Chapter 102 An Eye for an Eye

Even when faced with only two paths, there would always be a hidden trail waiting to be discovered.

There must always be a way out, a third choice.

Evenly didn't always have to passively endure and counterattack; she should take the initiative to strike back so that those two people knew that she was not easy to mess with!

Samuel returned home to find Evenly lying on the sofa with a laptop in front of her. Her agile fingers were tapping on the keyboard, and her legs were crossed and propped up together. She looked very focused.

It was rare to see her playing on the computer at home like this. Putting down what he was holding, Samuel changed his shoes and approached her, leaning in to take a look. He saw that she had opened several pages on her screen and was currently registering a new account on a forum.

"You seem quite busy?" Samuel poured a glass of water and brought one over for Evelyn as well.

Evelyn got up from the sofa, sat cross-legged with the laptop on her lap, and took a sip of water, but her gaze never left the computer screen. "Since someone is stirring up trouble for me, I could only reluctantly muster the spirit to accompany them in playing."

From her tone and expression, it seemed that someone had upset Evenly.

"Who are you dealing with, Ms. Taylor?" Samuel loosened his tie a bit, unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt, allowing himself to relax after a tense day.

Before, coming back to this place or not made no difference, as it was just a place to sleep. However, since Evelyn came into his life, Samuel began to look forward to "home". Being able to see her every day, hear her voice, and face various happy or unhappy situations with her was something worth looking forward to.

However, she seemed confident and didn't seem to need his help at all.

"Who else besides that scoundrel?" She put down the water glass, lowered her head, tapped on the keyboard, and said without looking up.

Samuel raised his eyebrow, moved over to sit beside her, and saw that she had posted the perfume formula online!

Narrowing his eyes, he carefully examined it. Indeed, it was a perfume formula, so what she was doing could be considered commercial espionage!

"Is what you posted the work you did at Liavian Perfumes before?" With a little thought, Samuel could figure it out.

"Yes! An eye for an eye. I'm just paying him back. I didn't want to be so ruthless, but since he was being relentless, then I have no choice but to teach him a lesson!"

After hitting the last enter key, she sighed in relief and set the computer aside, looking like she had accomplished something significant.

"Have you considered what if he sues you?"

"He has sued me before!" Evelyn shrugged. "Besides, my email has been hacked and the formula was leaked out. What does that have to do with them? Liavian Perfumes has long declared publicly that those formulas are the work of Ms. Reed. I was just a general worker and didn't have access to their core secrets. Besides, there is more than one type of perfume formula here."

Samuel pondered. "But what if they claim that you stole these formulas during your time at Liavian Perfumes?"

One should always consider all aspects before acting, anticipate the opponent's moves, and then block them, leaving them no way out.

"Where is the evidence?" She shrugged. "Even if they want to sue, they don't have any evidence! From the beginning, there was no written labor agreement between me and Liavian Perfumes. Since they like to use agreements as evidence, then let's use the agreement! If it comes to a real lawsuit, I am not an employee of Liavian Perfumes; what ability do I have to access their core secrets? If it were that easy, then Liavian Perfumes would be in serious trouble and might as well close down early!"

That made sense: Lawsuits required evidence. If Liam were so confident, he wouldn't have withdrawn the lawsuit so easily

Of course, it also had to do with her making a few moves on the formula at the time, causing confusion among them. However, the major reson they dropped the lawsuit was that Liam weighed the situation and did not feel completely secure.

"In that case, Mrs. Whitman has the upper hand, and I don't need to worry at all." Samuel rubbed her hair with his hand, looking indulgent.

Evelyn tilted her head to look at him. "Not really! It would help if you were always prepared to handle my logistics. In case they bully me, you should be ready with a whole team of lawyers to help me in the lawsuit!"

Evelyn held his hand, wrapped it around her shoulder, then leaned down, lying on his lap, acting coy.

Evenly was becoming increasingly cuquettish. Every glance and every move pierced his heart, making him unable to resist pampering her.

"So, am I completely under your spell?" Samuel asked.

"You don't want to?" Evenly furrowed her brow, looking pitiful and aggrieved, but the cunning sparkle in her eyes betrayed her mischievousness.

Samuel smiled, "I am at your service!"

Leaning down, he gently kissed her lips.

They were already familiar with each other's bodies. Despite her initial shyness, Evelyn was also becoming more familiar. She lay on his lap, one hand holding his neck, enjoying the affection he gave her.

The biggest drawback of this position was a sore neck!

Of course, it was Samuel's neck that was sore.

Finally unable to bear it, he sat up straight, stretched his neck, and looked at her with a smile, "Are you being naughty?"

"How dare I!" Evelyn was about to say more when the computer beeped with a message. She quickly sat up to check.

It was some forum replies and various private messages. Since it was an industry forum, someone quickly discovered that it was a perfume formula. Some researchers and perfumers from other companies might be discussing it, but for now, no one realized it belonged to Liavian Perfumes.

Of course, people at Liavian Perfumes would notice it immediately. Some were already messaging her, questioning who she was and why she did this and demanding that she delete the post.

Late into the night, intrigued by the formula being discussed, everyone congregated. The forums quickly buzzed with activity.

Presumably, some had already started to mix based on the formula. Even if the post were deleted now, it wouldn't make much difference. After all, the formula was already out there, and those quick enough had already saved screenshots.

Samuel reached over, held her hand, logged out of the account, closed the page, and shut down the computer.

"What needed to be done has been done. Don't bother with those trivial matters. The bait has been thrown, and the fish will bite on its own!"

Evelyn agreed; this was what she had intended to do all along, but Samuel was just a step ahead.

She wasn't in a hurry, but someone was. Just two minutes after closing the computer, Liam's call came in directly.
