't it the crew's job to prepare props? There's no flower scene scheduled for today. They're obstructing the shoot; get rid of them all!" Roxanne shouted mercilessly.

William knew that offending Roxanne was unwise, but if he always gave in in front of everyone, where would his authority as a director be? That was equally unacceptable.

"Don't hesitate, get someone to clear the flowers out!" Roxanne emphasized again.

"These are my flowers. On what basis are you moving them?" Caroline finally spoke, her tone firm.

"So what if they're your flowers? This is a film set, a workplace, not your private garden!" Roxanne pointed at Caroline, raising her voice.

Roxanne seemed agitated. The sudden flower delivery had clearly hit her hard. In front of everyone, Roxanne found it unacceptable to go from smug to embarrassed in an instant, and vented all her frustration on Caroline.

Caroline retorted, "This isn't your private space either! What right do you have to move the flowers? Earlier, you thought the flowers were for you and were enjoying it. Why didn't you say to move them then? You even suggested William use them as props."

She continued, "Now that you know the flowers aren't yours, you're getting angry and trying to suppress me? William is in charge of the set, and he's decided to use the flowers for filming. Didn't you understand? You can't just ignore his decision and yell at him just to save your own pride. Who do you think you are?"
