Chapter 210 Kissed
To be precise, they were staring at her and Simon!
Natalia said, "Look at those two, so sweet!"
Lila said, "I've never seen Simon be so forward with any girl before."
Natalia looked happy. "Juniper isn't just any girl. Whether it's her background or upbringing, she's top-notch. Simon finally did something right."
"Simon never makes mistakes at critical moments."
"If he can stay with Juniper, I'd wake up laughing in my sleep."
"Huh? Why does Simon look a bit off?"
"Really?" Natalia squinted her eyes and looked closely, "It does seem like it. Does Juniper look a bit stiff to you?"
The two were so close, it shouldn't be like that.
Downstairs, Simon said quietly, "Don't move, my mom is already suspicious."
Juniper asked, "How long has she been here?"
"She was there before you took the call."
Juniper felt even more guilty.
Natalia said, "Why are they just holding each other?"
Juniper heard this loud and clear.
She was a responsible person. She caused this, so she should solve it.
She looked at Simon steadily. "Kiss me."
Seeing Simon hesitated, Juniper urged, "What are you waiting for? Hurry up!"
Simon swallowed, his gaze deepening, like a bottomless abyss swirling with a mysterious vortex.
The next second, he domineeringly wrapped his arms around Juniper's slender waist and kissed her with a forceful, undeniable stance.
Juniper was surprised.
Wet and hot, lips and tongues entwined.
"Oh my! They're kissing! Lila, let's go quickly, don't make them feel awkward."
"Exactly."
Natalia left.
There was a crisp sound.
Simon was dumbfounded. "Why did you slap me?"
Juniper's legs were weak. "Why did you really kiss me?"
Besides, she didn't slap him; she just pushed him away.
There was a difference between that and a slap.
"Didn't you tell me to kiss you?"
Juniper gritted her teeth. "I told you to pretend to kiss!"
"My mom is so sharp, if it wasn't real, do you think she'd believe it?"
Simon said, "Besides, kissing you, I'm the one at a loss. Do you know how many women out there are lining up to kiss me?"
Juniper gave a sarcastic smile. "What a coincidence, there are plenty of men lining up to kiss me too."
Simon was lost for words.
After a while, he said quietly. "Are their kissing as good as mine?"
Juniper replied, "You're just average. I've seen better."
Natalia's voice came from upstairs. "Juniper, are you rested? It's time to start the anti-aging project."
"I'm coming!"
Saying this, she was about to go upstairs when she suddenly realized she left her phone on the couch. She went back to get it.
Lyle had been so pitifully begging for affection, and she had abruptly hung up on him earlier. He must be feeling anxious and hurt now, so she should at least send a message, right?
However, Simon was faster. He grabbed the phone and held it in his hand.
Juniper asked, "What are you doing? Give it to me."
Simon replied seriously, "Why play with your phone during a beauty treatment? Can't you seriously accompany my mom? What if you get too engrossed and accidentally say something you shouldn't?"
Juniper thought it seemed to make some sense.
Then she went upstairs.
Simon looked down at the phone, his jaw clenched tightly.
In the morning, Camilla left for school.
She couldn't help but glance at the house next door.
The door was tightly shut, no movement.
It was then she realized, it seemed like she hadn't seen Sebastian for a while.
They usually left around the same time, often running into each other, but recently she hadn't seen him at all.
Maybe Sebastian was too busy and stayed at the lab.
Camilla didn't think much of it.
In the evening, she stayed at the library for a while and came back around eight.
As soon as she entered the building, a figure flashed by behind her.
It was Sebastian on a night run.
She quickly called out, "Sebastian!"
However, Sebastian ran off as if he hadn't heard her.
Camilla was puzzled.
Maybe her voice was too soft, or he was wearing headphones?
Camilla went home, changed into workout clothes, and decided to go for a run too.
She could also run into Sebastian and ask if he had any channels to purchase CPRT.
Actually, when it came to buying equipment, the first people she thought of were Sebastian and Aurora.
Aurora hadn't been well lately, frequently visiting the hospital, so Camilla didn't want to bother her.
If the self-funded equipment purchase got out, the issue of Calliope's team maliciously occupying the lab would also be exposed.
Given Aurora's temper, she might rush out of the hospital to confront Calliope and the academy.
But the academy's current stance clearly favored Calliope.
Aurora wouldn't gain anything.
She'd just get angry for nothing, affecting her health, which wasn't worth it.
So, it was best to find Sebastian.
But for some reason, Camilla had sent him two messages and made a call, but Sebastian neither replied nor answered.
Camilla guessed he might be too busy to check his phone.
Trying to catch Sebastian in person, she only ran into him today.
Camilla had contacted Marcus and set a dinner date for tomorrow, but subconsciously, she still preferred to get resources from Sebastian.
She had also thought about why she had this idea.
Maybe compared to Marcus's uncertainty and strong aggressiveness, Sebastian made her feel more at ease.
Perhaps it was Sebastian's inherent integrity or his courteous demeanor, so his help didn't make Camilla feel as pressured.
She didn't have to constantly worry about how much she owed and what she had to do to repay it.
As for Marcus, his intentions towards her were too obvious and too straightforward.
So straightforward that Camilla was deterred.
Camilla followed the route they usually ran together, but after two laps, she still didn't see Sebastian.
She ran another lap, but still no sign of him.
She broke a sweat, and the exercise was enough, so she went upstairs and went home.
Once home, Camilla didn't close the door completely, leaving a small gap.
She prepared ingredients for the porridge she would eat in the morning, while keeping an ear out for any sounds outside the door.
She waited and waited, cleaned up the kitchen, but still didn't hear any movement from next door.
Camilla decided to knock on the door, "Sebastian, are you home? I have something to ask you."
No response.
"Sebastian?"
Still no response.
Could he not be back? Or did he leave again?
At the lab.
Hector's eyes were wide like saucers. "Why are you back?"
Sebastian replied, "Overtime."
"You've already pulled three all-nighters. You said you'd go home to rest today. You left a few hours ago, and now you're telling me you're back for overtime?"
Sebastian said, "Is there a problem?"
Hector said, "I don't have a problem, but I think you do."
