Chapter 191 Very Thoughtful

As the road stretched out, Evelyn got totally mesmerized by the scenery on both sides: patches of purple flower seas and lavender fields. This season was wrapping up, though. Most of the flowers had been harvested, and the rest were being collected in a rush.

The air was filled with a faint floral fragrance, refreshing her senses.

"It's awesome." She looked up, letting the wind mixed with the fragrance of flowers surround her, soaking in nature's beauty.

"To be honest, flower-watching isn't as great this season, but hey, there are other awesome things you might enjoy," Samuel said while driving.

She glanced at Samuel and smiled, "The most famous thing here is lavender. Starting in June every year, flower farmers start harvesting flowers like crazy, then they distill and extract the essence to make all sorts of aromatherapy products, essential oils, perfumes, soaps, and stuff. You're not taking me to see that, are you?"

"You nailed it!" He sighed, sounding a bit bummed, but then he continued, "Since you guessed it all, what else is there to surprise you with!"

Samuel looked at Evelyn with a smile, focused on the road ahead, and slightly sped up the car.

Intrigued by his words and the chill vibe, she didn't ask any more questions and let him drive her around.

Passing through vast flower fields and small roads, they arrived at a bustling town.

Even though there were many tall buildings here, they still kept some medieval style. People walked through the streets, bustling in the market. Some were in a hurry, while others seemed a bit laid-back. The mix of these elements created a unique scene.

The air was filled not only with the fragrance of lavender but also with a sense of joy.

After parking the car, Samuel took Evelyn's hand and strolled leisurely along a charming street without bodyguards or any fuss. No one recognized them; they were just a regular couple. She enjoyed this casual and relaxed feeling without any burdens.

"So, you drove all this way and refused to go back to the country just to go shopping?" Evelyn teased Samuel, but deep down, she kinda liked it.

"Of course not." Just as Samuel finished speaking, he turned and led her into a shop.

It was a shop with a very unique decoration. From the outside, you might not see anything different, but once you entered, you'd be drawn in by the various exquisite small items inside.

Most of the decorations and ornaments in the shop were brown and green, with varying shades, but the overall color tone was very consistent, giving a comfortable and fresh feeling.

"This place is super interesting!" She glanced around and turned to him.

"Can you see what's special about this place?" He asked with a smile.

There weren't many people in the shop; some customers were making purchases, chatting softly, and occasionally bursting into laughter. She strolled slowly, first seeing a "heart" placed on the shelf. It was intricately carved and lifelike, but even the heart was light brown instead of red. Evelyn stood in front of the "heart," leaned forward slightly, and took a deep breath.

A faint fragrance, mixed with a hint of food, made Evelyn squint her eyes. She wanted to reach out and touch it but was stopped by a voice. "Excuse me, please don't touch it!"

Evelyn responded, "Sorry, I just think it's beautiful."

Since touching was off-limits, she held back! But being so close, and with that fragrance, Evelyn already had a pretty good idea.

She smiled. "This place is super intriguing."

Samuel asked, "Then, guess what material this heart is made of?"

The shop assistant next to them was about to speak but was stopped by Samuel's look. Looking all confident, like he was sure Evelyn couldn't guess, Samuel was a bit surprised when Evelyn immediately nailed it. "Marseille soap. Did you think I wouldn't know?"

"I haven't seen it directly, but given the path you guided me through and the local offerings, I had a feeling. Marseille soap stands out," Evelyn paused before adding, "It's crafted predominantly from olive oil, giving it a distinct color and fragrance unlike typical soaps."

"Oh, so you know." Samuel fell silent for a moment before speaking slowly.

There was a hint of disappointment in his voice, like the surprise he had carefully planned for Evelyn didn't go as expected.

She saw him in a different light for the first time, finding his expression both amusing and heartwarming. Regardless, he had put a lot of thought into it!

"I know, but I haven't seen it." Evelyn linked arms with Samuel and leaned against him, saying, "I came across Marseille soap in my research before, so I can recognize it now. But seeing it for the first time, especially in such unique shapes, is really something!"

Evelyn wasn't just consoling Samuel; it was indeed the first time she had seen Marseille soap crafted into various small ornaments and handicrafts.

Each piece in the shop, whether a decoration or a pendant, was carved from Marseille soap. Although they were made of soap, the ornaments were delicate and lifelike. For example, there was a pen holder that was quite interesting, as well as a toy bear-shaped item with vivid eyes. Evelyn liked them at first sight.

However, due to the special material, touching them might affect their appearance or the warmth of the hands could cause the soap to melt slightly, so touching was a no-go.

Upon closer look, Evelyn noticed that many corners had signs warning against touching. She had been too excited earlier to notice them.

"Marseille soap is not uncommon in this area, but this shop is indeed very thoughtful, and their Marseille soap is different from elsewhere, still insisting on handmade production." Samuel picked up a piece and showed it to Evelyn.

Before the shop assistant could stop him, Samuel had already picked it up. Evelyn quickly said to the shop assistant, "We'll buy it."

Then she turned to Samuel, disapprovingly saying, "The shop staff said not to touch it!"

Samuel chuckled. "But didn't you also say we should buy it?"

"But..."

"Mr. Whitman, I have been waiting for you for a while!" Lucas Parker entered the shop and warmly extended his hands towards Samuel.
