Chapter 120 Sebastian at Her House?
"What kind of medicine?"
"The kind that gets a guy aroused."
There was a two-second pause on the other end, then a sudden snicker. "You've sunk so low you need to drug a guy to get him aroused?"
Amara, feeling both embarrassed and angry, snapped back, "Just tell me if you can get it or not. The rest is none of your business!"
"Just wait."
The other side gave a quick reply and hung up.
Amara lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Even the ceilings in rich people's homes were decorated so beautifully.
After experiencing this kind of life, she never wanted to go back to the way things were.
So, she had to win Leopold's heart.
In the morning, Camilla did some cleaning, prepped lunch, and then headed to the lab.
After a busy morning, she finished two sets of data and felt pretty good about the progress.
She entered the data, saved it, and then grabbed a lunchbox from the fridge to heat up.
Betty could smell the aroma from a distance.
"Camilla, what are you eating? It smells amazing. Which takeout is it from?"
Lemon chicken wings, with a crispy golden skin, the aroma was irresistible.
Garlic broccoli, green and fresh, giving off a garlic fragrance.
A balanced meal, visually appealing, and super appetizing.
Camilla said, "It's not takeout. I brought it from home. I haven't touched these chicken wings yet. Want to try some?"
Normally, Betty might have politely declined, but looking at the golden chicken wings, she couldn't help but swallow.
"Thank you!"
She said, grabbing one right away.
The chicken wing was crispy and tender, perfectly cooked. "Delicious! Did you make this yourself?"
"Yep."
Betty wasn't exaggerating. Her own cooking skills were average, and her family wasn't much better. Occasionally, she had good food outside, but often the ingredients weren't fresh, and the seasoning was too much.
Camilla's cooking was something else. The ingredients were fresh, and the seasoning, crispiness, and tenderness were just right.
The feeling of the food dancing on her taste buds was amazing.
Camilla laughed, "You're exaggerating. It's just home-cooked food."
Betty shook her head seriously. "It's not an exaggeration. If you can make home-cooked food this good, imagine what you could do if you really tried. It'd make everyone drool like a dog at dinner time."
"What would make everyone drool?" Darren's ears perked up at the mention of food, like a radar detector.
"We're talking about Camilla's cooking. It's amazing! I just found out we have a chef hidden in our lab!"
Camilla laughed. "Don't listen to Betty. It's just average."
Darren glanced at the plate of lemon chicken wings, which looked delicious.
"I just finished lunch and I'm quite full, otherwise I'd have one! By the way, Camilla, are you cooking again tomorrow?"
He was already full, and it wasn't appropriate for a guy to take food from a girl's plate, but Betty's description made him curious.
"I'll probably make something different tomorrow."
"Oh." Darren looked disappointed.
Betty didn't say anything, but her eyes were filled with disappointment.
Camilla laughed. "Speaking of which, I've been in the lab for a while now, and I haven't formally invited everyone to a meal. Since it's Friday and we have a day off tomorrow, how about we go out or come to my place for dinner after work?"
"Your place! Your place!" Betty was quick to jump in, afraid Camilla might change her mind. "It's settled then. We'll head over at six."
"Okay." Camilla nodded. "I'll send the address to the group. I'll go buy groceries first, and you can come over when you're done."
"Sounds good!"
Hector chimed in, "Should we let Sebastian know?"
Betty replied, "You handle that."
"Alright." Hector pulled out his phone. "I'll check if he's done with class."
At 2 PM, Camilla shut down her computer, tidied up her lab bench, and quietly left.
She ran into Sebastian just outside.
"Going grocery shopping?" Sebastian asked.
Camilla was surprised. "You know?"
"Yeah, Hector sent a message. Let's go."
Camilla was puzzled.
Sebastian said, "Aren't you going to the supermarket? I'll drive you."
"Not busy today?"
Sebastian shrugged, "Not really."
He could always make time for Camilla.
"Alright, thanks."
She was thinking about calling a cab, but Sebastian showing up saved her the money.
As it turned out, He not only saved her the money but also the effort.
Sebastian carried all the bags, big and small, the entire time.
Camilla thought it was too much and wanted to take some.
Sebastian dodged her hand. "No need, I've got it."
Back home, Camilla put on an apron and started working efficiently.
"By the way, do they have any dietary restrictions?" Camilla remembered to ask.
Sebastian said, "Except for Hector, who doesn't eat shrimp, everyone else is fine."
With that, Sebastian rolled up his sleeves and headed to the kitchen. "I'll help."
At 6 PM, Hector, Betty, Darren, and Doris left the lab and headed to Camilla's place.
"Hector, did you inform Sebastian?" Doris suddenly asked.
She hadn't planned on coming, but when Hector said Sebastian would be there, she decided to join.
Darren thought his persuasion had finally worked, getting Doris to come along.
Hector said, "I did. He should have been done with class by now, but he didn't come back to the lab."
"But Sebastian said he'd come, so he will, just not with us."
Betty said, "Really? He's coming?"
Hector laughed. "Why? You don't want him to come?"
Betty clicked her tongue. "It's just that with him around, everyone feels pressured and can't relax."
"How relaxed do you want to be?" Hector teased, "If you get too wild, you might lose your bearings. Sebastian being there will keep you in check."
"You're the wild one!"
Passing by a flower shop, Betty saw the jasmine in full bloom and bought a bouquet as a gift.
Of course, Hector and Darren didn't come empty-handed either. Each brought a basket of fruit, beautifully packaged and not cheap.
To Camilla's surprise, Doris also brought a small gift.
"Homemade perfume, with a light orange scent. You should like it."
"Thank you." Camilla was a bit surprised but accepted it with a smile.
Betty noticed Sebastian wasn't there. "Can someone call Sebastian? Why isn't he here yet?"
Mainly because he being late would delay dinner.
The aroma had already captivated her soul, and waiting another minute was torture.
Hector took out his phone, ready to call, but then saw Sebastian come out of the kitchen wearing an apron, carrying a pot of soup to the table.
His skillful movements showed it wasn't his first time.
Hector was puzzled.
Everyone was shocked.
