Chapter 252 A Perfect Match

Camilla felt a bit embarrassed, her thoughts seen through, but she wasn't flustered.

After all, it was normal to be a bit guarded when meeting for the first time.

Thinking about it, Elijah and Isadora had been through more than her and should understand better.

Sure enough, Isadora patted her hand. "Especially for a pretty girl like you, it's right to be cautious. Preventing problems before they happen is the best way to protect yourself."

"Okay. You said my voice sounds familiar. I grew up in Starlight City and only came to Imperial City after graduating high school. We shouldn't have met before that."

"True." Isadora smiled.

But for some reason, Camilla saw a hint of disappointment and sadness in Isadora's smile.

Elijah smiled to ease the atmosphere. "Even if we haven't met before, now that we have, it's fate."

Camilla smiled and nodded.

Soon, Marcus came back with water, handing a bottle each to Elijah and Isadora. Then he handed the rest, along with the bag, to Camilla. "There are a few more bottles for your parents. Your mom has a book signing today, and your dad should be here too, right?"

"Yes." Camilla nodded, hesitating whether to take it.

"Take it." Marcus directly handed it to her.

"Thank you."

Marcus said, "What were you talking about? You seemed so happy."

Before coming in, he had seen Elijah smiling from afar, and even the usually hard-to-please Isadora had a slight smile.

Seeing this, Marcus suddenly froze.

How long had it been since he saw them smile?

Last year, when he visited them abroad, Isadora was hospitalized, and Elijah was sighing and worried.

He stayed for two weeks and never saw Elijah smile.

Marcus had tried to persuade them to return to the country, after all, the Langley Family's business was all there.

And the climate back home was clearly more suitable for retirement. Instead of feeling adrift in a foreign land at their age. But no matter how much he talked, it was useless.

Years ago, investigators brought back news that Ella might have been kidnapped to Euravia.

For this one uncertain clue, they had been searching across various countries in Euravia for nearly ten years.

If it weren't for Isadora's health deteriorating, making it impossible to continue, they might never have returned.

Over the years, Marcus had seen it all, worried but powerless. He couldn't even make them happy, but Camilla did.

"Thank you for looking after my grandparents."

Camilla waved her hand. "You're welcome. The book signing is almost over. Since you're back, I'll head up first."

Before leaving, she said goodbye to Elijah and Isadora.

Elijah and Isadora watched her enter the elevator, realizing that there was a book signing event on the third floor.

Seeing their interest, Marcus briefly mentioned the recent hit mystery novel "Seven Days' Discourse."

Isadora's heart stirred, remembering their youngest daughter Ella Langley, who used to say she wanted to be a great writer and create amazing stories.

Memories flooded back, and Ella's image seemed as vivid as yesterday.

Isadora suddenly wanted to see if this author's eyes lit up like Ella's when talking about novels. But as soon as she voiced this thought, Elijah stopped her. "Your eyesight isn't good, and you've been out for a long time today. It's better to go home early."

Thinking of her health, Isadora sighed and gave up.

On the third floor, Sebastian was already planning to go down and look for Camilla.

The elevator doors opened and Camilla stepped out. "Sebastian."

"Where did you go?"

They spoke at the same time: Camilla was relaxed, while Sebastian was anxious, worry hidden in his urgency.

"I ran into Marcus downstairs and got delayed. Here, have some water."

Camilla took a bottle from the bag and handed it over.

Sebastian glanced at the logo on the bag, from the imported supermarket across the street. Camilla wouldn't have gone that far, so it must be...

"Marcus bought it?"

"Yes. I watched his grandparents while he went to the supermarket. They only drink this brand."

Sebastian took the bottle.

Camilla glanced into the event hall. "How's it going? Is it over?"

Sebastian shook his head. "No. There are still a lot of people in line, it might take a while."

The earlier awkwardness was still fresh in her mind, and she didn't want to go back in and get jostled again.

Camilla looked at the book in Sebastian's hand. "Are you going to line up for a signature?"

"I'll wait until the end, no need to squeeze in with them."

"Okay!" Camilla nodded enthusiastically.

Sebastian chuckled.

Camilla said, "What are you laughing at?"

He cleared his throat and suddenly straightened up. "Nothing."

It felt like Sebastian was lying, but she had no proof!

The book signing was supposed to end at 4 PM but dragged on until 5 PM.

Sebastian and Camilla were the last in line, opening the book and placing it in front of Bella.

"Thanks, Mom, can you sign it to me?"

"Thank you."

Bella looked up to see Camilla and Sebastian standing in front of her, both smiling with eyes full of expectation.

For a moment, Bella was dazed, they really looked like a perfect couple.

Shaking her head to dismiss those unrealistic thoughts, she picked up the pen and signed.

Afterwards, Sebastian invited them to dinner.

Alistair said, "How can that be? If anyone's treating, it should be us!"

Sebastian waved the signed book. "Bella's personal signature, isn't that worth a meal?"

Alistair had no response to that.

Sebastian first asked Bella what she wanted to eat, and Bella said anything was fine. Then he asked Alistair.

"I'm not picky; let's see what Camilla wants."

Sebastian then turned his gaze to Camilla.

Camilla thought for a moment before saying, "How about Mexican food?"

None of the three had any objections.

On the way, Camilla was looking at her phone and suddenly exclaimed.

Alistair looked confused and asked, "What's wrong?"

"That Mexican restaurant is really popular, and there are 82 tables ahead of us. If we go now, we'll have to wait a long time."

Bella said, "Should we go somewhere else then?"

Camilla remarked, "Hestia says this place has great food."

Sebastian, driving and looking straight ahead, smiled. "I already made a reservation."

Camilla replied cheerfully, "That's great!"

A few minutes later, she questioned, 'How does he make a last-minute reservation and know I want this specific Mexican restaurant?'

Camilla looked at Sebastian's profile and fell into deep thought.
