Chapter 82

At eleven o'clock at night inside the Blue Club, Roxanne was in a foul mood. She'd already had a few drinks before Caroline showed up, and seeing her only made things worse.

"How did you know my mom was looking for a USB drive before she died?" Caroline cut straight to the chase.

Roxanne let out a cold laugh, "I know a lot of things, including stuff you know and stuff you don't."

Caroline pressed on, "That was my mom's keepsake. Hand it over."

Roxanne sneered, "You think I'm just gonna give it to you?"

Caroline asked, "So what do you want?"

Roxanne mocked, "Caroline, you're something else. Couldn't snag Nathan, so you went for Nick? He sends you flowers and diamonds. Just drop the act."

Every word from Roxanne dripped with resentment.

Caroline smiled lightly, "Jealous?"

"Bitch!" Roxanne spat out angrily.

"Your anger is hilarious! I know you're jealous, but so what? Nick likes me, and there's nothing you can do about it," Caroline shot back with a grin.

"Caroline, don't get too full of yourself. If you want your mom's USB drive, you have to promise not to marry into the Kennedy Family and swear that your kids' father isn't Nick!" Roxanne said viciously.

Caroline was a bit taken aback. "Your info is pretty up-to-date. How do you know about this?"

"I've known for a while! Nathan tells me everything about the Kennedy Family. I know more than you!" Roxanne lied.

In reality, Roxanne found out because Nick had publicly taken Caroline away from the set, causing a scene. Jealous, Roxanne called Jack, hoping he'd tell Nathan. Jack spilled that Nick was Ryan and Sophie's biological dad, so he didn't dare mess with Nick's family business.

Roxanne felt threatened, fearing that if Caroline joined the Kennedy Family, her long-hidden secrets would come out, and she'd lose everything.

Desperate, Roxanne used Daisy's keepsake as leverage.

Caroline knew she had to play along to get Daisy's keepsake. Daisy had often mentioned the USB drive when she was really sick. Caroline didn't know what was on it, but she had a gut feeling it was important.

Even though Daisy had been dead for years, Caroline always felt there was more to her sudden death.

If she could get Daisy's keepsake, she might uncover the secrets of Daisy's past and reclaim what had been taken from her.

"Fine, I agree," Caroline said seriously.

Seeing Caroline agree, Roxanne felt much better.

"You have to take your kids and leave Aurora City, never come back," Roxanne added.

"Give me the keepsake, and I'll agree to all your demands," Caroline replied.

Roxanne insisted, "No, you have to keep your promise first, then I'll hand it over."

Caroline asked, "I know you don't trust me, but I don't trust you either. How can I be sure you really have my mom's keepsake?"

Roxanne pulled out her phone and showed Caroline a photo of the USB drive.

Caroline had never seen the USB drive before and couldn't tell if it was legit. But she had no choice; she had to play along to get Daisy's keepsake.

Caroline decided to get the keepsake first and deal with the rest later.

"I need to plan my exit carefully. You know how powerful the Kennedy Family is. It won't be easy," Caroline said.

Roxanne replied, "Don't worry, I'll handle everything. As long as you leave, I'll give you the USB drive."

Caroline asked, "How do you plan to arrange it? Where do you want me to go?"

Roxanne's lips curled into a cold smile. "The Kennedy Family is powerful. Naturally, I'll send you and your kids somewhere no one can find you."

"Where?" Caroline knew how ruthless Roxanne could be but couldn't guess where she'd send her.

"You'll find out when the time comes. The Kennedy Family will never find you. You and your kids can live a quiet life. That's already a blessing; at least you'll be alive. It's a luxury for someone like you to be alive. You're not worthy to marry into the Kennedy Family; I am!"

Thinking of Caroline leaving Aurora City, Roxanne felt satisfied.

Caroline didn't argue, just smiled faintly, thinking to herself: 'If I'm not worthy, you have even less of a chance. Five years ago, I was at your mercy. Now, you think you can control me again? Dream on!'

The next morning, Sawyer, who had been away recording a variety show in another city, finally returned to the set.

The sea of roses that had stunned everyone was still there, leaving Sawyer in awe. Who could have pulled off such a grand gesture?

He quickly called over a staff member and asked urgently, "Who sent these flowers? And for whom?"

Sawyer's first thought was that the flowers must be for him, given that he was the talk of the set.

But he had been away recording a show for the past two days and wasn't even on set.

"These are for Ms. Murphy," the staff member replied.

Sawyer was even more puzzled.

"Are you sure there's no mistake?" Sawyer frowned.

"There was a mistake. We all thought they were for Roxanne, but it turns out they're for Ms. Murphy. Isn't it strange? Mr. Kennedy's girlfriend is Roxanne, but he sent flowers to Ms. Murphy instead. Has Mr. Kennedy cheated on Roxanne?" the staff member whispered.

"What did you say? Mr. Kennedy sent them?" Sawyer grabbed the staff member's sleeve.

The staff member was startled. "Yes, everyone saw it. Mr. Kennedy made a grand entrance yesterday, even rolled out the red carpet. It was quite impressive!"

Sawyer was even more skeptical.

Nathan, who was always so serious, sending flowers? Ridiculous!

Even if he did send flowers, he wouldn't send them to Demi.

Nathan had explicitly warned him to stay away from Demi, saying she was cunning.

Would Nathan send her so many flowers? Impossible!

"Mr. Kennedy came to the set himself? And gave the flowers in person?" Sawyer's eyes widened.
