Chapter 125 Holding Her Bright Future

Samuel fell silent for a moment and pointed out directly. "In a sense, you are still a newcomer."

Evelyn nodded, acknowledging that fact.

Although Evelyn had been in the industry for a while, she had always worked behind the scenes. Few people even knew she was a perfumer. Liavian Perfumes had shamelessly taken over her previous works, and Vivian had snatched her former reputation and glory. Now, even though Evelyn was working with Neogenito Fragrances and had enough room to showcase her talent, she still considered herself a newcomer.

Who were the exclusive high-end products targeting? The answer was either the wealthy or the powerful!

It was not something an average person could afford; the prices were exorbitant, and naturally, only very selective individuals used them. They sought out renowned perfumers with fame and status, not just within the fragrance industry but also across other sectors.

For Evelyn to achieve that level? Not just difficult, but highly unlikely.

"I know I lack fame and honor right now, so besides aiming to win the annual competition, I need to prepare further," Evelyn shared with Samuel, outlining her rough plan and initial thoughts.

Samuel raised an eyebrow, realizing that Evelyn was not just contemplating but already had a plan in motion. "What preparations?" he inquired.

"Recently, I've been thinking about the creative direction for new products, planning to develop two in advance. Even if they are not very successful, at least I'll gain experience and lessons," Evelyn explained.

"That could work." Samuel nodded. "But it will be quite challenging."

"I'm willing to give it a try and pursue my passion!" Evelyn said sincerely. Engaging in what she loved was already gratifying.

Seeing Evelyn's radiant smile, Samuel's mood brightened as well. He reached out, embraced Evelyn, lifted her, and headed upstairs.

"Hmm?" Evelyn was puzzled about Samuel's intentions and raised an eyebrow inquiringly.

Smiling, Samuel said, "I appreciate what you said, so I think it's time to do something that I will thoroughly enjoy!"

Evelyn quickly understood, her cheeks flushing.

The night was long and worth savoring.

"You're late," Vivian whispered. Even though no one else was around at that moment, she was still nervous, afraid of being seen.

Fortunately, Vivian was familiar with the entire laboratory's layout, knowing where the surveillance cameras were and how to avoid them. To be on the safe side, she had come back in the afternoon to inspect the area again, pretending to look for issues, ensuring she was well-prepared.

However, Vivian had yet to anticipate Rosen being late again.

Rosen seemed to have no concept of time. He always insisted on punctuality from Vivian yet frequently failed to be on time himself.

Unfortunately, Vivian had no choice but to tolerate Rosen, as she needed Rosen's help!

At that moment, Vivian immediately caught a whiff of alcohol on Rosen, unable to say anything. She wrinkled her nose and asked, "Did you go drinking?"

"Is your nose that sensitive?" Rosen chuckled indifferently, moving closer to Vivian. "Why don't you take another sniff and guess what I had?"

As Rosen approached, the scent of alcohol grew stronger, making Vivian feel nauseous. She quickly stepped back, saying, "Don't do that!"

"Aren't you shy?" Rosen teased, lightly touching Vivian's cheek. "Consider it a training exercise! As a perfumer, you need a keen sense of smell."

"Enough of this nonsense!" Vivian had no interest in bantering with Rosen. "Time is running out. We need to identify the problem quickly. Do you remember what you promised me, and can you focus in your current state?"

Pressing the elevator button, Rosen gave Vivian a meaningful look. "Can I handle it? Don't you already know?"

Vivian remained silent.

Soon, they arrived at the laboratory to develop new products. The door was securely locked, and all the items inside were neatly arranged. Thanks to Vivian's prior investigation, she knew where the failed samples were stored. She cautiously turned on the lights, feeling a bit nervous.

Apart from the security guard on duty, there was no one else in the laboratory. Vivian had informed the guard that she would be working late and not to disturb her. She then went down to the underground garage to wait for Rosen's arrival.

This way, Vivian and Rosen could work undisturbed, focusing on identifying the issues with the formula.

"Take a look at this!" Vivian turned to the workstation, displaying a few small bottles to Rosen. "These are the recent failed samples, precisely crafted according to the formula you provided. The measurements were accurate, but something isn't right; the scents are impure."

Given that this matter concerned Vivian's future, she took it quite seriously.

"I suspect there might be an issue with one of the ingredients, perhaps the lavender? I think it might be conflicting with your other components. What do you think?" After receiving no response for a while, Vivian turned around to see Rosen leaning back on a table, almost as if he had fallen asleep.

Vivian was furious at that moment!

"Rosen!" she called out in a low, angry tone. "You promised me! We are here to deal with serious matters. How can you act like this?"

"I'm a bit tired and need a short rest. Don't blow this minor issue out of proportion!" Stretching lazily, Rosen replied, "A slight difference in scent isn't a big deal."

"Environmental factors like humidity and temperature can have an impact. This is a basic understanding of perfumery?" Rosen walked over casually, brushed past Vivian, and directly took the small bottles, sniffing them briefly before tossing them into the nearby trash can. "Trash!"

Vivian was taken aback by how quickly Rosen acted; she couldn't even stop him. "What if they are found tomorrow?" she worried.

Mockingly, Rosen chuckled. "With your successful creations by then, why keep these failures!"

Hearing Rosen's words, Vivian's anger subsided a bit, replaced by excitement. "Are you serious?" she asked eagerly.

"You are so impulsive!" Rosen shook his head, already starting to gather materials and tools in the lab. "You need to be calm and patient, just like making love to me. Endurance and persistence are key to enjoying the process to the fullest!"

While Vivian maintained a certain level of openness, the words uttered by Rosen had left her visibly flushed. Unable to suppress the anticipation burgeoning within her bosom, she watched Rosen's every move as if he held the key to her bright future!
