Chapter 246 So Slender

Bella said calmly, "We won't accept these. First, we're not related, so whether they're valuable or not, we can't take them. Second, you and Camilla are over now, just strangers. We have no reason to accept your things."

The only time they met, she and Alistair waited for him in the restaurant for nearly half an hour.

Leopold came empty-handed, greeted them briefly, and then buried his head in his food.

He hardly said a word the entire time.

At that moment, Bella thought that such a man was definitely not a good match for Camilla.

But Camilla was hopelessly devoted. After Leopold left with an excuse, she found every reason to defend him.

Bella said nothing, just felt heartache.

Heartache for Camilla's compromise, and even more for her lack of respect from Leopold.

No matter how their relationship was, at least Leopold showed a disrespectful attitude towards them!

If a man didn't respect his girlfriend's parents, how could he respect her?

As a mother, Bella came with joy and left with worry.

Actually, she could have explained all these reasons to Camilla, or even been forceful and said they were not suitable and must break up.

But Bella didn't.

She knew that if Camilla didn't walk this path to the end, with her personality, she would regret it and be haunted by it in the future.

When children grew up, parents needed to learn to let go.

Let her find her own way.

But Bella didn't expect that letting go would result in Camilla giving up her combined master's and doctoral program!

The price was too high.

Bella continued, "Fortunately, it's all in the past now. Camilla has started a new life. If you still feel any guilt towards her, please don't disturb her anymore."

Bella didn't like to argue or make a fuss, so she spoke gently and slowly.

However, her gentle tone conveyed such cruel words.

Leopold's body swayed slightly.

Inside, Alistair heard the commotion, came out to take a look, and his expression suddenly turned cold. "What are you doing here?"

Leopold opened his mouth to say something, but Alistair waved his hand, not giving him a chance. "We know about you and Camilla. Since you're already separated, just go your own ways. You should leave now."

No wonder they were a couple; they said the same thing.

Leopold lowered his eyes, his lips tightly pressed. "Sorry to bother you."

He turned and went downstairs with the items, only to bump into Sebastian, who was coming home from the lab.

Their eyes met, but Sebastian's expression remained unchanged.

Leopold's eyes were turbulent.

As they brushed past each other, Leopold heard Alistair's enthusiastic greeting behind him. "Sebastian, you're back? I haven't finished reading the papers you sent me last time. It's really kind of you to print them out and send them to me when an electronic version would have sufficed."

Sebastian replied, "It's no trouble. I remember you mentioned before that although online documents are convenient, you still prefer reading on paper. I planned to give them to you directly, but Camilla said you had already gone back, so I thought it would be a waste not to send them."

Alistair smiled, "That's right! Such a thick stack, it would be a shame to waste it."

"Yes."

"By the way, Sebastian, I made some roasted pork ribs today. You probably haven't eaten yet, right? Come and have some."

"Thank you then."

"You're not an outsider, no need to be polite."

"I'll go home and put my things away first."

"You can put them away later. Come in and have a cup of tea first. I just brewed it, and it's at its best now. It won't taste as good if you wait."

"Okay."

Alistair immediately turned happily and shouted into the house. "Camilla, Sebastian is back! Wash a cup for him."

"Okay." The moment Camilla's voice came through, Leopold's heart broke into pieces!

Alistair's enthusiasm towards Sebastian and his coldness towards Leopold were starkly different.

Leopold didn't hear the rest of the conversation; he was already two floors down.

He vaguely heard the sound of a door closing, probably Sebastian entering Camilla's house.

Leopold returned to the villa with a bunch of gifts that he didn't get to give.

Mira had already finished cleaning and left.

The house was empty again, just as cold and lonely as when Camilla had just left.

Leopold went upstairs to the master bedroom.

The dressing table at the foot of the bed had been neglected for a long time, with unused skincare products still on it, but their owner no longer wanted them.

Just like Camilla no longer wanted him.

Leopold opened the drawer below, which used to contain a check, a land transfer contract, and a diamond bracelet.

The diamonds formed the Sagittarius constellation.

It was designed by a famous designer for Camilla's 22nd birthday, symbolizing that she was the eternal star in his life.

To surprise her, Leopold deliberately had a fight with her, didn't answer her calls, and didn't reply to her messages.

Until midnight on her birthday, he appeared at the gate of Harmony College with the bracelet, giving her the most unexpected surprise.

But for some reason, although Camilla accepted the bracelet and they cleared up the misunderstanding and reconciled, Leopold felt she wasn't very happy.

After that, he saw her wear the bracelet a few times.

But it was like a curse; every time Camilla wore the bracelet, they would have a big fight.

Later, Camilla simply locked the bracelet in the drawer and never wore it again.

"Leopold, I don't want to fight with you. I really don't. Every time we fight, I feel our relationship fading, and we're drifting apart." At that time, Camilla sat down and seriously talked to him.

But he had just had a gathering with Oliver and others that night, and although he seemed sober, he was already drunk.

He didn't hear a word of what Camilla said.

He just mumbled in agreement, and the next day when Camilla asked, he was completely clueless.

That was the first time Leopold saw such obvious disappointment and sadness in Camilla's eyes.

On the other side, at Camilla's house, things was just right.

"Here, Sebastian, try this." Alistair smiled as he introduced the dish.

"Thank you, I'll help myself."

"How is it? How does it taste?"

"Delicious."

Alistair smiled even more happily. "Then have some more!"

"Okay."

"After we eat, let's play a game of chess!"

After dinner, Alistair set up the chessboard early, waiting for Sebastian to play with him.

Sebastian, however, rolled up his sleeves. "I'll help clean up the kitchen first."

Alistair stopped him, "No need, Camilla will clean up."

It was not that Alistair didn't care about Camilla; rather, he had already tidied up after cooking.

What needed to be washed was already washed, and what needed to be tidied was already tidied. So there wasn't much left to do.

Sebastian was silent for a moment. "I ate too much and want to move around a bit. I'll help clean up first."

Alistair didn't think much of it. "Is that so? Then thank you."

"It's no trouble."

Sebastian carried the dishes into the kitchen.

Camilla was tying her apron, her hands behind her back, looking a bit stiff as if she was having some difficulty.

Sebastian spoke up at the right time, "Need some help?"

"That would be great, my hands are greasy, and I don't want to get it dirty."

No wonder her movements looked so stiff.

"Let me." Sebastian picked up the two straps and skillfully tied a knot.

As the straps tightened, Camilla's waistline was instantly highlighted.

She was so slender.

Sebastian wondered if he could wrap his hands around it.
