Chapter 94 Leopold Breaks Up

Amara got snatched up right in front of everyone. She looked freaked out and immediately started wondering if her overseas shenanigans had been found out.

But seeing all the shocked and curious faces around her, she forced a smile and said, "Maybe there's some mix-up? I'll go check it out."

Her three roommates exchanged glances, totally clueless, and just watched as Amara was taken away.

"What the heck is happening? I'm so lost."

"Did something go down?"

"What do we do now? Should we call her parents?"

"Do you even have their number?"

One of the roommates shook her head.

Then she remembered that one time Leopold had dropped Amara off at the dorm and left a business card with his number on it.

She sprinted back to the dorm, found the card, and dialed the number.

Leopold had just wrapped up a meeting and was about to head out when his personal phone buzzed.

He had two phones, and only a few people had his personal number, so even though the caller ID was unknown, he picked up.

"Is this Leopold? I'm Amara's roommate. The cops just came to the school and took her away! I'm freaking out. Can you go to the police station and check on her?"

Leopold frowned, listening to the panicked voice on the other end, and said calmly, "Got it, I'll take care of it."

He grabbed his coat and headed downstairs. The driver opened the car door, and Leopold slid in, saying, "Take me to the police station."

He thought, 'Why would the cops take Amara for no reason? They must have a reason.'

Leopold rubbed his phone, a cold glint in his eyes. He called his assistant, "Amara got taken to the police station. Find out what's going on."

At the police station, just as the cops had guessed, the incident happened abroad and couldn't be prosecuted. They gave Amara a mild verbal warning and let her go.

When Amara was brought in, her heart was racing. It wasn't until she heard she could leave that she finally relaxed.

As soon as she walked out of the police station, she spotted a Cayenne parked at the entrance.

Leaning against the car was a tall figure, fiddling with a phone. Who else could it be but Leopold?

"Baby, you came to get me." Amara's face lit up with happiness.

Her joy quickly faded as she caught the icy stare in Leopold's eyes. Her smile faltered, leaving her feeling foolish.

Leopold slowly straightened up and walked towards her, step by step. "Was the Reefhaven Isles incident your doing?"

Amara got scared and instinctively tried to grab Leopold's hand. "Baby, it's not like that. Let me explain."

Leopold coldly shook off her hand, his eyes full of mockery. "The facts are clear. What is there to explain?"

When the assistant called, he had just arrived at the police station. He listened to the whole story with a dark expression and realized that the Reefhaven Isles incident was no accident!

Amara was the mastermind. And he had been played like a fool.

Despite Marcus's repeated warnings, he believed in Amara's goodness and never doubted her. But Amara betrayed his trust.

Facing Leopold's icy stare, Amara's heart sank, but she still wouldn't fess up.

She said, "Baby, I did all this 'cause I love you. I just wanna be with you. Please, forgive me this time. I swear it won't happen again!"

Leopold's face stayed stone-cold, his lips curling slightly as he watched her desperate plea, his eyes like ice. "Didn't you know what you did was illegal? Don't use loving me as an excuse. Hurting the people I care about, is that your idea of love? Let's be real, everything you did was for yourself!"

"Let's break up. From now on, stay out of my sight. I don't want anything to do with you."

Amara tried to grab his sleeve, but Leopold squinted and coldly warned, "I won't say it again. Considering you saved me once, I'll let you off this time. But don't think you'll always be this lucky."

With that, Leopold got into the car without a backward glance and sped off.

Amara wanted to chase after him, but after a few steps, she felt a dull pain in her lower abdomen.

She was usually healthy and rarely had menstrual cramps. Plus, her period had been late for more than half a month, probably due to all the stress lately.

Feeling a wet sensation between her legs and watching Leopold's car disappear, Amara decided to hit the hospital first.

After registering for an emergency appointment, the doctor asked some questions and then ordered a few routine tests.

Half an hour later, holding the test results, Amara was still in shock. "You said I'm pregnant?"

The doctor replied, "The HCG test is positive, confirming pregnancy. You're still in the early stages, so as long as the bleeding isn't heavy, you just need to rest well."

Amara didn't hear anything the doctor said except the word "pregnancy."

Holding the test results, her confused expression turned determined, as if she had suddenly found direction, her eyes brightening.

She thought, 'I'm pregnant! For the sake of the child, Leopold can't break up with me, right?'

Then she couldn't wait to grab a cab to the villa.

The password lock hadn't been changed yet, and Amara successfully used her fingerprint to unlock it. The door swung open.

Leopold was still fuming. He had been played like a fool by a woman!

When those documents came through, he guessed that Marcus had a hand in it. The thought of Marcus mocking him behind his back only fueled Leopold's anger.

Hearing the door open, he impatiently said, "Mira, I already said I'm not hungry!"

The voice stopped abruptly. He turned and saw Amara, his eyes quickly filling with anger. "You dare to come here? Do you think I won't lay a hand on you?"

Leopold stood on the stairs, looking down at her.

The undisguised contempt and rejection made Amara instinctively want to retreat.

But when her hand touched the test results in her bag, she regained her confidence.

"Baby, I'm pregnant. I just got checked at the hospital. It's almost two months. You're gonna be a dad," she stated.

"Get rid of it."

Amara froze. "What did you say?"

Leopold, with one hand in his pocket, repeated impatiently, "I said get rid of it. Didn't you hear?"

He took out a card and casually tossed it on the ground. "Here's three million dollars. Take it. Our relationship is completely over. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other."
