Chapter 131 Liavian Perfumes Couldn't Be Over!
When Liam woke up, he felt like his head was about to explode.
Liam was in great pain, especially his forehead. Even lifting his eyelids caused him a lot of pain, so he could only move with small movements.
Not only was his head hurting, but his chest and abdomen were also in pain. Liam tried to move his hands and feet, but he felt numbness below his thighs, with no sensation at all.
As Liam opened his eyes to survey his surroundings, all he could discern was an expanse of stark whiteness, a sight that instilled within him a profound sense of dread. His apprehension heightened upon noticing the intravenous drip to his right, intensifying his already burgeoning anxiety.
There was a faint sound of sobbing, but Liam couldn't see anyone around because turning his head was difficult.
Memories slowly returned. Liam remembered going to the lab to find Vivian and then seeing... After that, he drove out and had a car accident.
Yes! He had a car accident! So, He wasn't dead now? But why couldn't he feel his legs?
Thinking of what had happened, he was scared, trying to call out, "Is anyone there?"
Liam tried to sit up, but even this simple action was difficult for him. Fortunately, someone quickly rushed to his bedside. "Liam!"
Liam didn't expect that Vivian would be the first person he saw when he woke up. For a moment, he was very angry and blurted out, "Get out!"
"Liam..." Vivian said.
"You get out! I don't want to see you!" Liam didn't want to see Vivian, at least not now. Whenever he saw Vivian, all he could think of were those disgusting images!
He wanted to throw things to her, but he had no strength. He struggled hard only to loosen the needle on his arm.
"Don't get agitated, Liam. Let me call the nurse for you first. Don't worry. Stay composed!"
Vivian quickly found the nurse, who reinserted the needle for Liam and adjusted the drip rate. The nurse then instructed, "The medication has worn off. You can move a bit but don't make sudden movements. If the needle shifts, we'll have to insert it again."
Liam was puzzled. "Can I move my feet?"
"Of course!" The nurse looked at Liam strangely. "Once the medication wears off, you can. Just take it slow, step by step."
"Was my leg amputated?" Liam couldn't believe it, asking while trying to move his feet again.
Liam thought he had been amputated.
The tree was so big, and he crashed into it head-on, then he didn't remember anything.
Waking up in the hospital with no feeling in his legs, Liam naturally thought of amputations as seen in TV dramas.
"Who told you that you were amputated? There's no injury on your legs, just two broken ribs. The surgery went smoothly, but you need to rest well," After quickly explaining, the nurse added, "Don't move around recklessly!"
With that, the nurse left with the tray.
Prehaps because the effect of the anesthesia had worn off, Liam could actually feel his feet moving, albeit weakly but distinctly.
He tried to move his body more forcefully, but he couldn't see his legs, only the blanket covering him.
Guessing what Liam wanted to do, Vivian quickly stepped forward to help Liam uncover the blanket and gently squeezed his leg. "Look, no amputation. You're fine! Trust me. You're okay!"
"Trust you?" Liam glanced at Vivian, sneering. "I trusted you too much!"
Liam sighed. Vivian covered him with the blanket again before standing up. "I know you're very angry with me now, maybe even want to kill me! But Liam, I didn't lie to you. I had no other options! It's for our future. I know this has hurt you a lot. You may hit or curse me as you wish. However, right now, you must stay calm and not harm yourself, okay?"
Vivian's voice remained as gentle as ever, her eyes filled with apologies and concern. Liam remained silent, his face serious, but he didn't tell Vivian to leave.
"Do you know that when I heard about your car accident, my heart was shattered! I was really scared, scared of losing you like this! Liam, I don't want to lose you. I love you!" She gently held Liam's left hand and whispered.
Liam still didn't speak, and he withdrew his hand from Vivian's palm.
Seeing Liam's reaction, Vivian didn't give up and continued, "The lab has already tested it, and the new product is completely fine! In other words, our new product has been successfully developed. Even if you're still angry, don't be angry about this. Liam, I believe that this new product will absolutely bring miracles to the company!"
After a moment of silence, Liam asked, "Was the perfume formula this time given to you by him?"
Pausing briefly, Liam quickly mentioned "him", as if saying it slower would sully himself.
Of course, Liam didn't even bother to mention Rosen.
Vivian naturally knew who Liam was referring to and didn't deny it. "Yes."
"You took him to the lab to improve the formula without telling me, right?" Liam raised his eyelids, staring at her face as if trying to discern the truth from Vivian's expression.
"Yes!" Vivian nodded affirmatively.
Relaxing a bit, Liam chuckled mockingly, a bitter smile on his face.
"Liam, I admit I've wronged you. But I really did it for our future, for Liavian Perfumes," Vivian continued, "You are well aware of the extent of my abilities, and you also know the capabilities of the lab team. Since Evelyn caused trouble, the company's sales have been declining day by day, and our reputation has been plummeting. Moreover, the last production line issue almost destroyed the company."
"If we don't develop a new product soon, increase sales, and win the award at the annual competition, the company is really in danger!" Vivian spoke seriously, but Liam seemed unresponsive.
"Do you think I don't know that the board of directors is putting pressure on you?!" Vivian said, "If we don't show further development in the next two months, how are we to manage? How will you handle it? What about me? And what implications would this have for Liavian Perfumes?!"
Vivian's words finally elicited a different reaction from Liam.
Liam's lips twitched slightly, and she slowly closed her eyes. Her chest visibly rose and fell strongly.
He sighed slowly.
Regardless of whether he liked it or not, Liam had to admit that what she said was true.
On the surface, Liavian Perfumes seemed the same as before. In reality, it had already fallen apart. While outsiders were unaware, Vivian knew it very well!
And if Liam didn't develop a new product soon to restore the market's reputation and prove his capabilities, the board of directors would withdraw their funding.
That would be the end of it!
However, Liavian Perfumes couldn't be over!
