Chapter 198
The next morning, Caroline woke up early, quickly washed up, and planned to go to the restaurant for some breakfast before heading to the set.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Nick standing at the door with a rose in his mouth, striking a particularly handsome pose. Caroline was taken aback. "What are you doing so early in the morning?"
"I couldn't sleep last night thinking about you. I guessed you would get up early for filming, so I came over in advance." With that, he handed the rose to her.
"Stop joking around." Caroline pushed the rose away and turned to walk towards the elevator.
Despite this, Nick still followed her like a loyal follower.
Entering the restaurant, Caroline ordered porridge, eggs, pancakes, and a small cake, ready to enjoy a good meal. Seeing the mountain of food in front of her, Nick was stunned; he didn't expect her to eat so much.
He casually ordered a coffee and a sandwich for himself and sat beside her, watching her eat with relish.
"You have a great appetite!" Nick teased.
"I'll eat as much as I want!" Caroline said, a bit annoyed.
"Of course! As long as you're happy!" Nick responded with a smile.
Caroline couldn't be bothered to respond and focused on her hearty breakfast. Recently, her work schedule had been irregular, often not eating until the afternoon, so she needed to replenish enough energy in the morning.
Seeing Caroline eating so deliciously, Nick also felt a bit tempted. "How about letting me have a bite?"
Caroline gave him a sideways glance. "Go get your own! Why take mine!"
So, Nick had to sulkily bite into his sandwich, which suddenly tasted bland.
When Caroline finished eating and was ready to leave, Nick immediately suggested, "Do you want me to take you to the set?"
"No need, I'll just take a cab. You should be busy with other things."
"Today, my most important task is to escort you." He said as they walked out of the hotel together.
Just outside the door, they saw a black luxury Rolls-Royce parked, and a tall, handsome figure stepped out of the car.
"Nathan?" Caroline asked in surprise.
Equally surprised was Nathan, who didn't expect to see Caroline and Nick leaving together.
"Nathan, are you here to pick up Carol too?"
"Not really." Nathan walked straight to the office area.
Watching him walk away, Nick felt a twinge of doubt. Why was Nathan here so early?
The two didn't talk much on the way until they reached the filming location. Caroline quickly immersed herself in her busy work, hardly stopping for a moment. It wasn't until after six in the evening that the long day finally ended.
Just as she was exhausted, she received a message from her agent, Sarah.
Sarah: [Good news! We've found a new place to stay, and we can go see it now!]
Caroline was so tired she didn't want to move, but considering that staying in a hotel long-term was inconvenient, she forced herself to follow Sarah to a villa in the suburbs.
"Sarah, given my current situation, isn't renting a place like this a bit too extravagant?" she asked, puzzled.
"Don't worry, this is my friend's place. He's going abroad for a few years, and the house is vacant, so he's willing to rent it out at a very low price. The monthly rent is only three thousand dollars! It's a great deal." Sarah explained proudly.
Still somewhat skeptical about the price, Caroline's eyes lit up when she saw the interior of the house.
Walking through a stone-paved path lined with exquisite flower beds, turning a corner into the courtyard filled with a delightful fragrance, and the elegantly styled, luxuriously decorated villa interior was simply impeccable!
Although she was very tempted, Caroline still expressed concern. "The landlord is charging so little, can we really stay here with peace of mind?"
Sarah assured her that there was absolutely no problem and clarified once again that the landlord was not Nick, but just a friend of hers who was going to study abroad.
After the property manager showed up and confirmed this, Caroline finally let down her guard. It seemed she had truly found a great place to live at an affordable price!
