Chapter 85 She Could Endure Anything!
As Evelyn's car disappeared into the distance, Vivian finally withdrew her gaze, turned around, and took Rosen's arm, saying, "You promised me that you would provide me with what I desire."
"What's wrong?" Rosen asked with a smile, patting her cheek.
"I want Evelyn to fall from grace, never able to hold her head up high again!" She looked into the distance with hatred, even though the car had long disappeared.
Following her gaze, Rosen smiled and said, "I heard that you were classmates."
"Yes, but I hate her, more than anyone else," She declared unabashedly in front of Rosen.
"Why?"
"When we were in school, even though I was not lacking in talent, the mentor favored her, giving her all the good opportunities. Whenever we competed, she always outshone me, even in relationships..." She paused and said, "It seems like as long as she's around, I'll never have a chance to shine. She'll always be stepping on me."
"This time in Tedia, we happened to run into her, and she was even flying first class, with luxury cars picking her up. Why is it that everyone treats her so well, despite the legal troubles she carries and her tarnished reputation?" Taking a deep breath, she exclaimed, "This is truly unjust!"
Turning away, Rosen smiled faintly, placing a hand on her shoulder and gently massaging it. "She might just be a bit lucky. But your luck isn't bad either because you've met me."
Upon hearing him say this, Vivian felt a bit more at ease, leaning into his embrace. "It's you who said it, so you must help me!"
"I have always maintained that as long as you satisfy me, I will undoubtedly reciprocate and ensure your satisfaction as well," he whispered, planting a meaningful kiss on her locks.
"Okay," Nodding, Vivian said gently.
Rosen drove, but after a while, they were still on endless country roads, with no sight of city buildings.
"Is it so far?" She couldn't help but exclaim, remembering that the road wasn't this long when they arrived.
As they spoke, the car came to a stop.
"What's wrong? Is the car malfunctioning?" Turning her head to look around, she asked in confusion.
With one hand on the steering wheel, Rosen turned to look at her, then turned off the engine.
"Rosen?" Seeing his expression, Vivian suddenly felt anxious. Could he be thinking...
"Vivian," he called her name, running his tongue over his lips, "Have you ever ventured into thrilling pursuits?"
Vivian's back was pressed close against the car door, her eyes widened, and her voice trembled slightly. "What thrilling pursuits, Rosen? This place is so desolate. I'm a bit afraid. Perhaps we should return to the hotel first. We can, uh... continue after we're back at the hotel."
Rosen had already grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards him. "It's so boring just at the hotel! People should try new things."
His actions were always rough and reckless, unlike Liam, who would consider her feelings. If she called out or shed a tear, he would stop, but Rosen wouldn't, and she felt that her screams and cries only made him more excited and rough.
Enduring the discomfort in her body, she continued to speak in a friendly tone, "Rosen, it's really not safe here, and there might be people passing by. We should..."
"If people pass by, it'll be even more exciting." his eyes gleamed, paying no attention to her concerns.
"No, Rosen. I'm a little scared. Let's go back..."
Before the conversation could conclude, he suddenly released her hand, letting her go, though his expression was far from pleasant.
Upon witnessing his demeanor, Vivian found herself even more flustered. "I'm sorry, Rosen, I..."
He turned his head, the golden-rimmed glasses reflecting a chilly gleam, his gaze devoid of any warmth. "Vivian, as I've mentioned before, if you wish to obtain what you desire, you must first satisfy me. Your behaviour just now was far from satisfying!"
With that, he casually lit a cigarette.
A puff of smoke billowed out, enveloping his face in a shroud of mist, casting his profile in a shadowy veil. As the sky darkened gradually, she couldn't possibly disembark and leave on her own.
Moreover, she had already put in so much effort. How could she give up at this moment?
Biting her lip, Vivian thought seriously, then softly said, "Rosen, please don't be upset. I was just a bit overwhelmed momentarily. Upon reflection, you are right. Life is about seizing the moment, and I am willing to embrace whatever you choose to do, as long as you treat me well!"
"Honey, that's right. I will definitely treat you well!" He casually pinched her chin. This time, Rosen did not forcefully approach her. Instead, he leaned back in his chair, adjusted the recline angle, and then patted his thigh, gesturing to her.
Vivian, with a determined look, reluctantly made her way over and sat on his lap, facing him.
Rosen blew a puff that landed on her face, making her cough.
Enduring all this with gritted teeth, she whispered to herself, "All this is the price to pay for what I desire. For the future, I can endure anything!"
Upon reaching the hotel entrance, Vivian slouched in her seat, resistant to any movement, her body exhausted to the extreme. Despite urging herself to endure a little longer, she was uncertain how much more her fatigued form could withstand.
Rosen seemed to have endless energy and tricks. She was really starting to feel overwhelmed.
"Vivian, we have arrived," he turned to her, speaking gently.
Outwardly, he resumed his courteous and genteel gentlemanly demeanor, but now she knew that he wore two faces, public and private, a realization that instilled a hint of fear in the depths of her heart.
"Well, I'll go back to my room first," she said wearily, unbuckling her seatbelt.
Rosen smiled, leaning towards her, "Go back to whose room?"
Although she felt a bit resistant inside, she still forced a smile and said, "Rosen, don't tease me. I'm really tired. Let me rest first, okay?"
"Of course!" He kissed her cheek, then straightened up, sitting upright.
She opened the car door and got out, watching him drive towards the underground parking lot, then walked into the hotel with weary steps.
Just as she entered the lobby, she saw a person standing there, his gaze dark and unpredictable. Although he hadn't spoken yet, she already had a hunch that something bad was about to happen.
Vivian's heart trembled slightly as she spoke, "Liam."
