Chapter 212 I Just Pity Her
Camilla felt helpless. "Habits can be changed."
Marcus replied, "For others, maybe. But for you, I don't want to change."
After leaving the restaurant, Camilla and the other two headed in the same direction.
Hestia took out her phone to call a car.
At that moment, a Mercedes-Benz van pulled up in front of them.
The window rolled down, and Marcus said, "Get in, I'll take you home."
Hestia looked at Camilla for confirmation.
Marcus smiled, "It's hard to get a cab here. If I don't take you, it might take two more hours to get home."
Royce said nothing, clearly aware of the situation.
Hestia glanced at her phone, which showed 216 people ahead in the ride-hailing app queue.
Two hours was a conservative estimate.
Camilla said, "Let's get in. Sorry for the trouble, Mr. Davis."
Marcus smirked, "No trouble at all, Camilla."
According to the GPS, Camilla should have been dropped off first, followed by Hestia, and then Royce.
However, at an intersection where they should have turned right, Marcus ended up in the wrong lane and had to go straight.
The GPS recalculated, making Hestia the first to be dropped off, then Royce, and finally Camilla.
The car stopped at the alley entrance.
Marcus got out, walked around, and personally opened the door for her. "Watch your head."
Camilla got out and stood still, looking up at him. "Thank you."
"For opening the door or buying the equipment?"
"Both."
"So, aren't you going to invite me up for a glass of water?"
Camilla was silent.
"Just kidding, don't take me for a creep."
Camilla looked at him seriously, "Are you?"
Marcus smirked, "I'm not, but I want to be, but I'm afraid to be."
"I don't understand."
"Then don't. Some things don't need to be understood."
Because there was no reason and he couldn't explain.
Just like he didn't understand why he couldn't forget about Camilla.
Back then in Harmony College, it wasn't just Leopold who fell for Camilla at first sight.
There were he and Declan too.
Leopold acted the fastest, with Declan close behind.
Only he, unsure of his feelings and considering his friendship with Leopold, chose to wait.
By the time he heard about her again, Leopold had already announced their relationship.
He didn't expect Leopold to be serious.
Nor did he expect Leopold to succeed.
At that moment, Marcus realized that sometimes there was no second chance.
But after calming down, Marcus firmly believed he would have a second chance.
Because he knew Leopold too well, knew his inherent flaws.
All that was left was to wait.
Wait for their relationship to crumble, wait for Camilla to be completely disillusioned.
Fortunately, he waited it out.
"If I can't come up for water, can you at least say goodnight?"
Camilla said, "Goodnight, Mr. Davis."
"Drop the formalities."
"Goodnight."
"Good girl."
Before Camilla could react, he quickly reached out and patted her head.
By the time she stepped back, Marcus had already turned away smoothly.
Camilla gritted her teeth at Marcus's retreating figure.
Marcus didn't look back, seemingly knowing she was watching, and waved.
And this scene was witnessed by Leopold, who had been waiting in the corner for an hour.
The vibrant red roses fell from his arms to the ground.
The next second, his eyes turned cold, and he chased after Marcus.
"Marcus!"
Marcus paused as he was opening the car door and instinctively turned around.
A fist came straight at him.
Although Marcus quickly dodged, he couldn't completely avoid it.
Leopold's fist grazed his cheekbone with a dull thud.
As Leopold raised his fist for a second punch, Marcus grabbed his collar and yanked hard, nearly knocking Leopold down.
Marcus took the opportunity to step back, creating distance.
He touched his cheekbone, which throbbed with pain. "Leopold, what the hell is wrong with you?"
"I'm hitting you, that's what!"
Marcus sneered, seeing Leopold's furious expression and the direction he had come from, instantly understanding the reason.
Marcus's smile grew more provocative, "You saw everything?"
Leopold raised his fist again, his eyes bloodshot.
"What? Can't handle it? There will be countless more scenes like this in the future, we might be even more close. What are you going to do? Hit me every time you see me? But it won't help. Hitting me won't stop anything from happening."
Leopold's chest heaved, and if looks could kill, Marcus would have died.
Suddenly, Leopold calmed down, "Did Camilla agree to be with you?"
Marcus's smile froze.
Now it was Leopold's turn to smile, "Looks like she hasn't. You couldn't get her back then, so what makes you think you can win now?"
He continued, "At least I had her. What about you? You have to be cautious just to touch her. Marcus, what the hell are you so proud of? A woman I had been with suits you so well? Can't find another woman, or do you only take leftovers?"
Marcus's smile vanished, and he lunged forward, grabbing Leopold's collar, "Say that again if you dare!"
"Isn't it the truth?"
Marcus was furious, "Say whatever you want about me, I can take it. But you can't insult Camilla, a woman who gave you six years of her youth, all her love and care!"
Leopold let him hold his collar, a cold smile on his lips. "Admit it, you're just jealous. Jealous that I had Camilla for six whole years."
"Jealous? Why would I be jealous of someone who couldn't keep her after six years?"
Marcus looked at him, enunciating each word, "I just pity her for loving a piece of trash like you!"
With that, he raised his fist, then it landed on Leopold's nose with a dull thud. "This punch is for Camilla."
Another punch landed on Leopold's cheekbone! "This punch is for me."
"Marcus, you're asking for it!"
Leopold retaliated immediately.
Under the dim streetlight, at the deserted alley entrance, two well-dressed men were throwing punches and kicks at each other.
Their foreheads, mouths, and cheeks were all bruised to varying degrees.
Until Oliver and Simon arrived.
Oliver said, "Damn! I knew it!"
Simon swallowed hard, "Are they trying to kill each other?"
They rushed forward, each grabbing one of them, forcibly separating them.
Oliver said, "Leopold, Marcus, calm down! Violence won't solve anything!"
Leopold couldn't calm down. "I'm going to kill him today!"
Marcus said angrily, "No need to solve anything, just need to get rid of this trash!"
"No! You're the trash, coveting your friend's girlfriend!"
"She's not your girlfriend anymore!"
"That's not for you to decide!"
Seeing them about to fight again, Simon suddenly spoke up, "Camilla, you're just in time."
Leopold and Marcus both froze, their bodies stiffening.
