Chapter 22 Welcome to the Lawsuit!

Evelyn looked at her and said with a faint smile, "Are you sure you want me to clarify things here?"

She was so calm that Vivian felt uneasy.

Vivian thought, 'What is she going to do?! What on earth is she going to do?!'

But now the situation had progressed to this point, and she could no longer retreat.

Vivian gritted her teeth and said, "You stop talking nonsense. I have always had an impeccable character. In this industry, I dare not say that I am talented, but I am definitely the most hardworking. Everyone has seen how much I have put into the company in these past few years. This is something you cannot just make up."

"Vivian..." Liam lightly pressed Vivian's arm and turned his head to look at Evelyn, clearing his throat. "I apologize sincerely. The purpose of today's press conference was primarily to offer an explanation to the competition's organizing committee, along with our friends and consumers who are concerned about us.

"However, I realize now that I may not have thoroughly considered all aspects and failed to allocate adequate time for Ms. Taylor to prepare herself. We—"

"Do you want evidence?" Evelyn interrupted him. Her simple words immediately attracted everyone's attention.

Evelyn calmly picked up her phone that she had placed aside. "Since everyone has been talking about evidence all along, this is indeed the most direct. So, let me show you the evidence."

"Ms. Taylor, what is the evidence you are referring to?" someone immediately asked.

This press conference was truly thrilling. They kept expressing their opinions, and no one was willing to back down. The whole incident seemed very complicated. Now the journalists couldn't be sure who was telling the truth.

The journalists could only say that both sides were very good at acting.

"The evidence is..." Evelyn didn't finish her sentence before Vivian couldn't bear it anymore. The latter stood up abruptly and declared, "The evidence is all the employees of Liavian Perfumes. There are numerous individuals who can attest to the identity of the perfumer behind Liavian Perfumes and the true creator of these works!

"Evelyn! Originally, because we were classmates and friends, I wanted to give you some dignity. But you've gone too far! Not only do you refuse to admit your mistake, but you're also spouting nonsense here. I don't want to play games with you here anymore. I'll see you in court!"

After speaking, Vivian directly threw the microphone in front of her and left.

The journalists at the scene were shocked.

Although they had a heated argument, the journalists never expected Vivian to leave directly.

Even Liam, not to mention the journalists present, didn't anticipate it. Instinctively, he reached out to grab Vivian, but he was a step too slow. Now, all he could see was Vivian's back. If he were to stand up and chase after her at this moment, it would have a negative impact.

However, Liam couldn't entirely disregard Vivian. He could only offer an apology.
"I'm sorry, the press conference ends here today. Thank you all for attending."

As he was leaving, he glared at Evelyn and said a few words to the person next to him before abruptly going after Vivian without looking back.

Evelyn stood facing a multitude of flashing lights and numerous pairs of eyes, suddenly finding herself at the center of attention.

Liam had abandoned her, leaving her to confront it all alone. In truth, she should have realized his lack of care for her sooner.

"Ms. Taylor, does Ms. Reed's statement just now mean that she is going to sue you? How do you respond?"

"What evidence did you just mention?"

"Ms. Taylor, do you really have evidence or are you just stalling for time? Have you considered the consequences if you are indeed sued?"

Facing the questioning, Evelyn calmly surveyed the room. Her composed demeanor and overly cool presence silenced the loud crowd.

She slowly said, "They're welcome to sue me!"

Evelyn knew she wouldn't be able to leave so easily, but she didn't expect Liam to block her path in the hallway.

She thought, 'Wasn't he going after Vivian? Why hasn't he left?'

Liam wore a grim expression as he leaned against the wall, hands tucked into his pockets, obscured by the darkness that enveloped him.

Evelyn hesitated, reluctant to acknowledge him. She briefly contemplated changing her route but found her path blocked by someone else. someone already blocking her way.

She thought, 'No wonder he whispered something to that person before leaving. So he was talking about this? Then he finally cared about me for once.'

Realizing she couldn't go forward or backward, Evelyn walked straight towards him. "Mr. Scott, are you trying to threaten me or kidnap me?"

Liam straightened, his anger palpable though not vocalized. He advanced slowly, each step echoing sharply against the floor, resonating like blows to the heart.

Evelyn impulsively glanced around, thinking, 'There are no surveillance cameras here, and he has prepared, so the people outside won't notice what's happening here. He really knows how to choose a location.'

"Evelyn," Liam called her name softly. His voice was gentle but his tone was heavy. "What exactly do you want?"

"Mr. Scott, don't you understand what I want?" she said coldly.

"Didn't we agree on everything before?" He could still restrain his anger. This might be his last attempt to convince her. "What did you mean by those words just now? Are you really determined to confront me and the company?

"What did Neogenito Fragrances promise you? Don't be so naive. Do you really think they value you?" he said angrily, his voice low. "You're being used right now. Our company has been growing rapidly lately. The competition is fierce, and they will use any dirty tactics to suppress their competitors. You don't understand any of this. Do you really think they care about someone like you, with no achievements? Once Liavian Perfumes goes bankrupt, you will be abandoned."

Liam had pondered this issue for quite some time, always feeling that Neogenito Fragrances was causing him trouble.

He thought, 'I don't know what they said to Evelyn or what conditions they offered her. But this shouldn't be happening. Evelyn never cared about interests. Her heart was always with me.

'Could she have found out about Vivian and me? No! If she knew, she'd have confronted me, right?'

Evelyn looked at him. In fact, she admired him.

She thought, 'How can he calmly tell so many lies? And he looks so sincere, so concerned for me. How could he not feel guilty at all?'

"Evelyn, please wake up. Don't you care about our relationship anymore? Even if you're upset with me, there should be a limit. If you keep going like this, things will spiral out of control." Liam raised his hand and gently grasped her shoulder, continuing, "Did someone from Neogenito Fragrances contact you again? You—"

"I took the initiative to contact Neogenito Fragrances."

Evelyn glanced at her shoulder and gently pulled away from Liam's grasp.
