Chapter 164
"Mr. Kennedy, the previous female lead was Roxanne, right?" Olivia asked softly with a slight smile. In the car, it was just her and Nick. The sharp lines of his profile made her heart race. It was the most handsome profile she had ever seen!
She had worked with many male stars and seen many handsome men, but none could compare to the charm of Nick's profile.
"Seems like it," Nick responded indifferently, clearly uninterested.
Right now, his mind was full of thoughts about Caroline sitting in Joseph's car. Could something be happening? Probably not, it was broad daylight, nothing too extreme could happen.
Although Joseph looked decent, the gap between them was still huge. Caroline wouldn't fall for Joseph, would she? The more Nick thought about it, the more restless he felt.
"Then why was she replaced?" Olivia continued to ask.
"Well, it's hard to explain," Nick said nonchalantly.
Olivia felt a mix of emotions, knowing there must be a story behind it. But she also noticed Nick was distracted, and asking more wouldn't yield any answers. Besides, asking too much might make Nick suspicious.
So she cleverly changed the topic. "Mr. Kennedy, how did you and Ms. Murphy meet?"
This question indeed piqued Nick's interest, and he even turned to Olivia. "Why do you suddenly ask that?"
"I'm just really envious of Ms. Murphy, having such a great husband like you."
"But she doesn't think I'm great." Nick smiled bitterly. "I call her 'darling,' and she doesn't agree."
"That's strange! You have a child together; why wouldn't she let you call her that?"
"We're not married yet, having a child was an accident." Nick's words were filled with helplessness.
Olivia's heart leaped with joy, it seemed she still had a chance! "Then why not get married?"
"She doesn't want to. I said I'd give her a grand wedding, but she finds it troublesome and keeps delaying."
"That's impossible. You're such an excellent person; women all over the world would be fighting to marry you! How could Ms. Murphy not want to? I don't believe it!" Olivia deliberately acted very surprised to show her support for Nick.
"I don't know what she's thinking." Nick sighed helplessly.
"Oh my, could it be that Ms. Murphy really likes that Joseph? I heard they grew up together. But it shouldn't be. You're so great; how could that Joseph compare to you?" Olivia subtly manipulated Nick's emotions.
Nick had always been worried that Caroline and Joseph had unresolved feelings. With Olivia's provocation, he felt even more uneasy.
"I need to have a proper chat with Ms. Murphy. I can't let her stay confused. Missing out on someone like you would be the biggest mistake of her life." Olivia continued to stir the pot.
"I'm the father of her child; how could I lose to that Joseph? So what if they grew up together? They haven't been in contact for so many years. What feelings could there be? It must be Joseph pestering her! I need to think of a way!"
Nick was swayed by Olivia's emotions; even the smartest person can be influenced by feelings.
At that moment, Olivia casually picked up her phone and discreetly took a selfie. The photo only captured half of Nick's face, but it was his most handsome side.
"What are you planning to do? Do you need my help?" Olivia asked while probing.
"How can you help?"
"I can give you the details, like when Ms. Murphy is going on a date with Mr. Miller and where they're meeting. I can let you know so you can get there in time to stop it."
Nick got anxious as soon as he heard this. "A date?"
"I heard from the crew that it seems to be the case, but they're just jealous of Ms. Murphy. I don't believe Ms. Murphy would do that."
Nick couldn't sit still. "What did the crew say?"
"Forget it, they're just gossiping. Don't mind them, Nathan."
"Just say it," Nick urged.
"It's just trashing Ms. Murphy. Why even listen?"
"Stop dawdling, just say it!"
"You're really putting me in a difficult position. The crew said that last time when filming went late, Mr. Miller picked up Ms. Murphy and went straight to a nearby hotel. They came out together the next day. But I don't believe it anyway."
Nick slammed the steering wheel, furious. "I'm going to kill that Joseph!"
