Chapter 222 You Deserve This
"What?" Amara's eyes moved stiffly. "Hasn't it always been deducted from the account?"
"Sorry, the account has been frozen."
"Frozen? Why?!"
"The account holder requested it."
'Requested it.' Amara thought. "Hahaha, Leopold, you're really ruthless!"
After spending more than a month in the hospital, Amara was finally discharged that day.
She looked at the bright sky and the white clouds, feeling as if she were in another world.
Leopold left work early today.
Getting in the car, he instructed the driver, "Back to the villa."
"Yes, Mr. Wipere."
He closed his eyes to rest during the ride, only opening them when he heard the wind rushing past the window.
The sky had already darkened, heavy and oppressive, with a sense of an impending storm.
He recalled the humid and muggy feeling of the rainy season each year and frowned in disgust.
The car smoothly entered the villa area.
Suddenly, the driver braked sharply.
Leopold's body lurched forward due to inertia; if not for the seatbelt, he would have hit the front seat.
"What happened?" His tone was unpleasant, and his face turned cold.
"Sorry, Mr. Wipere," the driver quickly apologized. "A woman suddenly ran out, and I had to brake!"
Leopold looked up.
It had started to drizzle outside. Amara stood in front of the car, already soaked, her hair sticking to her neck, her face pale as a ghost.
Amara was wearing a white long dress, with no makeup. At this moment, the rain-soaked fabric clung to her body.
It outlined her graceful curves.
She looked like a flower in a storm, pitifully swaying on the branch, about to fall.
Even the driver couldn't help but be moved.
Leopold, however, coldly withdrew his gaze, his eyes devoid of any emotion. "When did the security in this neighborhood get so bad? Anyone can get in. Notify security to take her away."
The driver snapped back to reality and immediately took out his phone.
After leaving the hospital, Amara realized she had nowhere to go.
Clio and Travis had abandoned her, she couldn't return to the school dormitory, and the only place she could think of was Leopold's villa.
But through the front windshield, she looked desperately at the back seat, where only Leopold's indifferent profile was visible.
Leopold didn't even want to look at her directly.
Amara walked to the back seat and desperately pounded on the window. "Leopold, it's me, I'm back. Please don't ignore me, okay? I've lost everything, and you're all I have left. I know I was wrong. I swear from now on, I'll do whatever you say, no more arguments, I'll behave."
However, no matter how much she pounded and pleaded, the window never rolled down.
Soon, the property manager arrived with a team of security guards.
"Who let you in? Don't you know this is a private villa area? Leave now!"
Amara tried to explain, "I'm a resident! I used to live here! You must have seen me!"
A security guard said, "Sorry, we don't remember."
"How is that possible? I'm Leopold's girlfriend. He's in the car right now. Let him explain to you!" Amara anxiously knocked on the car window. "Leopold, please, don't make me leave. I really have nowhere else to go!"
Then two security guards received instructions and forcibly lifted her arms to drag her away.
Leopold sat in the car, watching expressionlessly. "Now go."
The driver snapped back to reality, sweating profusely. "Yes, Mr. Wipere."
Amara was thrown out.
"I told you to leave on your own, but you didn't listen. You asked for this. Now get lost!"
In the heavy rain, they didn't want to get wet either, all because of this crazy woman.
The rain stopped, and Amara walked aimlessly down the street, lost and dejected.
At some point, she arrived at the gate of her university.
Watching the students coming and going, laughing and full of energy, she remembered she used to be one of them.
Suddenly, Amara saw a familiar face in the crowd!
"Lily!" She rushed over and grabbed her, as if holding onto the only lifeline.
Lily was startled.
The two girls with her gave a curious glance but politely didn't ask questions. "Lily, we'll wait for you at the store."
"Okay." Lily smiled and nodded.
Then she looked at Amara, her eyes becoming very complicated. "What happened to you?"
A month ago, when she visited Amara in the hospital, although Amara looked a bit pale, she had the best food and accommodation.
But now, Amara's dress was wet, her hair disheveled, looking like a ghost.
"Lily!" As soon as Amara spoke, tears fell. "The baby is gone, and he doesn't want me anymore."
Lily's face showed little surprise, as if she had expected this outcome.
She just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
Amara tightly held her hand. "I have nowhere to go. Can I go back to the dorm?"
Lily was surprised. "You've already applied for withdrawal. According to the rules, it's not allowed. And even if I want to help, I can't. Your bed is now occupied by another student."
Amara's lips trembled, her eyes pleading. "Lily, please help me. I really have nowhere to go."
Lily looked troubled.
"How about lending me some money? I'll pay you back as soon as I have it!"
Lily hesitated for a moment but then took out her phone from her bag. "Okay. I have six hundred dollars in my account right now. I'll transfer it all to you."
"Six hundred dollars?" Amara was stunned.
"Yes, it's enough for food and lodging. That's all I can..."
"What can six hundred dollars do? A piece of clothing costs more than six hundred dollars. Don't you have more? You can ask your parents for some!"
Lily's actions paused, and her eyes suddenly turned cold.
The sympathy and pity disappeared. "Amara, you still haven't woken up. Sorry, I won't even give you six hundred dollars because you deserve this."
Step by step, she had driven herself to a dead end.
Even now, she didn't see reality.
Lily said coldly, "I have things to do. I'm leaving."
"Lily! How can you do this?! Give me the money! You're just jealous of me! You're happy to see me down, aren't you!"
As night fell, Amara wandered the streets, exhausted and hungry.
She passed by a nightclub, its main entrance glittering with gold. A small door at the corner of the street was open, with people constantly coming and going.
The men were pot-bellied and obese, the women scantily clad and flirtatious.
But on closer inspection, all these women carried designer bags.
Their clothes were also branded, ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars.
Amara's eyes reddened with envy. She used to be luxurious and noble.
"Hey, we're hiring. You've been staring for a while. Interested in applying?"
