Chapter 139 Why Were He So peculiar?
"I need to use the restroom."
Evelyn wanted to leave by using the restroom as an excuse, but Samuel wouldn't let Evelyn off that easily. He tightened his arms around her, holding her firmly. "No, finish talking before you go!"
"Hey, I really need to pee!" What Evelyn said earlier was just a slip of the tongue. Now, deliberately saying the word made it hard for her to get them out.
"Since it's urgent, say it quickly. It's just a matter of one sentence." Samuel leaned against Evelyn's nose, his eyes fixed on hers, coaxing softly. "Come on, say it again."
"I..." Evelyn's cheeks flushed, her heart beating rapidly. Unable to bear it any longer, she pushed Samuel away, sat up straight, hands on her hips, and said, "You are a wonderful husband. What's wrong with that?"
Despite Evelyn's fierce demeanor, deep down, she lacked confidence. Her face was all red, resembling the red glow on the horizon.
Samuel's smile widened at the corner of his lips, pretending to nod solemnly. "No. I'm proud to have a wife like you."
Evelyn fell silent.
Feet on the ground, Evelyn stood up. "I'm going to the restroom!"
Watching Evelyn hurriedly leave, Samuel burst into laughter.
Glancing around, he noticed two wooden figurines on a shelf next to him, looking very cheerful. He got up and picked one up, and the faint scent of wood drifted into his nose.
When Evelyn came out of the bathroom, she saw Samuel holding the spoils she had just acquired, looking quite pleased. "How about that? My choice is not bad, right?"
"Not bad, one boy and one girl." Samuel nodded seriously.
"Yes! The facial expressions of them are very vividly carved, and the wood is also exquisite. You know, I found a good store today. I think the scent of their wood is quite special, and it doesn't seem like ordinary scented wood. I want to explore the feasibility of it!"
Evelyn said with great interest, but she didn't realize that Samuel's focus was completely different from hers.
"Good, very good!" Samuel held one in his hand, examining it closely.
After a while, he suddenly turned around and said to Evelyn, who was talking behind him, "If you have this idea, why didn't you tell me?"
"What?" Evelyn was stunned, thinking Samuel was talking about extracting scents from wood. She continued, "I only thought of it after discovering this store this afternoon. Besides, it's just a preliminary idea. I haven't figured out how to implement it yet."
After speaking, Samuel grabbed Evelyn by the waist and pulled her close to him. "Implementing it is simple; we can do it now!"
Then, Samuel leaned in to kiss her.
Evelyn raised her hand to stop Samuel's actions. "What are you doing?"
"Implementing it! Since you have a preliminary idea, you should realize it as soon as possible. Although we may not be able to bear two children at once, one by one is also possible. Anyway, we must strive for it!" Samuel wore an expression of unwavering entitlement.
Evelyn's mind went blank. She stared at Samuel for several seconds before reacting. She raised her hand and punched Samuel's shoulder. "Are you crazy?"
Samuel winced in pain. "I know it was my negligence that you brought this up, but it's not too late for us to strive now."
"When did I? When did I!!" Evelyn was shocked, feeling indescribable. "When did I say I wanted to have children with you? When did I bring it up?"
Evelyn didn't remember mentioning wanting to have children. Why did Samuel suddenly bring this up and talk about striving for it?
Releasing his hold on Evelyn, Samuel turned around, picked up the two wooden figurines he had set down, and shook one in front of her eyes. "You bought this. Isn't it implying that you want a boy and a girl?"
Why Was his train of thought so eccentric?
Evelyn was deeply impressed.
"I didn't mean that. I just passed by a wood carving shop, went in, looked around, and then found these two little figures very cute, so I bought them on a whim. It's not what you understood. I absolutely didn't mean that!" Evelyn said.
This time, Evelyn explained it clearly, so there shouldn't be any misunderstandings!
Samuel probably understood. With a momentary look of disappointment in his eyes, he nodded. "I see."
Seeing Samuel's disappointed look, Evelyn felt a bit guilty for a moment. Was she being overly straightforward? Did he really look forward to having children? But she hadn't even thought about that question yet.
Just as she was lost in thought, she heard Samuel say again, "It's okay! Even if there was no such intention, it's okay to consider it now! Why don't we think about it?"
"Samuel, leave me alone!"
Rarely, Evelyn roared out loud. Just two seconds of guilt from Evelyn earlier, and Samuel's thoughts seemed to have progressed much faster than Evelyn's.
Let Samuel slowly understand those implications!
Late at night.
The hospital was very quiet. It was not visiting hours, and most patients were resting, but there were always exceptions.
After Liam's accident, he stayed in a single room. Two days later, he was transferred to a VIP room, where he received quite a good treatment.
At this moment, Liam wasn't feeling sleepy. His eyes were fixed on the faint starlight outside the window, lost in thought.
The ward door clicked twice, then was pushed open from the outside. The first to enter was a man looking like a bodyguard. He glanced inside, confirming that only Liam was in the room, before nodding outside.
Then, a woman in a black trench coat, wrapped in a large scarf on her head and wearing large sunglasses, walked in.
Standing by the bedside, Ava stared at Liam for a while, but Liam showed no sign of turning around as if he had no idea someone had come.
After a moment of silence, Ava took off her sunglasses and called his name, "Liam."
