Chapter 29 Eager to Give It a Try
"I'm fine. New environment, new colleagues. Just like the name of the company, I am also reborn," Evelyn replied.
Evelyn didn't mention the difficulties she faced in the new company.
Life was never easy. You would always encounter people you couldn't get along with. Besides, Evelyn agreed with Cathy. It was normal for ordinary companies and teams not to want her because she had no fame or qualifications and was even involved in a complex lawsuit.
Indeed, it was because of her relationship with Samuel that Evelyn entered Neogenito Fragrances. Therefore, Evelyn should earn the respect of those who looked down on her with her own abilities, rather than relying on Samuel's influence to oppress them.
"Okay." Samuel lowered his head and gently kissed her face.
In fact, Samuel knew everything that happened in the company. Since Evelyn didn't want to talk about it, he pretended not to know. He also wanted to see how far Evelyn could go on her own, stubbornly refusing to publicly acknowledge their relationship.
He believed that Evelyn wouldn't disappoint him.
A simple kiss was no longer enough for Samuel. He lowered his head and precisely found her lips. It was a passionate kiss.
Evelyn trembled instinctively. But quickly, she raised her arms around his neck and tilted her head to respond to his kiss.
This heated kiss raised the temperature in the room rapidly. If Samuel didn't remember her menstruation, he would have made love to her.
Finally, Samuel lightly bit her earlobe and hoarsely said, "I won't let you go next time."
An electric current spread throughout her body from her ear. Evelyn was completely numb from his kiss but still retorted, "Maybe it's me who won't let you go?"
Her bright eyes, slightly red lips, and teasing words excited Samuel. It seemed like a storm was brewing in his eyes. His large hand tightly gripped her waist. "Is that so? I really can't wait to try it..."
Samuel licked her outer ear.
If Samuel hadn't gripped her waist tightly, Evelyn would have collapsed to the ground.
Evelyn held onto his shoulders tightly but didn't dare to argue with Samuel anymore because an excited man could be somewhat scary.
Evelyn's phone happened to ring. Samuel found the ringtone irritating.
"I'll answer the call."
Evelyn let go of his arms, but he didn't release her waist.
Annoyed, Samuel glanced at her phone. "Forget it!"
"Let me see who's calling me first."
Looking at his expression, Evelyn wanted to laugh because she didn't expect the childish Samuel to be quite cute.
Samuel held Evelyn tightly, silent but for the insistent ringing of the phone. Worried it might be urgent, Evelyn tiptoed over and kissed him on the cheek, offering silent comfort.
However, before Evelyn could steady herself, he suddenly turned his head and kissed her lips fiercely.
The air became scorching hot...
After a long time, Samuel finally let go of Evelyn. Strangely enough, Evelyn's phone kept ringing. This proved that the person calling her was stubborn.
Evelyn blushed and ran to get her phone. However, she froze when she saw the screen.
It was Liam!
Subconsciously, Evelyn looked up at Samuel and found that he was also looking at her.
"Do you need me to answer it for you?" Samuel offered proactively when Evelyn hesitated.
"No, I can handle it."
Shaking her head, Evelyn answered the call and put it on speaker.
In the next second, Liam's angry voice came through. "Evelyn! Why did you terminate the lease? Why didn't you tell me?"
Evelyn didn't expect Liam to urgently seek her because of the house.
Evelyn thought, "Isn't it interesting that Liam has just now realized I no longer live there? In other words, he hasn't been there or looked for me all these days."
Looking at Samuel, Evelyn sneered and said slowly, "Because I don't want to rent it anymore. I just need to inform the landlord that I am moving out. Do I still need to notify Mr. Scott?"
"Don't forget that I helped you pay the rent. You..." Liam took a deep breath, suppressing his desire to complain, and asked, "Where are you living now? Does Neogenito Fragrances provide housing and food for you?"
Liam was sure that Neogenito employees had misled Evelyn. After all, Evelyn had always been obedient and docile, yet she suddenly started defying him. Thus, she must have found out about his affair with Vivian.
Upon hearing his words, Evelyn almost laughed, especially with her boss standing a few steps away from her.
Looking into Samuel's eyes, Evelyn said slowly, "Yes, Neogenito Fragrances provides housing and food for me. Mr. Scott, don't worry about me.
"Also, are you trying to accuse me? Can't you afford a lawyer? By the way, the rent deposit is still with the landlord. You can use that to pay your legal fees."
Her sarcasm made Liam angry. He gritted his teeth and asked, "Do you think I'm afraid of you just because you have that recording? That recording is not admissible in court. Even if it could be used as evidence, how can you prove that you haven't edited it? I could also say that you maliciously manipulated me into saying those things. I didn't mean any of it."
"Mr. Scott, since you're not afraid, I'll see you in court!"
Evelyn hung up directly.
Evelyn now despised Liam, so she added all of his contact information to her blacklist.
Evelyn felt that her world had finally become peaceful!
After doing all this, Evelyn noticed that Samuel had already walked up to her. Therefore, Samuel had witnessed almost everything she did.
"Um..." Feeling awkward for a second, Evelyn took the initiative to say, "Don't worry. After this is over, I won't have any contact with him anymore."
Since Evelyn promised to get a marriage license with Samuel, she would be absolutely loyal to him. Evelyn would not and was not interested in getting tangled up with her ex-boyfriend.
"Did I say I would suspect you of betraying me?" Samuel glanced at her phone, "What recording?"
Evelyn was confused, not immediately understanding his meaning. Only after a moment did she realize he was referring to Liam's words.

That day, Liam had brought a few bodyguards and waited for Evelyn on the small road behind the venue, almost attempting to kidnap her. Thankfully, Evelyn had learned how to fight over the years. Otherwise...
"It's nothing. Just... I tricked him," Evelyn said.
"Tricked?" Samuel was puzzled.
But Evelyn misunderstood his reaction. "Don't worry. I would never deceive you. I only tricked him because he deceived me. But you—"
"I believe you," Samuel interrupted her and raised his hand to fix her hair. "But by provoking him like this, aren't you afraid he'll actually sue you? As far as I know, the current evidence doesn't favor your case."
Liam had taken away all the documents. Of course, the employees at Liavian Perfumes followed his lead. The current situation was not in Evelyn's favor.
Naturally, Samuel had a way to solve all this, but he was curious about what Evelyn would do.
