Chapter 94 If You Don't Want to, I Won't Force it
"You are right again," Evelyn laughed, sitting across from him, one hand supporting her cheek, looking up at him, "Is there anything you don't know?"
Samuel said, "There are many things I don't know, such as when you are willing to make us public?"
His earnest demeanor managed to elicit laughter from Evelyn. "Is Mr. Whitman, a man of such understated elegance, also seeking public validation?"
"Whether to be low-profile depends on the context." He poured a cup of coffee and placed it in front of her. "In this regard, I hope the more high-profile, the better!"
Being in love, he wanted to proclaim to the world to ensure everyone knew that she belonged to him, that she was his beloved, so that no one would harbor covetous desires, for all could only admire from afar.
Lowering her eyes, Evelyn reached out and held the small coffee cup, feeling full of happiness in her heart.
"By the way, there's a person named Rosen around them recently. You should stay away from him." Samuel reminded her, perhaps the thought just coming to him.
The coffee was still a bit hot. She had just touched the cup and paused upon hearing this. "What's wrong with him?"
This Rosen was indeed a bit strange.
He had been everywhere recently. Originally, she thought he was brought in to help by Liam, so it wasn't surprising to see him at these events frequently. However, his relationship with Vivian was unusual. He even attended as a special guest at the tasting event, and now Samuel was warning her to stay away. Who exactly was he?
"A rising star in the international fragrance industry, quite talented, has won several awards but also faced a lot of criticism. Some accuse him of plagiarism, and there are reports that his work has issues."
Setting down the coffee pot, Samuel also sat down, holding the coffee cup in thought."For the past half year, he has disappeared overseas. I didn't expect him to show up here. And..."
"He has a bad reputation." Taking a sip of coffee, nodding in satisfaction, Samuel looked at her unmoved coffee. "Try it! This is a unique variety here, a special small batch. There is not much in production, but it tastes quite good."
Since he recommended it so warmly, Evelyn took a small sip as well. Indeed, it was rich and fragrant, with a sweet aftertaste that left a pleasant sensation on the palate.
"Delicious." She nodded, her focus still on Rosen, and asked, "What does it mean that he has a bad reputation? Is it related to his private life?"
"Yes." After a moment of contemplation, Samuel nodded. "Some have accused him of sexual assault, but there's no concrete evidence, and it was eventually dropped. Later, there are whitewashed reports claiming it was a false accusation. Nonetheless, he is not straightforward. It's best to keep some distance from him. Better to stay away from him."
"I have no dealings with him." Even without all these scandals, she wouldn't want to get involved with anyone from Liavian Perfumes.
She could take in what he said. That was enough.
Samuel nodded slightly and took a few more sips of coffee as if remembering something. "How was yesterday?"
She ended up spitting out her coffee.
What did he mean by "how was yesterday"? Why did he suddenly jump to this topic? She was totally caught off guard!
Seeing her startled and blushing from coughing, Samuel felt both sorry and amused. "Is it so hard to answer this question?"
The more he spoke, the more embarrassed Evelyn became. She covered her mouth with her hand and avoided his gaze, but her mind was filled with memories of last night.
To be frank, the sensations from yesterday remained quite intricate. It was an enchanted experience, yet, considering it was the first time, pain was also inevitable. Coupled with her nervousness, reminiscing about it inevitably led to blushing embarrassment.
"It seems my performance didn't satisfy you." He sighed, taking another sip of coffee.
"It ..." Evelyn was about to say it was fine but then heard him continue.
"Then we must try it again."
Evelyn was speechless. Crafty fellow! He was waiting for her here.
"So, shall we try again?" He raised an eyebrow, a calculating smile on his lips.
Evelyn was speechless! After going through all this trouble, the topic circled back to the interrupted phone conversation.
"There's no need to try. I am very satisfied with your performance and fully acknowledge your skills!" She firmly refused, not letting his schemes succeed.
Such flattery didn't make him happy. Samuel's gaze swept over her indifferently. "You didn't say that before."
"Really? Maybe I wasn't thinking clearly outside. I don't even remember what I said."
Shrugging, Evelyn pretended to be clueless.
"So, do you need me to help you remember?" Setting down the coffee cup, he walked around the table towards her.
Seeing him approach, Evelyn subconsciously wanted to escape, but he grabbed her and made her sit on a high stool.
The stool was tall, coming up to his waist. When she perched on it and he stood nearby, a gentle tug from him brought her close, nearly nestling her against his waist
"Samuel." With her hands against his chest, she softened her voice, going from aggressive to resembling a gentle kitten.
"Don't be afraid!" Putting away his teasing, he became more serious, speaking softly, "Although our relationship has progressed further, I want to tell you that if you don't want to, I won't force it. This matter is only beautiful when both parties are willing. I won't go against your wish, understand?"
Evelyn didn't speak. She was teasing him, never expecting him to say such words.
Looking at his face and his sincere eyes, Evelyn's heart softened completely.
She raised her hand and gently caressed his face, her voice gentle. "Samuel, I am willing."
He took her hand and lightly kissed the back of it. "I know."
He was aware she was willing. It was precisely because he was aware and certain that he continued last night. If she had not been willing, he would have certainly stopped.
So, how fortunate! What he cherished and desired was also reciprocated to him.
Evelyn opened her arms, wrapped them around his waist, and buried her face in his chest, feeling very lucky.
She had only sought a transaction, but what she got far exceeded her imagination. She truly hit the jackpot!
Vivian was in a bad state. Her face was increasingly pale, and even her lips were dry and peeling. Liam looked at her with great concern. "Vivian, shall I take you to the hospital?"
Leaning against the bed, Vivian shook her head. "Don't bother. I'm just tired. I want to rest for a bit."
She closed her eyes, and Rosen's face filled her mind, and she suddenly broke out in a cold sweat.
In the bathroom just now, she didn't expect Rosen to be so bold, following her even in public places. Fortunately, he only kissed her and said a few words before leaving, without going further. However, she was still scared.
It wouldn't be good if others caught wind of it, not to mention the embarrassment if Liam found out.
She must found a way out!
