Chapter 52 The Confrontation Between Leopold and Marcus

Early morning at the airport.

Leopold was chillin' in the VIP lounge, just scrolling through Facebook.

Boarding was still like half an hour away, and he was bored out of his mind, wishing the plane would just take off already.

Suddenly, he sat up straight, eyes glued to his phone.

Marcus had posted something yesterday—a pic of a beach, blue sky, clear sea, and a killer sunset.

The caption said: [Reefhaven Isles has awesome weather, and most importantly, I get to see someone special.]

Someone commented: [Marcus, are you on vacation?]

Marcus replied: [I'm here for one woman.]

Another person commented: [Marcus must be seeing someone.]

Marcus just responded with a smiley emoji.

Leopold's face darkened as he kept scrolling.

They had way too many mutual friends, and he couldn't keep up with all the comments, which were mostly gossiping about Marcus's love life. Marcus had someone spread fake news, and now he was off to Reefhaven Isles to find Camilla.

Just then, the announcement for boarding the flight to Reefhaven Isles came on. He put away his phone, grabbed his coat, and left the VIP lounge.

Unexpectedly, as he opened the door, Amara was about to come in. Their eyes met, and her action of pushing the door turned into a hug.

Leopold was caught off guard and just stood there, stunned.

"Baby, you're so sweet. I mentioned I hadn't been to Reefhaven Isles, and you remembered."

Amara stood up straight, shaking the boarding pass in her hand, "I heard the water villas there are right by the sea. You can fall asleep to the sound of the waves, wake up to the sunrise, and there's a beautiful sandbar."

Leopold's brow twitched, and he responded half-heartedly, "I need to use the restroom."

With that, he walked away quickly.

In a corner, he dialed John's number, looking pissed.

"John, if you get tired of your job, just let me know!"

John was freaked out. "Mr. Wipere, what do you mean by that?"

"If I remember right, I only asked you to book a one-way ticket for me yesterday. Who told you to book two tickets? And give one to Amara? If your ears are broken, go get them checked."

John immediately realized it was the new employee's screw-up.

But he didn't make excuses and owned up to it. "Sorry, I didn't give clear instructions and didn't check afterward."

Leopold's tone softened a bit. "You can't have another one of these."

"Baby, why did it take so long? Boarding is almost over." Amara saw him coming out of the restroom and immediately approached him.

"Let's go."

Since it was a mistake, he had to roll with it.

Amara, like a happy little bird, said, "I'm so excited. This is my first time going abroad."

Knowing they were going to Reefhaven Isles, she had put on light makeup and packed several sexy bikinis in her suitcase.

Since the last time Leopold got drunk and they accidentally slept together, he hadn't slept with her again.

No matter how much Amara hinted, he didn't respond.

This trip to Reefhaven Isles might be a good opportunity.

The flight landed, and they arrived at their destination.

Amara had only seen Reefhaven Isles in pictures and videos. Experiencing it for the first time, she couldn't help but snap pics with her phone.

Suddenly, she realized she and Leopold had never taken a photo together.

Her trip to Reefhaven Isles was all her roommates could talk about. She rolled her eyes and suddenly turned the phone towards Leopold.

Leopold, who hadn't slept well the night before, was already feeling drowsy. He yawned, looked up, and saw Amara snapping a pic of him. His face immediately darkened, and he blocked the phone.

Amara was stunned. "Baby, this is our first trip abroad together. Shouldn't we take a photo?"

Leopold shrugged it off, "I don't like taking pictures."

With that, he closed his eyes to rest.

Amara bit her lower lip, feeling bummed out.

Reefhaven Isles had blue skies and vast seas. As soon as they got off the plane, staff members came to greet them.

After checking in, the staff took care of their luggage. Leopold, feeling a bit tired, walked towards the elevator. Suddenly, he looked up and saw Marcus.

Marcus had just come out of the elevator, rocking a vacation-style short-sleeved shirt and matching beach shorts.

Maybe it was his great physique or his handsome face, but he managed to make the tacky outfit look kinda "elegant."

Marcus noticed Leopold right away. He was stunned, then walked over with a half-smile, twirling a pair of sunglasses on his finger, looking all carefree and casual.

"Hey, here for a vacation?"

Leopold, expressionless. "Yeah, what a coincidence?"

Marcus smirked. "Maybe it's destiny? But you were slow; I got here a day earlier than you."

Hearing this, Leopold's face darkened even more. "Thanks to some people's fake news, I was delayed. But it seems arriving a day early didn't get you anywhere, did it?"

Marcus said nothing.

"You think all your little tricks, even following her here, will move her? I know her too well. As long as I'm here, you'll never have a chance."

Leopold was super confident about this.

Given that he and Camilla were in a relationship, even if they became exes, Marcus wouldn't stand a chance.

Marcus's eyes darkened, and he looked at Amara with a meaningful glance. "How do you know it's impossible without trying? People change, and so do you."

"Enjoy your vacation." With that, Marcus patted Leopold on the shoulder.

Leopold dodged. "Whether I enjoy it or not is none of your concern. But youmight not be too comfortable."

With that, Leopold strode into the elevator.

Amara quickly followed, holding Leopold's hand a bit tightly.

She thought, 'Is Camilla here too?'

The elevator door opened, and Leopold pulled his hand away, "I have something to do. You go have fun."

With that, he walked away without looking back.

Camilla looked at the fox mask in her hand, the carvings and craftsmanship were exquisite, and the eyes were lifelike.

"Where did you get this? It's quite pretty." Camilla's questioning gaze turned to Juniper.

Camilla tried it on, covering only the upper half of her face. Surprisingly, it matched her well, with no sense of discord.

"At eight tonight, the hotel is hosting a masquerade ball. Everyone must wear a mask to enter. I picked a little fox for you. Not bad, right?"

Juniper glanced at her outfit. Today, Camilla was wearing a red and white long skirt, with a pearl hairpin in her hair, and a red pendant hanging by her temple, swaying with a charming allure.

It matched the little fox on the mask perfectly.
