Chapter 159 Thank You

Of course, Vivian was the most disappointed one. She was originally waiting to see some fun, but she didn't expect Lisa to suddenly appear and break the deadlock, which was really annoying!

Gritting her teeth in anger, Vivian stared angrily at the cheerful Lisa, feeling that Lisa had ruined the plan.

She cursed in her mind, 'Wait a minute! Why did Lisa look familiar? Lisa said that Evelyn is her friend she met in Vistalia, but I have known Evelyn since college. I have met almost all of Evelyn's friends except for a few. The name Lisa also sounded familiar.'

Staring at Lisa's profile for a while, Vivian suddenly remembered it was Lisa?!

On the other hand, after the crowd dispersed, Lisa kept talking to Evelyn, "Evelyn, I changed my number after returning home and sent it to you. Why didn't you contact me again? I thought you had forgotten about me."

"You sent me a new number?" Evelyn was surprised. "I didn't receive it."

Evelyn also remembered Lisa. At that time, Lisa had come to the school as an exchange student, but no one knew Lisa's identity at that time, let alone that she was the daughter of the internationally renowned perfumer Matthew. Most people thought she was just a normal international student.

Lisa wasn't as cheerful back then as she was now, and, like Evelyn in some ways, she didn't have many friends. Evelyn had forgotten how they became friends, but when Lisa left to return to her country, Evelyn made a scented sachet as a gift for Lisa.

Both Evelyn and Lisa liked perfumery, but mostly essential oils and perfumes. The traditional scented sachet in Vistalia was rare to Lisa, filled with dried flowers of various scents, with some adjustments based on Evelyn's preferences. Although not expensive, it was a thoughtful gift.

Unexpectedly, Lisa liked it very much and kept it with her all the time.

"You didn't receive it? I was afraid you didn't, so I sent it three times." Pouting, Lisa looked a bit disappointed.

But she quickly cheered up. "It's okay. Even if you didn't receive it, we still got in touch and met again. Isn't that a special coincidence?"

"Yes, you are right." Evelyn smiled. Meeting an old friend abroad again was indeed a very happy thing.

"By the way, are you here to participate in the tasting competition?" Lisa held a small piece of cake in her hand and ate as she asked.

Raising an eyebrow at Lisa, Evelyn smiled and said, "You didn't think I came here just to see you, did you?"

"I said that on purpose! Earlier, you and my dad were about to fight. If I didn't say that, how would I ease the tension?" Lisa said with a smile.

Evelyn fell silent.

It turned out that Lisa knew everything and pretended not to, breaking the stalemate. She was indeed a clever girl!

Even though they hadn't seen each other for a few years, the feeling of old friends remained. Evelyn nodded with a smile. "So, what if I really end up fighting with Matthew?"

"You won't." Lisa shook her head as she put a piece of cake in her mouth, seemingly unconcerned. "There are so many security guards here. Before you even make a move, you'll be taken down."

Evelyn fell silent.

"Thank you! You saved me!" Evelyn found Lisa's description amusing.

Regardless, Lisa's intentions were good.

Lisa said with a smile, "There is no need to thank me! Just teach me how to make scented sachets. I really like them. I tried to make one myself, following your style, but I couldn't."

"Matthew is a top perfumer. Don't his perfumes have the scents you like?" Evelyn asked after some thought.

"They do, but perfume is different from your scented sachet. I carry it with me all the time, and it always maintains a lasting fragrance. I even like to keep it on my bedside when I sleep; it's very comforting. Evelyn, did you put some love potion in it? I feel like I'm falling in love with it!"

"If it were a love potion, Matthew would be able to tell right away, wouldn't he?" Evelyn looked around but couldn't see Matthew anymore.

"There is no need to look for him. My dad just made a brief appearance; he has important guests to attend to." Lisa seemed to know what Evelyn was looking for.

"Yes, those of us staying here are just ordinary guests." Evelyn nodded, not entirely disagreeing with Matthew's words.

She pondered, 'Life isn't fair, and differential treatment is normal.'

What Evelyn was unhappy about was Matthew's neglectful attitude.

"There's a lot I heard you say just now, and I actually admire you!" Lisa burst into laughter without reservation.

"Admire me?" Evelyn asked.

"Yes! I've never seen anyone dare to talk to my dad like that in all my life. I saw his face change earlier; it was really funny." Lisa laughed openly.

Evelyn was a bit surprised. "Are you praising me? Should I feel touched and honored to be the first person to anger Matthew?"

"Allow yourself to be proud for a moment!" Lisa said.

Evelyn replied, "Aren't you angry?"

Giving Evelyn a strange look, Lisa said, "Why should I be angry? What you said is true. My dad is indeed a bit snobbish. He's proud and doesn't regard just anyone highly. He's used to being flattered.

"His status, position, and strength are indeed worthy of praise."

In fact, Evelyn had also explored some of Matthew's works, and she liked some of his most classic pieces, but she had never met Matthew.

"Forget about my dad. What have you been up to these past few years? Have you become the perfumer master of Vistalia?" Lisa joked.

"Me?" Evelyn sighed, thinking these past few years had been really hard to describe!

Upon hearing Evelyn sigh, Lisa was taken aback. She was about to ask Evelyn what was wrong when she heard a voice calling her name. "Hey, Lisa, long time no see!"

Lisa turned her head and saw a somewhat familiar woman smiling at her. "It's been years. You've become even more beautiful! I almost didn't recognize you!"
