Chapter 90 What Good News.

Although she had made up her mind, Vivian still couldn't be as calm as she wanted to be. After the dishes were served, she kept staring at the steak in front of her, cutting it slowly into small pieces.

In contrast, the two men were more casual.

"Rosen, I haven't had the chance to thank you for help yet. You were right. After adjusting according to your prescription, everything is back to normal as before in the factory. Although there was a delay in delivery for a few days, we managed to make up for it. The clients also expressed their understanding. All of this owed to your efforts. I'm really appreciated." Liam raised his glass, sincerely thanking him.

Rosen smiled faintly, "It was nothing."

He also raised his glass, the sound of the clinking glasses making Vivian sit up a bit straighter.

"What's wrong?" Liam immediately noticed her reaction and asked with concern.

She shook her head, smiled lightly, and said, "I'm just a bit tired. It's okay."

"You need to rest more." He glanced at the plate in front of her. "Don't just cut. You should eat ,too! Here!"

With a fork, Liam speared a small piece of steak and offered it to her, but Vivian hesitated, a hint of reluctance apparent.

In the past, she would have eaten without a second thought, but now, she glanced sideways, catching Rosen's gaze fixed upon them, or more accurately, upon her.

He was smiling, yet his expression sent shivers down her spine.

"Don't bother, Liam, I'll eat on my own."

She instinctively tried to decline, but Liam persisted. "Come on, open your mouth!"

Helpless, she obediently opened her mouth and ate a small piece of steak.

Liam was enjoying this, feeding her more, and she had to keep eating. After several times, she had eaten about half a steak and couldn't eat anymore. She shook her head. "I really can't eat anymore."

Feeling nauseous, she hurried towards the restroom without looking back.

"Sorry for the trouble," Liam looked back at Rosen, smiling slightly, "Please don't mind. Vivian is pregnant."

Rosen raised an eyebrow, looking at him. There was a hint of undisguised satisfaction in his expression as if he were a victor.

Rosen also smiled and raised his glass towards him, "Is that so? What good news!"

Perhaps Rosen's reaction was too subdued, surprising Liam slightly.

He had always suspected Rosen's intentions towards Vivian, his gaze filled with malice. Yet today, although he deliberately asserted his claim, defined his relationship with Vivian, and even revealed she was carrying his child, there was no trace of displeasure in Rosen's demeanor, not even a hint of emotional disturbance. In fact, Liam even felt that Rosen genuinely shared in their happiness.

Could it be that he had been overly suspicious, that things were not as he had assumed?

Upon reflection, it made sense. Rosen held a position of influence, power, and wealth, likely acquainted with numerous beauties. Moreover, since he was introduced through Ava, surely Rosen must be a friend of Ava. Why would he harbor desires for his girlfriend? Perhaps he had been too hasty in forming his judgment.

Thinking about it, Liam suddenly felt relieved. He smiled openly at him and raised his glass, saying, "Thank you!" Then he drank all the wine in it.

Rosen smiled meaningfully, a glint passing through his eyes behind the golden glasses.

"By the way, how long will you stay domestically? Do you have any intention of developing here?" Since he had eliminated the barrier in his heart, he returned to the topic, wanting to recruit Rosen.

"Not sure." He refilled his glass and swirled the wine in the glass, his eyes fixed on the color of the wine in the cup.

"Since you're not sure, does that mean you have the intention? If so, do you have a preference for any particular company here? If possible, would you consider Liavian Perfumes?" Liam deliberately misinterpreted his meaning.

Glancing at him, Rosen raised his lips slightly.

Was he not aware that it was just a humble company, daring to even make such a request of him?

Arching an eyebrow, Rosen inquired, "Do you have a number in mind for my salary?"

Liam, not one to be easily duped, discerned a hint of derision in the tone, yet he harbored no offense. With its own limitations, Liavian Perfumes did fell short in resources compared to those corporate giants.

Nevertheless, seated here in conversation with Rosen, he naturally exuded a sense of confidence in negotiating terms.

"Certainly, Liavian Perfumes may not possess the opulence of larger corporations, so the compensation we offer may not measure up."

"In that case, what compelling reason do you have to persuade me into choosing Liavian Perfumes?" With a nonchalant grip on his glass of wine, Rosen absentmindedly gazed around, his eyes drifting without settling on any focal point.

"Although the salary might be a bit less, I assure you that I can provide benefits and opportunities that no other company can match. Since you were introduced by Ms. Mitchell and have already extended a helping hand, we could consider ourselves friends. Any conditions you wish to propose, I will endeavor to meet. Moreover, you need not heed anyone within the company except me. I will grant you absolute freedom and room to maneuver, a privilege perhaps unmatched elsewhere."

Pausing briefly, Liam continued confidently, "Furthermore, I believe given your current stature and status, monetary concerns may not weigh heavily on your mind. What you likely value more is personal growth and future prospects, areas where I can offer ample support!"

Liam spoke confidently, feeling that the conditions he offered were definitely generous enough. Other companies couldn't offer him with such an unrestricted environment.

He looked at him with great confidence, and Rosen, who had been playing with his glass, stopped. He steadied the glass on the table and looked up at Liam. "But you're wrong!"

Liam was puzzled.

"First, I may not care about many things, but I do care about money! Salary is definitely the most important reason for me to choose a job. I am a perfumer to make money, and you run a business to make money as well." His words made Liam feel embarrassed as if he had been choked.

"Second!" he continued, "For so many years, no matter which company I signed with, the freedom to create has always been a necessary condition. I don't quite understand why you see this as an advantage to discuss with me."

Liam remained silent.
