Chapter 11 This Was His Wedding Night

Evelyn was nervous, her hands hung by her sides as she unconsciously tightened the bedsheet.

While she had only heard about it through TV and novels, the anticipation of potential pain filled her with anxiety and fear.

Samuel attentively noticed her nervousness and stopped at a crucial moment. He looked at her closed eyes and said, "If you're not ready yet, we can wait."

Evelyn trembled as she heard his words, suddenly opening her eyes to see sincerity and respect in his gaze. The sensation of being cherished washed over her, prompting her to release the sheet and wrap her arms around his neck. "I can do it! You can continue..."

Her words trailed off as a sudden rush of warmth enveloped her beneath.

She froze.

Noticing the shift in her expression, Samuel also picked up on something amiss and cast his eyes downward.

'Don't look!' she almost whispered, a rush of familiarity flooding her senses, though this felt like too much of a coincidence!

But it was already too late.

Samuel's gaze landed on the still vivid patch of red on the bedsheet, its bold hue stark against the light fabric, suggestive of both shyness and a hint of playfulness.

With her legs drawn up, Evelyn snatched the nearby pillow and buried her face in it, overcome with embarrassment.

Observing her reaction, Samuel swiftly deduced the situation. Since he hadn't instigated anything yet, it couldn't possibly be what he initially feared. There was only one plausible explanation.

The fiery passion within him was abruptly quenched, drowned by a sudden wave of cold reality. Rising to his feet, he felt torn between a sigh and a chuckle. He paused momentarily, then stooped down to lift her once more.

"What are you doing?" Evelyn panicked when he lifted her up. The pillow slipped from her face, and she had nowhere to hide. Her eyes were filled with fear.

"Don't worry, I'm not someone driven by mere desire," he said expressionlessly.

With that, he carried her into the bathroom and gently set her down. Adjusting the water temperature with the showerhead, he handed it to her. "I'll be waiting outside,"he added before exiting.

Evelyn remained stunned for a moment before regaining her composure.

The water temperature was just right, and it felt comfortable as it poured down on her body. Samuel was considerate and knew how to take care of people. She couldn't believe that the Samuel known for his ruthlessness in business was actually like this in private.

After washing up, she felt complicated.

An embarrassing problem arose: she didn't have pads.

Due to the recent incidents involving "First Love," she had been preoccupied and had even forgotten about her menstrual cycle. And today, it came early, likely due to her exhaustion.

She wondered, 'Does the hotel provide these items, or can I request the front desk to purchase them for me?'

However, her phone was still outside, which was extremely awkward.

As she was in distress, the bathroom door swung open. Samuel then entered, placing a stack of items and a large bag on the counter.

"Just use these for now," he said before leaving.

Evelyn approached and noticed a neat stack of fresh pajamas, complete with underwear, each item brand new.

Surprisingly, she found pads neatly arranged in the large bag!

Furthermore, there were options for day use, night use, and even sleep pants, encompassing various brands.

She estimated that they would last her for three months.

She efficiently organized everything. Upon returning to the room, her cheeks still held a blush, yet she was no longer embarrassed or uneasy.

The bed was neatly made with fresh sheets. He sat in a silk pajama set on the chair beside it, his laptop resting on his knee and a cup of steaming coffee within easy reach.

The strong aroma of coffee filled the room. She thought, 'Drinking coffee at this time, does he not plan to sleep?'

He looked up and said, "Come here."

Evelyn walked over meekly and saw him nod towards the table, saying, "Drink it and then go to sleep."

She followed his gaze and noticed a cup of hot cocoa on the table. She was pleasantly surprised by how much he had prepared in such a short time.

Puckering her lips, she obediently picked it up and took a sip, feeling a warm and comforting sensation spreading through her abdomen. She settled onto the bed and instantly felt drowsy.

He dimmed the lights a bit and looked at her, asking, "What?"

She couldn't help but yawn and asked sleepily, "Aren't you going to sleep?"

"I'll sleep later," he said. "You go ahead and sleep."

He helped her readjust the pillow, pulled up the blanket, and then sat back down. He adjusted the temperature of the air-conditioning and took a sip of coffee.

As she fought off her drowsiness, Evelyn gazed at him. The soft yellow light cast gentle shadows on his figure, accentuating the lines of his profile, drawing her in involuntarily.

She couldn’t help but think, 'He is truly handsome, both from the front and the side. How did I not notice before?'

Watching him drink coffee, still black coffee apparently, Evelyn couldn't help but say, "Drinking coffee at night will make it difficult to sleep."

He put down his cup and casually asked, "What should I drink then?"

However, he didn't get any response.

Evelyn turned to the side, still leaning on the bed, her eyes already closed, emitting a faint nasal sound.

She fell asleep really quickly!

Samuel silently chuckled and quietly watched her side profile. As for those documents and emails, he suddenly didn't want to look at them.

He set the laptop aside, adjusted the night light to its dimmest setting, then rose and walked to the other side of the bed. Lifting the covers, he slipped under and embraced her gently from behind.

Unsure if he had startled her, Evelyn murmured softly and turned over, wrapping her arms around him.

He thought, 'She's surprisingly assertive!'

Samuel raised an eyebrow, adjusted her sleeping position, and opened his arms to hold her in his embrace.

Evelyn shifted her head a bit, found a comfortable position, and then didn't move anymore.

Looking at the beautiful Evelyn in his arms, he couldn't do anything. This was their wedding night!

...

The next day, Evelyn woke up feeling great, with no discomfort from her menstrual period.

She felt that she hadn't had such a peaceful sleep in a long time. When she tried to stretch comfortably, she found that she couldn't stretch out because there was someone lying next to her.

To be precise, her head was still resting on his arm.

She quickly sat up, ran her fingers through her hair, and memories began to come back to her.

Yesterday, she got married!

"Are you awake?" A deep voice came from beside her, and she nodded. "Good morning."

"Are you hungry?" he asked again.

"I'm okay."

She was not used to being in such a situation, as she usually lived alone.

He sat up, close to her, his gaze burning. "But I'm hungry."

Evelyn was startled and thought, 'Does he want to make love to me early in the morning?!'

"So..." He almost leaned against her, almost whispering behind her ear, "Call for breakfast. It's next to the intercom in the hallway."

"Oh!" Evelyn immediately jumped out of bed and ran over.

Seeing her lively figure, Samuel smiled and moved his arm. His arm was numb!
