Chapter 248 Unexpected Meeting
Azalea watched Leopold's departing figure.
Today, she just realized that Leopold's car was a Porsche, he wore a custom suit, and had a Patek Philippe on his wrist.
She looked down at the cake in her hand, her gaze deepening.
On the other side, the reason Camilla didn't go to school was because she was out shopping with Bella.
She had asked for leave from her professional course teacher. Fortunately, there wasn't much new content today, mainly summarizing last week's group project, which Hestia and Royce could report on, so her leave was granted.
Tomorrow was the book signing event, and Bella has hardly attended such formal occasions over the years.
Bella kept picking through her wardrobe, feeling that none of her clothes were suitable.
They just didn't feel right.
Alistair looked sincere. "You look good in anything, really!"
But Bella didn't laugh at this as she usually would.
Camilla immediately understood. "Mom, let's buy new ones! There are so many big malls in the city, we're sure to find something you like!"
Bella's eyes lit up. "Okay!"
Alistair scratched his head awkwardly, wondering why his flattery didn't work all of a sudden.
In a Mall.
The family of three took the sightseeing elevator up, watching the luxury brand stores on the first floor gradually shrink from view until the entire layout came into sight. Bella couldn't help but exclaim, "This mall is huge!"
The clothing stores were on the second and third floors, but they missed the floor and the elevator took them directly to the fourth floor.
Bella was attracted by a bookshelf poster not far away, so they got off on this floor.
This store looked like a bookstore, but it was different from ordinary bookstores; it was a bookstore plus coffee and light meals business model.
The entrance was a café, with the rich aroma of coffee beans wafting through the air.
There were meals in the back.
In the middle were book displays, reading areas, leisure areas, and cultural and creative product sales areas.
What attracted Bella was the promotional wall at the entrance of the bookstore.
The most prominent position on it had a poster of the cover of "Seven Days' Discourse."
And next to it were exaggerated promotional words like "Hit," and "Super Popular."
Inside the reading area, "Seven Days' Discourse" occupied the entire central position of the novel display, and among the people reading, eighty percent were holding "Seven Days' Discourse."
Although Bella had heard from Elmer over the phone about how popular the book was, seeing it with her own eyes still shocked her.
She blinked and looked at Camilla, a bit dazed. "Is this my book?"
"Of course!" Camilla laughed and simply bought a copy in the store, handing it to her, "Flip through it, and you'll feel it's real."
Bella looked down and flipped through a couple of pages, then looked up with a smile. "It really is my book!"
Today's main goal was still to buy clothes, not just for Bella, but for Alistair too.
"Me?" Alistair was startled, then quickly waved his hand, "I have clothes to wear, I don't need any, you two just buy yours."
Camilla told him, "Dad, you're going to accompany Mom to the book signing event tomorrow. What if a reader asks about your identity? As the man behind the author and the prototype of the ultimate boss in the book, shouldn't you dress up properly?"
"That makes sense."
"So, should we buy it?"
Alistair immediately nodded. "We should!"
He didn't mind losing face, but he couldn't let Bella lose face.
They took the elevator down from the fourth floor and went to the men's section on the third floor first.
Alistair was tall, broad-shouldered, and even in middle age, he hadn't gained weight. He tried on several suits, all of which fit well.
Alistair asked Bella. "Bella, which one do you think looks good?"
Camilla also instinctively looked at Bella.
Bella pondered for a moment. "They all look good."
"Then how do we choose?"
Bella. "No need to choose. Buy them all."
"No, no, how much will that cost? I only need one, I have more at home."
But Bella had already taken out her bank card and handed it to the sales assistant. "All three, please. Wrap them up for me, thank you."
"You're welcome!" The sales assistant happily went to check out.
Alistair tugged at Bella's sleeve. "Bella, this is too expensive."
"It's okay, I'm buying it for you." Bella's tone was gentle, "I just received a royalty payment yesterday, over a hundred thousand dollars."
Alistair was dumbfounded. "That much?"
"Yes~"
"Bella, you're awesome!" Bella's cheeks flushed.
Camilla coughed heavily.
Alistair tried quickly and bought decisively, but Bella, in the women's section on the second floor, wasn't satisfied with several stores.
Some clothes she even dismissed with just a glance, without any desire to try them on.
Camilla suddenly remembered a niche brand, so niche that even its store location was not good, in a corner far from the elevator.
But the clothes were indeed beautiful. As soon as Bella stepped in, her eyes lit up.
No need for Camilla to help pick, Bella had her own ideas and aesthetics.
Bella first picked two dresses to try on, one orange and one blue, different styles but both flattering to her complexion.
The skirt patterns were lace and embroidery elements, with an elegant charm, and the accessory designs were also innovative, like the lace at the wrist and the tassels on the chest, but still missing something.
Bella continued walking forward, suddenly stopping, her gaze falling on a black dress in the window, unable to move.
The black dress's design was not as bold as the previous two, with fewer elements.
The single black color even looked a bit rigid, but the waist was cinched with a white scarf, the white gauze draping lightly, blending with the black skirt.
Simple and romantic, very French.
Paloma rarely had the leisure to go shopping today.
She didn't care about brands, only about what caught her eye. Passing by a niche brand store in a corner, she was suddenly attracted by the black dress in the window.
The simple design wasn't eye-catching at first glance, but it highlighted the white scarf at the waist.
She entered the store.
After trying on several dresses, she found that the black dress she first saw was still the best.
Paloma was about to ask the sales assistant to wrap it up and check out when she turned around and saw the dress she had just tried on was now on another woman.
Paloma frowned.
The sales assistant thought she was going to get angry, mentally preparing for the worst, but saw Paloma already walking towards Bella.
The sales assistant's mind was already imagining the explosive scene that would follow.
After all, judging by their outfits and demeanor, these two were clearly not ordinary people.
Paloma was bold and imposing; Bella was strikingly beautiful and elegant.
And these wealthy ladies hated nothing more than wearing the same outfit.
