Chapter 203

In the president's office at Kennedy Corp's headquarters, Nathan repeatedly looked at the report in his hand. Despite his intense excitement, his face remained expressionless.

Daniel stood quietly beside him. Although he didn't speak, his expression showed how important the content of the report was.

"Mr. Nathan Kennedy, according to this report, Ryan and Sophie are actually your biological children. Everyone previously thought they were Mr. Nick Kennedy's children, but it was a misunderstanding. From the DNA test, the match with you is higher. Congratulations, Mr. Nathan Kennedy!" Daniel's voice broke the silence.

Nathan's emotions were mixed, and he didn't know what to say in the face of this sudden good news.

He suddenly became the father of Ryan and Sophie, which was certainly a great thing for him. But thinking of Nick, he felt an inexplicable pressure.

"Is it necessary to do another test?" Nathan asked Daniel.

"There's no need to worry; this testing technology is very mature and has virtually no margin for error. Moreover, I found the most authoritative institution, and no matter how many times we test, the result will be the same." Daniel said firmly.

"Alright, you can go now." Nathan nodded.

Daniel got up to leave.

"Wait, don't tell anyone about this." Nathan reminded.

"Understood, Mr. Nathan Kennedy." Daniel replied and then left the office.

In fact, even if Nathan didn't specifically instruct him, Daniel wouldn't easily talk about it. This matter was too significant.

After Daniel left, Nathan read the report in his hand again, with countless thoughts in his mind. Then, he dialed Nick's number.

Nick was working in a department not far from the company and arrived quickly.

"Let's go play soccer; it's been a long time since we exercised." Nathan suggested.

Nick looked puzzled. "What? Soccer?"

"Yeah, you haven't played in a long time, right?" Nathan smiled.

"Nathan, you still remember you have this skill? Back in the day, our forward duo was the most talented and the coolest in the whole school," Nick teased.

"Alright, stop talking. Let's go play for a while."

"But I have a lot of work to do."

"Put it down, come play soccer with me first."

Forty minutes later, the two arrived at the Aurora City Sports Complex.

This was the home stadium of the Aurora City Soccer Club, and it was particularly empty at this time because the team was playing away. John had prepared the field in advance, with all the lights on, just so they could have a good game.

Nathan, in his sportswear, looked completely different, less serious and more lively and energetic.

"Nathan, what's up with you today? Why did you suddenly want to play soccer?" Nick asked curiously while running.

"Just haven't played in a long time, feeling nostalgic." Nathan answered lightly.

Nathan kicked the ball out.

"Just the two of us playing is boring, why not call some friends to join?" Nick suggested.

"Forget it, they would just be extras, no fun." Nathan shook his head.

"True, who dares to compete with you? They'd have to leave Aurora City!" Nick laughed and agreed.

"John can be the goalkeeper." Nathan pointed to John on the side of the field.

So John took on the role of goalkeeper while the other person played offense. Despite their amateur skills, they managed to score quite a few goals. After running around for a while, both of them were out of breath and sat down in the middle of the field to rest.

"Feels great, like going back to the old days." Nick sighed, lying on the grass.

"Nick, no matter what happens, we will always be best brothers. Nothing and no one in this world can change that, right?" Nathan said meaningfully, looking at Nick.

"Nathan, you sound weird." Nick looked at Nathan with some confusion.

"Nothing, I just suddenly had an insight."

"Nathan, don't worry. As long as I'm around, I won't let anyone hurt you." Nick's eyes were full of sincerity.

"Me too, same goes for you." Nathan replied softly.

"Nathan, what's up with you today? Why are you acting so strange?" Nick frowned and asked.

"Nick, I cleaned this place thoroughly, now it's just the two of us. Whatever we say won't get out." Nathan said seriously.

"Nathan, what do you want to say?" Nick started to feel something was wrong.

"I want to confirm, what exactly happened between you and Caroline and the kids? What really happened between you two?"

This was Nathan's final step to confirm. He needed to clarify things. After all, this matter was no small thing.

He hadn't been with Nick like this for a long time, choosing this place was not just for playing soccer, but also to have a place where they could talk without any worries.

"Why are you asking this?"

"Because it's very important. Please tell me."

"Nathan, I really don't remember. I met a girl at a club back then, and I've been looking for her all these years. But based on the kids' appearance and the previous DNA test results, it should be her. But I know you don't like Caroline, and she doesn't want to join the Kennedy family, so we've been dragging it out. I also hope you can let me and Caroline be together and give the kids a complete family." Nick said honestly.

"So you're not sure if it was you and Caroline who did those things?" Nathan asked.

"Not sure. You know, I'm not the proactive type, but I also don't know how to refuse, so I've dated many girls." Nick explained.

"When we went for the DNA test last time, you were in Stellaria. Do you remember the situation then?" Nathan asked.

"Yes, I remember."

"At that time, I was supposed to get your sample, but you were out of town and couldn't come back, so you said since we're identical twins, using mine would be fine. But this time, the new test showed that wasn't the case." Nathan said word by word.

"I see."

"Have you ever thought about the possibility that Ryan and Sophie are actually my children?" Nathan continued to ask.

Nick was stunned, completely unsure how to react.

"Nathan, are you serious? You've stayed away from women for so many years; how could you have illegitimate children? It was because you thought it was impossible that you said they were my kids." Nick said in a daze.

"Maybe my previous thoughts were wrong." Nathan said softly.

Seeing Nathan's expression, Nick gradually realized the seriousness of the problem.

"Nathan, what's going on with you now? Did you call me here to tell me something important?"

"Nick, actually, a few years ago, I had a sexual relationship with someone. I initially thought the person I had sex with was Roxanne. But now it seems, maybe the woman back then wasn't Roxanne but someone else. I did a paternity test, and the result is that Ryan and Sophie are my children, not yours." Nathan said seriously.

Nick was dumbfounded, unable to believe it.
