Chapter 228 Be Cold, He'd Love You

This summer seemed particularly hot.

From Monday to Friday, the classrooms, labs, and library all had air conditioning.

In a well-cooled room, eating watermelon while reading papers, one could say that life was so peaceful.

Juniper asked, "It's Saturday today, no classes. Are you sure you don't want to go out?"

Camilla had a long face and said, "Juniper, give me a break. It's too hot to go out."

"Don't you want to go shopping and buy some nice clothes for yourself?"

"I can shop online."

"What about skincare products? You need to try them at the counter to know if they're good!"

"No need to try. I always use the same brand."

"Don't you want to get some good food and drinks, and maybe go to the supermarket to buy some fresh vegetables and fruits?!" Juniper's tone was getting increasingly agitated.

Camilla whispered, "Actually, home delivery is pretty good."

Juniper fell silent.

Camilla asked, "Are you bored because work hasn't been busy lately?"

Juniper sighed deeply. Indeed, Camilla knew her best!

Camilla frowned. That shouldn't be the case.

"Where are those guys in your contacts, like Kevin and David?"

In the past, no matter how free Juniper was, she wouldn't be so bored as to ask her to go shopping in the scorching summer.

Because Juniper was even more afraid of the heat than she was.

So when Juniper suggested it today, Camilla felt something was off.

"Don't even mention it." Juniper was despondent.

Just thinking about it made her heart ache.

After Simon got her lock screen password, he used her phone to browse adult websites!

As a result, her phone got a virus, and the entire system crashed.

He swore he could fix it.

Juniper believed him and went for another skin care.

But when she came out, it was even worse!

Simon, that idiot, not only failed to restore the system but also damaged her SIM card.

Now, not only were all her chat records gone, but all the contacts stored on the SIM card were also wiped out.

Even if she got a replacement card, she couldn't retrieve them!

"I'm sorry, I really can fix it! But this virus was too strong, it even stumped me. Can I buy you a new phone?"

Juniper thought, 'Can you? Hell no!'

Juniper really wanted to slap him and then smash her broken phone in his face.

But she was in the Miller family's old mansion.

Simon's mom had just given her a precious bracelet and treated her to a spa and anti-aging treatment.

Juniper could only grit her teeth and endure it.

Simon kept apologizing in her ear. "I'm sorry, Juniper. I really didn't know it would get worse. If I had known, I would have taken it to a professional repair shop."

Juniper gritted her teeth, "Forget it, stop talking."

The more he talked, the more she wanted to punch him.

"Juniper, it's all my fault. I promise I won't do it again. I'll buy you a new phone tomorrow."

"I said stop talking."

"No, I have to express my apology. Even though I know ten new phones can't replace this one, with all those chat records and contacts..."

Juniper's fists were already clenched.

Simon continued, "What to do? You can't contact those young handsome guys anymore, can you? What a pity."

"No worries," Juniper forced a smile, "I can get a new phone and SIM card, and the number hasn't changed, so I can still be contacted."

Most of the time, they contacted her. Juniper rarely called them first.

After all, if she wanted, she could always find new men, so she wouldn't think of the old ones.

Juniper snatched her broken phone. "If you dare touch my stuff again, I'll break your hand, believe it or not!"

With that, she strode out of the living room.

She had already arranged for her car to be brought over, so she didn't need anyone to drive her.

Leaving Simon stomping his feet. "You ungrateful woman!"

Too bad, no matter how loud he shouted, Juniper couldn't hear him.

Even if she did, she would only turn a deaf ear.

Upstairs, Natalia and the maid stood on the balcony, smiling as they watched downstairs.

Lila hesitated before saying, "Juniper doesn't seem to care much about Simon."

"That's good," Natalia crossed her arms, her skin glowing and her complexion excellent after the spa, exuding a lazy elegance, "These men, the easier they get something, the less they care. They always think women will throw themselves at them. But if you ignore them, be cold, they'd love you."

Natalia turned and asked, "Lila, do you know what this is called?"

"What's it called?"

"Pathetic."

Lila coughed and almost choked! "Madam, how can you say that about your son?"

"I'm just stating the facts. Not just my son, but his father too. I think Juniper is doing great." Just like she did back in the day!

Juniper ranted and complained, calling Simon an idiot at least ten times.

Camilla spoke softly, "Did he do it on purpose?"

"On purpose?" Juniper paused, stunned for a moment, "You mean he broke my phone on purpose?"

"Yes."

"Why? What good does it do him to break my phone?"

"You don't get it?"

Juniper was puzzled. "Get what?"

"Never mind. I don't really get it either."

She didn't understand how a seasoned player like Juniper could suddenly become so dull.

Juniper confirmed again. "Are you really not going out today?"

Camilla blinked, "Sorry."

"Alright, if you won't come with me, I'll just post on social media and see if I can find someone."

"Hey, remember to block Simon! Hello? Juniper?"

Juniper had already hung up.

No one knew if she heard that last part.
