Chapter 33 Why Act All Pure Now?
On the way, they only chatted a bit at the start.
Sebastian was driving his usual ride today. Maybe he picked up on her bad mood, so he kept the speed chill and steady.
When they rolled up to the villa area, the security guard at the gate gave Camilla a nod, "Ms. Learmond, long time no see. Been on a business trip?"
Camilla just gave a faint smile and kept quiet.
Sebastian glanced over at her but didn't push it.
They pulled up to the villa's entrance, and Sebastian parked the car.
"Hang tight for a sec. I'll be back after I grab the books," Camilla said as she hopped out.
"Need a hand?"
She shook her head. "No, it's just a few books. I got it."
With that, she headed towards the villa.
She rang the doorbell, and Mira's voice came through, "Hold on!"
When Mira saw her, she was all surprised, "Ms. Learmond! You're finally back!"
Camilla smiled and said, "Just here to pick up some stuff..."
"You're here?"
Before she could finish, Leopold, looking like he just rolled out of bed in his pajamas, stood upstairs with his arms crossed, smirking.
"Did you come alone? Can you handle it?"
Leopold sipped his coffee, looking down coldly.
"Just grabbing some stuff. Whether I can handle it or not is my problem," Camilla shot back and headed straight to the study.
As she passed Leopold, he trailed behind her.
In the study, the books were already sorted. Camilla pulled out a bag and started packing them up carefully.
Leopold just leaned against a cabinet, watching her struggle without lifting a finger to help.
It took her ten minutes to pack. As she tightened the bag and got ready to leave, Leopold, who had been silent, suddenly snapped.
He cursed under his breath, kicked the pile of books, and grabbed her shoulders. "Camilla, can't you see I'm here? What do you take me for? I asked you to come back before, and you blew me off. Now you're here for a few books."
Camilla gasped and struggled. "You're hurting me, let go!"
Leopold ignored her, his eyes bloodshot. "Answer me! What do you take me for? Am I just someone you can summon and dismiss at your whim?"
"Leopold, you were the one who wanted the breakup, remember?! Besides, didn't you do the same to me? What now? Can't handle it?"
She shoved his hands away, not wanting to touch him.
Camilla's look of disgust totally set him off. Leopold stepped closer.
Camilla backed up, her heel hitting the sofa, making her fall onto it.
Leopold looked down at her. Camilla, a bit sweaty, had a blushed face. Nervous, she bit her lip, making it even redder.
Her chest heaved with anxious breaths.
Remembering all those nights they spent together, Leopold's eyes darkened, and he leaned down to kiss her. "Camilla."
Camilla, both shocked and angry, dodged, pushing against Leopold's tall frame. "Leopold! What are you doing? We're done!"
Leopold pinned her down on the sofa, ignoring her struggles, and started yanking at her clothes.
Camilla clung to her hem, refusing to let go. "Don't do this."
Her voice was shaky, filled with fear, like a scared little bird, desperate yet beautiful.
Leopold's body heated up. Forgetting her top, he reached under her skirt.
Camilla panicked. "Leopold, you can have any girl you want. Why force your ex? If you really want, I can call Amara for you right now. Ah! Stop it!"
Seeing her defiant, tear-filled eyes, Leopold's anger flared. "Just a few days apart and you're already acting distant? We had sex before. Why act all pure now?"
Camilla shook with rage. "You bastard!"
Leopold sneered, gripping her chin. "Do you think you'll be worth anything after leaving me? Only a fool would take a woman who's been with other men."
Tears streamed down Camilla's face. Looking at the man she had loved for six years, she realized she had never truly known him.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Leopold chuckled, staring at her trembling lips. "Want me?"
With that, he kissed her hard.
Then, he pried her hands apart and cruelly tore her top.
She cried, he laughed.
At that moment, Camilla realized the physical disparity between men and women.
Forget it!
Just as Camilla was on the brink of despair, the weight on her suddenly lifted.
A strong force pulled Leopold off her.
Caught off guard, Leopold stumbled back several steps, only stopping when his back hit the cabinet hard.
Sebastian, having waited too long for Camilla, guessed that the books might be too heavy and decided to knock on the villa door to help.
After Mira opened the door, he clearly heard the commotion upstairs and rushed up without a second thought.
Pushing open the door, he saw Leopold forcing Camilla onto the sofa, ignoring her struggles and resistance.
Camilla's skirt was hiked up to her waist, her clothes torn. Unable to resist, she could only stare in despair, tears streaming down.
In that instant, Sebastian's rationality shattered, and his calmness vanished.
He thought, 'How dare he!'
"Are you okay?" Sebastian immediately took off his jacket and draped it over Camilla, helping her sit up.
Camilla was trembling violently, her face streaked with tears. Her once lively eyes were now dull, as if trapped in a nightmare.
"Camilla!" Sebastian held her shoulders, his voice steady and reassuring. "It's okay now. It's over. Are you alright?"
"Camilla!"
After he called her name three times, Camilla slowly responded, her pupils focusing on his face. "Sebastian."
She was shaking.
Sebastian's warm palm gently stroked her back repeatedly. "It's okay now. It's over."
Camilla nodded vigorously, tears flowing like a flood.
Seeing the two of them embracing as if no one else was around, Leopold's face darkened. Recognizing Sebastian as the man from the restaurant, he sneered maliciously. "So it's you. Which lover are you to Camilla?"
Before Leopold could finish, a heavy punch landed on his face.
