Chapter 76

Nick had this whole "Don't start it, don't stop it, don't own it" thing going on when it came to love. He was all about letting women chase him, but this often got him into trouble. Nathan almost had to clean up his messes.

To keep things straight, Aiden had this bright idea: Nick had to rock a white suit all the time. That way, people could tell him and Nathan apart without a hitch.

Plus, Nick had this red string on his left wrist, a little secret only the Kennedy family knew about.

When he was abroad, Nick could do whatever he wanted. But back home, Nathan and the family’s image were a big deal, so no flashy outfits allowed.

Nick sighed, looking at the suit. "Alright, I'll change."

Half an hour later, Nick strolled into the Kennedy Corp Tower.

Nathan looked at Nick, their faces like mirror images. Nathan’s face was calm, but there was a tiny spark of happiness in his eyes.

Nick grinned, "Hey Nathan, I’m back. Missed you, man."

"How was Stellaria?" Nathan asked, sounding genuinely concerned.

Nick groaned, "It sucked; the place was a nightmare."

Before he could go on, Nathan raised an eyebrow, and Nick quickly shut up.

Nick switched gears, "Actually, it was fine. Everything went smoothly. I even hit it off with some big shots, and a president’s daughter was into me."

He stopped himself just in time, almost spilling the beans about his love life.

Nathan sighed.

Just then, Jack walked in, seeing the two of them together. It was like seeing double, but one was cool and distant, the other playful and charming. The suits were the only giveaway.

"Mr. Nick Kennedy, welcome back," Jack said, bowing a bit.

"Jack, was it your idea to send me to Stellaria?" Nick shot him a look.

"Mr. Nick Kennedy, I was just following orders," Jack stammered.

"Don’t blame him, it was my call. Still mad?" Nathan asked, frowning a bit.

"Nope, not at all," Nick backed off.

"Mr. Nathan Kennedy, can you sign these? I’ll head out after," Jack handed over some papers.

"Hold up, tell Nick about the woman and the kids," Nathan stopped him.

"Yes, Mr. Nathan Kennedy," Jack then filled Nick in about Caroline, Ryan, and Sophie, explaining how they confirmed the family ties.

He showed a photo of Caroline with the kids.

"They’re definitely mine; they look just like me. But who is this woman? She doesn’t ring a bell," Nick said, puzzled.

"What?" Nathan looked up.

"I’ve dated a lot, but this woman stands out. If I’d been with her, I’d remember," Nick muttered.

Nathan stayed quiet, his eyes deep in thought.

He felt the same. If Nick had been with Caroline, he wouldn’t have forgotten her.

Caroline was stunning, unforgettable, with a natural charm that made Nathan both hate and crave her.

And then there was that faint orange blossom scent around her.

That scent was Nathan’s secret, something only he could recognize and remember.

It lingered around her. For Nathan, it was unforgettable, yet impossible to describe.

Nathan had always had a thing against her, and now that she was Nick's girl, the memories of that scent just piled on the guilt, making him avoid her even more.

"Nathan, Nathan?" Nick called out a few times, noticing Nathan was lost in thought. It was rare for the usually sharp Nathan to zone out like that.

Nathan snapped back. "You know everything now?"

"The kids' mom? I don't know her, but she's gorgeous, so she fits the bill. Nathan, why are you spacing out? Got a crush?" Nick teased.

A flicker of panic crossed Nathan's eyes. "What nonsense are you spouting!"

"Are you still tangled up with Roxanne? You don't love her, and she's not right for you. Don't let mediocre people mess up your life," Nick said bluntly.

Nathan's gaze turned icy, staring Nick down.

"Alright, alright, I won't butt into your business. Do whatever you want. Can I go now?" Nick asked.

Nathan stayed silent.

He was torn about whether to tell Nick about Demi's shady actions, like her sketchy deals during auditions, late-night hotel meetings with the assistant director, and using the kid to get closer to the Kennedy Family.

If he kept quiet, Nick might get played; if he spoke up, it felt wrong to gossip about a woman given his position.

In the end, Nathan chose silence, deciding to secretly keep Demi away from the Kennedy Family.

The next day, on the set of "Thunder 2," amidst the intense filming, a surprise arrived: two whole truckloads of roses!

The vibrant red roses were carefully unloaded, filling every corner of the set, turning it into a romantic sea of flowers. It looked more like a grand rose exhibition than a film shoot.

Roxanne emerged slowly, surrounded by a crowd, a smug smile on her lips.

The crowd showered her with praise.

"Roxanne, your fans are amazing! They sent so many flowers!"

"My God, the number of roses must exceed the combined stock of all the flower shops. It's like they moved the entire flower district here!"

"Only you have such magic, Roxanne. Your fans' loyalty is incredible!"

The flattery washed over Roxanne like a tide. Though she was delighted, she was also puzzled by the sudden gift.

William was equally excited. "We have a scene that needs a lot of roses. I was worried about the cost of buying flowers, and special effects would look fake. These roses are perfect, let's shoot that scene now!"

The assistant director eagerly agreed, "Yes!"

Roxanne pretended to be troubled. "These fans are too irrational, sending so many flowers. I don't actually approve of it. But if they insisted, I can only accept them."

"That's your charm, Roxanne. Only a superstar can have such loyal fans, it's amazing!"

"Of course, no other star could receive this many flowers. It's unprecedented!"

The crowd continued to flatter her, and Roxanne became even more elated.

In the nearby makeup room, Caroline heard the commotion outside and peeked out with her friend Sarah to see what was happening.

Seeing this, Roxanne wouldn't miss the chance to mock Caroline.

"How about it? You've never seen so many flowers in your life, have you?" Roxanne taunted Caroline deliberately.
