Chapter 67 I've Missed You
Vivian didn't receive Rosen's call after she got ready. She went straight to his room because her heart filled with a sense of foreboding.
She pressed the doorbell repeatedly, but it was the hotel staff who appeared. "Miss, what can I do for you?" the staff inquired.
"I'm looking for Mr. Rosen. He's not answering, and I'm worried," Vivian explained anxiously.
"Oh, Mr. Rosen left half an hour ago," the staff replied with a smile.
"Left? No, that can't be!" Vivian exclaimed in disbelief.
"We were supposed to go together. Mr. Rosen didn't even call me. How is that possible?" Vivian muttered.
Suddenly, a thought struck her, and her heart began to race. Was it because of her earlier rejection?
No, it couldn't be!
He had said he wouldn't force her as long as they were both happy. Surely, he wouldn't exclude her from the event just because she declined. She had an invitation, too, but it couldn't compare to his.
With these thoughts, she quickly dialed his number, but no one answered. Confronted with the harsh reality, she realized that she had been stood up. Rosen was using this to show her that if she refused, she wouldn't get anything from him.
Gritting her teeth, she knew time was running out and decided to make her way to the venue.
"Do you plan to take part in the Tasting Event wearing this?" Cathy looked at Evelyn unpleasingly, who just wore an ordinary dress.
"Is something wrong?" Evelyn asked as she glanced at her dress. Though it was ordinary, it embodied the current trend of simplicity and elegance.
"Yes, it's not good at all!" Cathy replied and shook her head in disagreement.
"This time, we're representing the company. Your outfit is decent, but it's also embarrassing for the company," Cathy chided.
"What should I do? Should I change?" Evelyn asked. She only brought a few clothes with her, considering the weather and the fact that the event only lasted a day.
"I've seen your clothes, and they won't fit! How about you wear mine?" Cathy suggested it and headed to her luggage.
"Yours?" Evelyn questioned.
"What's wrong with that? I've checked, and our figures are quite similar. Although my clothes aren't brand new, they've only been worn a couple of times. It shouldn't be too much of a compromise for you," Cathy said as she pulled out a black strapless dress from her suitcase.
The hem was a bit long, but Cathy's height was enough to carry it. With her porcelain skin, the black dress against her skin created a visually stunning effect.
"Does it fit me?" Evelyn asked, doubtful.
After being with Liam, it had been a long time since Evelyn had attended such an event or worn such clothes. During that time, she had been contented with simple and ordinary happiness, but even that was hard to come by.
"It fits you perfectly," Cathy complimented, turning her around and was extremely satisfied. "I think you look better in it than I do. I'm giving it to you."
"I can't accept that," Evelyn said, trying to refuse.
"Come on, don't be so hesitant. You're not at all like you were when you first arrived," Cathy said and pretended to be angry.
Cathy insisted, "As long as you don't mind my clothes, wear them. It's almost time for us to leave."
Evelyn smiled. If there wasn't a time constraint, she really wanted to ask what she was like when she first arrived.
It was still the Rolls-Royce, which surprised Cathy. She was truly amazed when she saw this car at the airport. The company was really generous this time!
Considering that she had been with Neogenito Fragrances for a long time, there were many business trips, but when had she ever experienced this level of treatment?
Usually, a Mercedes-Benz would be considered luxurious.
Later, when she returned to the hotel, she specifically called Nasir, afraid that the company had made a mistake or that the company had to receive some important person here.
Nasir told her to rest assured and said that the company attached great importance to this event and asked them to perform well and enjoy the highest standard of treatment throughout.
The highest standard, she thought the first class and Rolls-Royce pick-up were the only upgrades already considered for their arrival, but unexpectedly, this car was also for attending the event!
How many days did the company rent?
Compared to her trembling disbelief, Evelyn had already turned from the initial surprise to calmness.
It was just another one of his means.
It was indeed amazing for Neogenito Fragrances and ordinary employees, but for him, it was not even a drop in the bucket.
In the afternoon, when she wanted to give him a call, his phone was turned off, and she didn't know what he was busy with. Maybe he was in a meeting?
Evelyn didn't realize she was thinking about him again until she came to her senses. It hadn't been long since she left, and she didn't know how many times she had thought of him.
This kind of missing was silent, but it was like a huge invisible net, densely weaving her.
'Samuel, I miss you a little!' Evelyn thought.
"At this time's tasting event, I heard that several well-known senior perfumers would come. We are mainly here to observe, so don't feel too much pressure; listen and watch more." Cathy, with her experience, introduced and reminded her.
"Okay, I understand," Evelyn replied. She nodded in response.
When she heard Evelyn's reply, Cathy nodded and continued, "Later, I will introduce you to some industry colleagues, but you don't have to take it to heart. The rules of mutual jealousy among colleagues are universal. Just be a little cautious."
As she spoke, Evelyn nodded, and when she finished, Evelyn suddenly asked, "Cathy, then we are also colleagues. Do we have to be jealous of each other?"
Cathy didn't say anything and glared at her.
Seeing the smile on her face, she knew she was joking.
Cathy snorted, "You? At least you have to be qualified to make me jealous. Do you think anyone can make me jealous?"
"That makes sense!" Evelyn replied and laughed.
"Don't joke with me!" Evelyn chided, playfully. She pushed Cathy gently, and Cathy laughed too.
It was hard to imagine that just over half a month ago, the relationship between the two was very bad, but now, they have become the best of friends.
The friendship between women can sometimes be hard to come by.
The venue was arranged at the most luxurious hotel in Tedia.
Although it was only a small-scale event in the industry, it also attracted many journalists who set up cameras early and waited to shoot important scenes.
Every car that drove up stopped at the hotel's entrance, and after getting out of the vehicle, they walked in along the red carpet.
The lights were dazzling, and there were always people who wanted to be the focus of this feast.
At this moment, Vivian was sitting in the car, looking across the street, and she didn't let the driver pass.
