Chapter 225 Really Annoying

Sebastian coughed, "Well, Hector said you should visit the lab more often when you have time. Everyone misses you."

Camilla blinked. "When did Hector say that?"

"A week ago." He didn't think much of it and told the truth.

"Oh!" Camilla elongated her tone, "So, Hector asked you to pass the message a week ago, and you only delivered it today?"

She thought, 'And you say you haven't been avoiding me?'

Sebastian fled in embarrassment.

Camilla watched his retreating figure and couldn't help but laugh out loud.

The afternoon sun was bright and warm, the sky was a clear blue, and the white clouds drifted leisurely.

Everything was beautiful.

With no classes in the afternoon, Camilla decided not to spend time in the library. Her schedule had been too packed lately, and her home hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

Taking advantage of the good weather today, she planned to wash the clothes and do some cleaning.

Then she would cook herself a nice meal, just thinking about it made her smile.

However, when she reached the school gate and saw the person holding flowers, her smile instantly disappeared.

Leopold, dressed in a suit, already stood out, and the flowers in his hand made him even more conspicuous.

Passersby couldn't help but cast curious glances at him.

"Is it that guy again?"

"This time it's blue roses, such a big bouquet, it must be expensive, right?"

"I'm really envious of the girl he's pursuing. Handsome and romantic, if it were me, I wouldn't last a second."

"But he has to like you first! Hahaha!"

Camilla was really annoyed.

She thought she had made things clear that day.

Since then, Leopold hadn't shown up, and she thought he had understood, but here he was again!

Really annoying!

Camilla, who had already stepped out of the school gate, turned back and headed to the library.

Cleaning didn't have to be done today; it could be postponed until tomorrow.

Washing and drying clothes could wait too; the weather had been good for half a month, and there were plenty of sunny days ahead.

Leopold waited for an hour without seeing Camilla and realized that waiting any longer would be futile.

He let out a bitter laugh.

The beautiful blue roses in his hand seemed to mock his wishful thinking.

He walked to a trash can, ready to throw the flowers away.

"Isn't it a pity to throw away such beautiful flowers?"

Leopold looked up, and Azalea smiled at him.

"What's it to you?" He bought the flowers, and if he wanted to throw them away, it was none of anyone else's business.

Azalea's smile froze.

She hadn't expected Leopold to respond like that.

Azalea was wearing a dress today, her long hair down, with simple makeup and a perfectly timed smile, looking very gentle and elegant.

But Leopold glanced at her and then looked away, as if he couldn't see her beauty.

Azalea was a bit surprised, with a hint of interest flashing in her eyes.

This man was clearly different from the male classmates she usually interacted with.

Aside from his outstanding appearance and mature demeanor, he had an air of unapproachable arrogance.

Like a fruit high on a branch, the harder it was to reach, the more attractive it became.

Azalea smiled slightly, "Indeed, it's none of my business, but I think it's a pity, and that has nothing to do with you."

Leopold looked up.

The girl stood confidently, letting him scrutinize her.

Suddenly, Leopold sneered.

Right in front of Azalea, he stuffed the flowers into the trash can, "If you like them, you can pick them up."

With that, he turned and left, his back exuding defiance.

Azalea looked at the discarded flowers, then at the departing Leopold, and stood there in a daze.

At the end of each month, the academy held a summary meeting.

All 26 research groups would send representatives to present their academic reports.

This was also known as the monthly meeting.

During the meeting, representatives from each group would stand up in turn.

As usual, mentors would also attend and sit beside them.

However, Aurora was abroad attending an academic conference and hadn't returned, so Camilla's group had no mentor present.

And their reporting order happened to be right after Calliope's group.

Ignatius stood up and detailed the academic progress made that month, including a particularly notable achievement: Bronte had published an SCI paper as the first author.

Ignatius paused at this point.

Everyone was a bit puzzled but quickly realized it was a cue to applaud.

Soon, thunderous applause filled the room.

Ignatius remained silent.

The school and academy leaders on stage were all smiles.

Especially Otis, whose face was creased with joy.

Calliope instinctively sat up straight, a smile playing on her lips.

Bronte stood up amidst the applause, "Thank you, everyone. But the person I should thank the most for this achievement is my mentor, Professor Ross! Thank you for your professional guidance and patient teaching."

Applause erupted again.

Calliope stood up slightly to acknowledge.

Ignatius quietly sat down.

Irvin, beside him, couldn't stop marveling, "Oh my God! Bronte does nothing but eat, play, and skip classes, yet she quietly completes an SCI paper. That's incredible!"

Where did she find the time to write a paper?

Bronte rarely went to the lab, so how did she write a paper without doing experiments?

"Ignatius," Irvin nudged Ignatius's shoulder, "I remember you said you had a paper finalized. Did you submit it? To which journal?"

"No."

"When will you submit it?" Irvin's eyes were full of envy.

He also wanted to have his own academic achievements as soon as possible, like Ignatius and Bronte.

Then he could buy a copy of the journal and send it home to show his parents.

They would definitely be proud of him.

"Not submitting it."

Irvin was still lost in his beautiful fantasy and took a moment to realize. "Not submitting it? What do you mean? Why not?"

Ignatius had spent so much time, day and night, in the lab, repeatedly verifying and analyzing data. How could he just decide not to submit it?

Ignatius's face was expressionless. "There was a problem with the experimental direction, and all the data needs to be redone."

"What?"

Irvin thought, 'Wasn't it already finalized?'

Such a significant deviation shouldn't have been discovered at the last minute.

Seeing Ignatius's expression, Irvin's heart skipped a beat, and he didn't dare to ask further.

Noe said, "Which group is next? Hurry up! Don't waste time!" He said, looking mockingly at Camilla.

Camilla stood up, her tone calm, "Last month, our group applied for a lab, purchased a CPRT measuring instrument at our own expense, and determined our research topic and direction. Everything is progressing normally."

"That's it?" Noe sneered, "That's too short, isn't it? Indeed, without any significant academic achievements, there's not much to write about. You can't just make things up, right?"

Camilla said nothing.

It was true that they hadn't achieved anything, and there was no way to refute that.

Hestia and Royce were furious but helpless.

Bronte chuckled, "Noe, you should be a bit more tactful. Give them some face. Saying it directly like this is quite embarrassing."

Noe shrugged, "If they're afraid of embarrassment, they should leave. I'm not lying."

Camilla took a deep breath and sat down.

The leader on stage spoke, "Next group..."

At that moment, Vice Principal Dwayne Larson took out his phone, gestured with his hand, indicating he needed to take a call.

Then he discreetly turned his back, "Hello..."

Five minutes later, when Dwayne turned back to face the audience, his eyes instantly locked onto Camilla, his expression unusually excited!
