Chapter 135 What a Wonderful Existence He Has Lost
Leopold had a killer headache and was getting more and more pissed off. He muted his phone and slammed it face down on the table, snapping, "Let's continue."
No one dared to look at him.
After the meeting wrapped up, Leopold went back to his office, picked up his phone, and let out a bitter laugh.
Amara was using his secondary card, and all the transaction alerts were blowing up his phone.
Seeing the nonstop notifications, Leopold's temple veins throbbed. Just as he was about to put his phone down, Amara sent a message: [Leopold, I bought all these. Do you like them? I also got you a tie and a coat.]
He glanced at it and then blocked her with a cold smile.
Leopold rubbed his temples, walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked at the bustling traffic below, once again unable to stop thinking about Camilla.
Lately, he couldn't get Camilla out of his head, even dreaming about her.
Back in the day, he had given Camilla a black card too. But Camilla only used it for basic living expenses and non-personal shopping, like buying stuff for Elodie during holidays. For other expenses, she mostly used her own money.
Leopold knew she could write programs and take on freelance work, but he wasn't sure how much she made. Probably not a lot.
After all, Camilla rarely bought luxury brands.
The jewelry, designer bags, and other fancy stuff in the closet were all things he had bought for her. Unless it was a necessary occasion, Camilla rarely touched them.
After they broke up, she left all those things in the villa without a second thought, like she was tossing out trash.
And Amara's presence was like a curse, constantly reminding Leopold of the amazing girlfriend he had lost and the awful one he had now.
Seeing that Leopold hadn't replied, Amara sent another message, but it showed a red exclamation mark.
He actually blocked her!
Amara's cheeks flushed with anger, her chest heaving, and her stomach started to cramp. She quickly took a deep breath.
After calming down, she pointed at the two nannies and ordered, "I want some coconut water. Go get it for me."
"I'll go. You stay here and watch the stuff," one nanny said to the other.
"Okay."
Amara sneered, "I told both of you to go. Don't you understand English?"
"But what about these things?"
Amara replied casually, "Carry them."
The two nannies exchanged glances, seeing the helplessness and hidden anger in each other's eyes.
She was just trying to make things difficult for them.
Amara didn't care about any of this. She only knew that she had been mistreated by Leopold and Elodie and needed to vent her frustration somewhere to feel better.
That night, Leopold didn't come home again.
Amara sat among a pile of shopping bags, crying and laughing, then started throwing things.
Mira thought, 'Again? Forget it, go ahead, break more stuff. I'll clean it up in the morning.' Mira lay back down, turned over, pulled the blanket over her head, and continued to sleep.
The other two nannies probably saw this coming, so they immediately asked Elodie for leave as soon as they got back from the mall.
One said she had a backache and needed to go to the hospital; the other said there was no one to take care of her grandson at home, so she had to help out.
So, when Amara, as usual, stormed out of the bedroom with disheveled hair, ready to throw a fit, she was surprised to find the villa empty, not a single person in sight.
She stood there stunned for two seconds and then screamed, "Mira——"
"Where the hell is everyone!"
"My stomach hurts!"
When Amara's complaints about her stomach didn't get her the attention she wanted, she finally quieted down.
She stormed back to the bedroom and slammed the door shut.
The next morning, as soon as Mira got up and hadn't even put on her uniform, she heard Amara shouting upstairs, "Someone take me to the hospital!"
Mira's mouth twitched. Last time, she was genuinely worried. But this time, she took her time.
She pulled out her phone and called the driver, "Hey, Amara's stomach hurts again."
The driver replied, "Alright, I'm on my way."
Mira then called Elodie, "Madam, here's the situation..."
The whole process was second nature by now.
Later, Elodie stood in the hallway outside the ward with a cold expression.
The doctor repeated the same thing as yesterday, "It's nothing serious, just needs more rest."
Elodie couldn't take it anymore and stormed into the ward, yelling, "Running to the hospital for every little thing, do you think this is a joke? Is your brain just for show? I've never seen anyone as pretentious as you. You can't even handle a simple pregnancy. What's the use of you?"
Elodie thought back to when Camilla was around. Not only did she take good care of Leopold, but she also never caused any trouble.
Whenever something came up, she would find a way to handle it herself; if she couldn't, she would discuss it calmly without making a fuss.
Looking at Amara on the hospital bed, Elodie only felt she was more annoying than a cricket, more bothersome than a cockroach!
She would make a big deal out of every little thing, making the whole family run around in chaos, as if the whole world should revolve around her.
What a nuisance!
Amara didn't take Elodie's words to heart at all.
That afternoon, after being discharged from the hospital, she claimed her stomach hurt again the next morning and wanted to go back to the hospital.
At first, Elodie would take Mira's report calls, but after a while, she simply instructed Mira, "Handle it yourself. No need to call me every time. That's it."
From then on, Elodie finally had some peace.
Elodie was done dealing with Amara's things. She thought, 'If she wants to make a fuss, let her.'
There was Juniper's birthday.
The gift Camilla had prepared finally arrived two days before the big day.
It was the "Stellar Eternity Remembrance" diamond necklace designed by the famous jewelry designer Cherry Xia, which Juniper had been longing for.
The pure blue diamond, like the ocean, was the soul of this series. Blue represented "hope," and in a globally popular romance movie, the token of love between the main characters was this necklace.
As the movie's popularity soared, the necklace sold out everywhere.
It was no longer available domestically. The one Camilla sent was bought overseas with some effort.
Juniper couldn't wait to have Camilla help put it on. "Oh my God! It's so beautiful! No wonder everyone wants it. I asked at the store several times, and they always said it was out of stock."
Juniper was wearing an off-shoulder mermaid dress today, and the light blue color perfectly complemented the "Stellar Eternity Remembrance."
Absolutely stunning!
At a leisure club.
On the large terrace with floor-to-ceiling windows, soothing music, and exquisite desserts, Elodie was having coffee with a few close friends.
Ever since Mira stopped reporting Amara's situation to her, she felt like the whole world had brightened up.
Occasionally, she couldn't help but wonder if insisting on keeping Amara's baby was the right decision.
