Chapter 72 The Ardently Proactive Young Wife
It had been a day of ups and downs for Vivian.
She almost felt herself sinking into the boundless deep sea, descending into its depths. However, it was Rosen who pulled her back in that crucial moment.
On the way back to the hotel, her heart was in turmoil. She couldn't describe the mix of emotions she was feeling. Rosen held her hand, and she didn't pull away.
Silence, a silent hush.
In the air lingered a disquieting presence, restlessly, pulsatingly, stirring an irresistible urge.
Rosen held her hand, his thumb rubbing against her palm, causing her heart to race even more.
Upon alighting from the car at the hotel, Vivian was led by him into the elevator. As soon as the doors closed, he abruptly turned, pressing her between himself and the elevator.
"Mr. Rosen!" she exclaimed, her hands on his chest.
Rosen's eyes blazed with fervent fire, his breath as fiery as his gaze, washing over her face with a hint of a wine-scented allure, causing Vivian's heart to race incessantly.
"Vivian, I have helped you today, and you ought to express gratitude towards me." With one hand pressed against the back of her head, he caressed her lips with his other hand, smudging off her lipstick.
"I..." Before Vivian could even articulate a word, she was abruptly silenced by his forceful kiss.
He wouldn't tolerate any form of rejection from her.
Vivian was left so breathless, she had not an iota of strength left to resist him. She let out a soft grunt, instinctively attempting to resist. However, she was no match for his overwhelming strength.
The elevator chimed, its doors opening slowly as it reached Vivian's floor.
At that moment, Rosen paused, releasing a hand to create some space, turning sideways so she could catch a glimpse of the hallway outside.
Without much deliberation, Vivian rushed out abruptly.
But just as she stood outside the elevator, she heard Rosen's voice. "Vivian, I have many flaws, and my biggest one is impatience. I can give you a chance. However, there won't be so many opportunities waiting for you. Tonight is your last chance, understand?"
Vivian didn't dare to answer until she heard the sound of the elevator starting up, and then she slowly turned around.
He was already gone.
However, she did not let out a sigh, the fiery heat lingering on her lips, reminding her of the madness that had just occurred, and most importantly, Rosen's words!
She knew, Rosen was certainly not joking. He could stand her up once, humiliating her, yet he could also extend a helping hand to place her in a circle of honor. He possessed this ability, a fact she need not doubt.
Tonight, if she were to reject him again, she feared that even if she later changed her mind, she might not have another chance.
Struggling with intense inner conflict, she instinctively placed a hand on her abdomen, unsure of what to do next.
Evelyn was supposed to return to the hotel with Cathy, but Cathy received a phone call halfway. "Really? Where? Now?"
As she spoke, she glanced at Evelyn once again.
"May I accompany you?" Evelyn Inquired through lip reading.
Cathy didn't reply. She attentively absorbed the other party's words, then nodded in succession. "Fine, I comprehend. I shall depart immediately! Rest assured!""
It wasn't until she hung up the phone that Evelyn asked, "What's going on? Where are you headed?"
"The company has purchased a batch of spices and wants me to go take a look," she nodded and replied.
"In that case, I'll accompany you," Evelyn promptly spoke.
However, Cathy shook her head. "Don't bother. They said I have to go alone, and I can't bring you."
Perhaps fearing her misunderstanding, Cathy quickly explained, "This doesn't necessarily mean that they don't trust you. Sometimes the issue lies not in the company, but in the other party. As you know, some second parties always have peculiar regulations. However, it's not a big deal. Anyway, the company's car will take me there, and the driver will be present. I will just take a look when I arrive, sign a document, and then return."
"I understand." she nodded. "But it's late, I'm a bit worried about you going alone."
"Don't worry!" Cathy smiled and patted her forehead. "It's not my first business trip. I've traveled to many places on my own. I'm the one taking you, not the other way around this time! I don't need you to protect me."
"Well, make sure your phone is charged, and keep in touch with me at all times. Be careful when you get there. There might be some villians." Evelyn was still a little worried, reminding her again and again.
"Okay, captain!" Cathy said as she handed her the room key, "You go back and rest first. You've had a tiring day, and you have to go on a trip tomorrow."
"Okay!"
Taking the room key, Evelyn got out of the car alone at the hotel entrance.
Watching the car disappear into the distance, she contemplated Cathy's seemingly superior expertise in these matters, reassuring herself that all would proceed smoothly, especially since it was arranged by the company, indicating minimal cause for concern.
She entered the elevator, went upstairs, and returned to her room.
She swiped the room key to open the door, and just as she was about to reach out to turn on the light, someone grabbed her around the waist from behind.
"Who!" she exclaimed, and without thinking, she raised her foot and tried to step on the person with her high heels.
Unexpectedly, the person reacted quickly, dodging her attack, and when she turned around to hit with her elbow, it was also blocked. "Evelyn!"
Evelyn was startled, and she quickly eased up on her strength. Then she saw the person she had been longing for. "Samuel!"
"What brings you here?" Evelyn widened her eyes, fearing it might be her own illusion.
"I missed you!" he said so naturally, sweeping her into his arms, then carried her, stunned, into the room, turning on the light and closing the door.
Samuel smiled as he looked at her. He really liked the surprise he found in her eyes, which meant that his presence was what she liked.
In the next second, Evelyn suddenly opened her arms and hooked his neck, pulling him down, and said gently, "I missed you, too!"
Then, she took the initiative to kiss him.
Samuel was quite surprised. He didn't expect his wife to be so enthusiastic and even take the initiative to embrace him. It was wonderful!
He couldn't remain passive, naturally, it was time to intensify this long-awaited kiss!
