Chapter 283 You Stole My Job

Azalea knew very well that once she agreed, their relationship would become purely transactional.

It was far from what she wanted.

But if she refused, she had no doubt that Leopold would get up and leave without looking back.

And this might be her only chance to get close to Leopold!

"Alright, I agree." She forced a lighthearted smile, "After all, it's fake, right? In a way, I'm still gaining something."

It was fake now, but who could say for sure about the future?

Leopold lowered his eyes, his face expressionless. "Alright, I'll have my assistant draft a contract later. You just need to sign it."

Putting everything in black and white would prevent any disputes; it was a lesson he had learned from Amara.

Azalea nodded with a smile. "Sure."

But her heart sank suddenly.

It seemed Leopold really didn't want to get involved with her and was very wary of women clinging to him.

"Now, can we exchange contact information? It'll be convenient to stay in touch." Azalea took out her phone confidently.

They exchanged contact information and added each other on Facebook.

"By the way, I don't know your name yet. I've sent you mine." Azalea hit send.

Leopold had already put away his phone and said succinctly, "Leopold Wipere."

Azalea opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but he had already stood up, ready to leave.

After taking two steps, Leopold suddenly remembered something and turned back. "For the stability of our partnership, I need to remind you of something."

"What?" Azalea looked up at him.

Leopold's face was expressionless. "During the contract period, we are just partners, with no personal feelings involved. So it's best not to fall for me, because it won't end well. Besides Camilla, I will never love any other woman in my life."

His voice was calm and cool, like a winter rain. Not heavy, but it chilled her to the bone.

Today was Sunday. After Camilla received the informed consent form personally signed by Leopold, she couldn't go directly to the relevant department to complete the procedures and had to go home for now.

Just as she reached the alleyway, she ran into Sebastian. "Mr. Russell,  running again?"

Sebastian had also been running last night.

When Leopold brought her back, they had just entered the alley and saw him in his workout clothes, sweating profusely.

Sebastian spoke up, "Are you okay?"

Camilla was taken aback. "Why do you ask?"

Was there something wrong with her?

Sebastian just smiled, looked her up and down, and didn't answer. "Want to run a couple of laps together?"

Camilla pointed upstairs. "Let me go change first, see you in a bit."

"Okay."

She didn't expect that after running last night, he was running again this morning.

"Are you preparing for a race or something?"

"No," Sebastian shook his head.

"Aren't you running a bit too much? People might think you're training for a marathon."

Sebastian smiled.

If one looked closely, there was a hint of guilt in that smile.

Camilla asked again, "Isn't the lab busy lately?"

"I've handed some work over to Hector. Have you had breakfast?"

"Yes, have you?"

"I have too. Do you have any other plans for today?"

Camilla thought for a moment. "Not really, just some papers to read."

"Yesterday, a friend of mine sent me a box of wild mushrooms. You should take them."

Wild mushrooms?

That was a real treat.

"Why give them to me? Don't you want them?"

Sebastian chuckled. "I don't usually cook at home. Mushrooms spoil easily, so it's best if you take them."

"Alright, I won't be polite then!"

They went upstairs together.

Camilla went to Sebastian's place and saw a large foam box behind the door.

Opening it, she found various mushrooms inside, like chanterelles, truffles, and so on.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say it contained all the edible mushrooms of the season.

Each type of mushroom was packed in a vacuum-sealed bag.

So after long-distance transport and sitting for a day, they still looked very fresh.

Camilla was overjoyed. "These are hard to find in the market. Are you sure you don't want them?"

Sebastian shook his head, pushing them towards her. "Yes."

"Alright then. Come over for dinner tonight!" she said, carrying the box back to her place, not giving Sebastian any chance to refuse.

At 5 PM, Sebastian came over to help, right on time.

Entering the kitchen, he saw that Camilla had already washed and dried all the mushrooms, setting them aside.

Sebastian asked, "Why didn't you wait for me to wash them?"

Camilla replied, "I had some free time this afternoon, so I took care of it."

"You took my job," Sebastian said with mock resentment.

Camilla couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Russell, you don't get paid for working here, why are you so eager?"

"I can't eat comfortably if I don't help out."

"These mushrooms were brought from your place."

"So?"

"That makes us even."

Soon, the mushroom feast was ready.

All dishes were made with mushrooms, and they looked delicious!

The two of them finished all the dishes, not wasting a bit.

Sebastian said, "I'm a bit stuffed."

Camilla secretly burped and said, "Me too."
