Chapter 284 In His Eyes, Only Her

The dishes were washed together, and the kitchen was tidied up together as well.

Finally, they went out together to take out the trash.

Camilla put on her down jacket, grabbed the trash, and went out.

Sebastian also came out with two large bags of trash.

"Mr. Russell, how long has it been since you last took out the trash?"

Sebastian thought for a moment. "Half a month?"

Fortunately, it was just packaging boxes and plastic bags, nothing that would rot like leftovers or fruit peels.

Camilla was a bit speechless and then said, "Let's go."

As they went downstairs, they ran into Anna and Andrew from the same building who had already taken out their trash and were holding hands, ready to go home.

They bumped into each other.

"You taking out the trash too?" Anna asked.

"Yeah." Sebastian nodded.

Anna looked at Camilla with a smile. "Camilla, what delicious food did you make today? We could smell it downstairs!"

Camilla replied, "A mushroom feast."

"Is it from the box of mushrooms Sebastian received yesterday?"

Yesterday, when Sebastian was picking up a package, he happened to run into Anna coming back from grocery shopping and casually asked her how to store the mushrooms.

Camilla nodded.

Anna's smile grew even brighter. "One of you brings the ingredients, and the other cooks. You two are meant to be neighbors, destined to be together! You're so familiar with each other, why not just get together already!"

The older generation spoke straightforwardly and boldly.

Camilla didn't react at first, until she heard Sebastian cough, and then she quickly waved her hands. "You misunderstood."

Anna immediately raised her hand to interrupt her, "No need to explain, as long as you're happy! Andrew, let's go home!"

Andrew responded with a smile, "You always like to talk nonsense, making Camilla and Sebastian blush."

"How am I talking nonsense? Back in the day, didn't we meet because we lived upstairs and downstairs from each other? Back then, society was pretty conservative, and it took us two years to finally get together. Now, things are much more open. We should create more opportunities for young people..."

Their voices gradually faded away.

Camilla blushed, and Sebastian looked equally awkward.

They silently went down the stairs and silently threw away the trash.

"I..."

"You..."

They both spoke at the same time.

They looked at each other, both stunned for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.

Camilla spoke up, "They're truly loving, a perfect example of growing old together, right?"

"They are retired professors from the Astrophysics Department at Cascade College, no children, they've spent their lives supporting each other."

"Really?" Camilla was surprised. Although Andrew and Anna looked like cultured people, she didn't expect them to be professors at Cascade College, and in astrophysics, no less.

"Why didn't they have children?"

Sebastian took off the scarf around his neck and wrapped it around Camilla, then nodded forward. "Shall we take a walk? To digest?"

His actions were so natural, as if he had done it a thousand times, giving Camilla no chance to refuse.

The light brown scarf wasn't long and was quite thin, but as soon as it touched her skin, it warmed up, soft and gentle.

Camilla touched it and knew it was alpaca wool.

This material was known as the "queen of fibers," as soft as cashmere and as glossy as fur, making it a very precious and expensive fabric.

The scarf, freshly taken from Sebastian's neck, was still warm and carried his distinctive woody scent.

Camilla had always been curious whether Sebastian wore cologne.

But this question was hard to ask, so she kept it to herself for now.

Camilla smiled awkwardly. "Thanks, I forgot to bring a scarf when I went out."

Actually, she didn't forget.

She was just being lazy.

Thinking she would just go back after taking out the trash, she thought it didn't matter whether she brought a scarf or not.

Sebastian knew her well, but he just didn't expose her, silently giving her his scarf.

"You asked earlier why Andrew and Anna didn't have children. It's not that they didn't want to, but Anna's health wasn't good, so she couldn't," Sebastian said.

Andrew's family couldn't accept it and forced them to divorce.

Anna, feeling guilty, didn't want to drag it out, so she took the initiative to be the bad guy.

But Andrew refused to agree.

"I heard that Andrew, to win Anna back, publicly announced in the newspaper that he was cutting ties with his family. They didn't have contact for twenty years. Later, his family slowly accepted the reality, and they reconnected. But the relationship wasn't very close," he added.

Anna had always been an orphan, and Andrew had cut ties with his family because of her. From that point on, they only had each other.

Camilla listened, her eyes dazed. "That era was really good. In a time when transportation and communication were inconvenient, a lifetime was only enough to love one person."

She looked ahead, while Sebastian gazed at her. In that moment, she was the only thing he could see.

Camilla exhaled, the breath turning into white mist, like condensed frost.

She murmured, "I wonder if it will snow this year?"

Last year didn't count, as it only flurried a bit, melting as soon as it hit the ground, not accumulating at all.

The year before, it did snow, but she was sulking with Leopold and had no interest in watching the snow.

Looking back now, it was really foolish.

She missed out on so much good time and beautiful scenery.

They walked for over twenty minutes, and the walk was quite effective for digestion.

Sebastian saw her starting to blow on her hands. "Let's go back."

"Okay!"

Under the moonlight, in the cold wind, they walked back side by side.

The next morning, before Camilla woke up, she heard a knock on the door. "Camilla!"

Sebastian?

She opened her eyes suddenly, thinking something serious had happened, and immediately got out of bed and ran to open the door!

"What happened?" she asked anxiously.

For a moment, she even thought there was an earthquake and they needed to escape.

Sebastian was stunned. "Put on your clothes first; it's snowing outside!"

Camilla then realized she was only wearing pajamas.

Although they were long-sleeved and long-pants, not revealing anything, it was still a bit embarrassing.

Then she immediately asked excitedly, "It's snowing? Really?"

"Look out the window."

Camilla immediately pulled open the curtains and opened the balcony door. The biting cold wind hit her face and body, making her nose uncomfortable.

However, the scene she saw next made her feel it was worth it.

The ground was covered in white snow, everything wrapped in silver.

Snow piled on the eaves and tree branches, forming fluffy white clusters.

Snowflakes were drifting down from the sky, like feathers, spinning as they fell.

Camilla's face lit up. "It's really snowing! So beautiful!"

At this moment, Sebastian, standing at the door, also smiled. "Wash up first, I'll wait for you downstairs."

"Okay!"
