Chapter 198 The Yellow Roses He Sent

The opening ceremony ended, and Camilla's graduate life began.

There were many courses, almost all scheduled from nine in the morning until noon.

On the first day of class, Hestia almost arrived late.

She came directly in flip-flops and shorts.

Camilla was stunned for a moment and reminded her, "Hestia, did you forget to change your shoes?"

"Huh?" Hestia looked down at her flip-flops, "No, these are the ones. What's wrong?"

"You're wearing flip-flops to class?"

"Yeah, is there a problem? Back home, we always wear flip-flops and shorts in the summer."

Royce glanced over and asked, "Is that appropriate?"

Hestia replied, "Why wouldn't it be appropriate?"

Royce said, "Alright, as long as you're happy."

Then he remained silent.

After class, the three of them planned to have lunch together.

During their conversation, Camilla learned that neither of them lived on campus.

Royce lived in his family's house, while Hestia rented an apartment near the school.

Upon further inquiry, it turned out to be not far from where Camilla lived.

Hestia quite liked Camilla. Hestia was overweight and often ridiculed for her body. From childhood to adulthood, few girls took the initiative to befriend her.

But Camilla was an exception.

Camilla looked stunningly beautiful but was approachable and didn't judge her figure.

"Camilla, I heard there's a small restaurant near our school that's really good. A lot of influencers have been there, and it's very popular. Plus, it's cheap. How about we go there today..." Before she could finish, a bouquet of roses suddenly appeared in front of her.

To be precise, it appeared in front of Camilla.

Leopold, dressed in a suit with a slightly open collar and well-fitted cropped pants, revealing his long legs, walked up to Camilla with a bouquet of yellow roses.

"Camilla, long time no see."

Hestia's eyes darted around, and she tactfully pulled Royce away.

"What are you doing?" Royce frowned.

"Didn't you see someone giving Camilla flowers?"

"So what?"

"Do you want to interrupt them?"

Camilla looked at Leopold, her brow furrowing instinctively, "What are you doing here?"

"Your favorite yellow roses, wishing you a successful start to the school year."

He handed the flowers over.

Camilla took a step back, creating some distance between them. "I don't want them."

He gave a bitter smile, "Can't I even say congratulations?"

"You can say it, but I won't accept the flowers." Camilla didn't fall into his trap.

"Do we really have to come to this?"

"Haven't we already come to this long ago?"

He was at a loss for words.

"Wow! Someone's giving flowers!"

"That guy is so handsome!"

"Who's the girl? Does anyone know her?"

"She looks a bit unfamiliar. Could she be a new student?"

At the bustling school gate, Leopold's high-profile gesture naturally drew attention.

Although most people didn't know Camilla, some did.

"Hey, isn't that the older graduate student?"

Bronte paused.

Azalea, who was with her, also stopped and looked in the same direction.

The next second, she was stunned.

A tall, handsome man was presenting yellow roses to Camilla, but her expression wasn't pleasant.

Bronte clicked her tongue. "Being pretty sure has its advantages. It's only been a few days since school started, and someone is already pursuing her? By the way, Azalea, you're not bad-looking either. Why hasn't anyone given you flowers?"

Azalea smiled slightly, not falling for the provocation, "Is that even comparable?"

"Stop pretending to be aloof. I don't believe you're not envious!"

Azalea's smile remained unchanged.

Bronte left with a parting shot, "Pretending too much becomes hypocrisy." Then she walked away.

Azalea stood there, her smile gradually fading.

Not far away, two boys were standing.

Ignatius said, "Did you remember everything I told you?"

Irvin scratched his head, then noticed something and exclaimed.

Ignatius followed his gaze and saw the flower-giving scene, frowning. "If you want to go further in academia, don't let unimportant things distract you, like dating."

"Oh, I got it, Ignatius!" Irvin nodded vigorously.

However, "That girl seems to be Aurora's student." He paused and added, "She's really impressive."

She could render Noe speechless and dared to publicly mock Calliope.

Pretty cool!

Ignatius wasn't interested. After the glance, he didn't look that way again.

"Let's go. I'll take you to the nearby supermarket to buy some essentials."

Irvin quickly waved his hand, "No need, I brought everything."

Ignatius's mouth twitched, "Is it the already frayed toothbrush or the towel with a hole in it?"

Irvin's dark face turned a bit red with embarrassment, "I thought they were still usable, so I didn't get new ones."

New ones cost money.

Ignatius sighed, as if seeing his former self.

They both came from the same village, but Ignatius had left earlier, attending Harmony College for his undergraduate studies.

Irvin had only attended an average university for his undergraduate, not a prestigious one.

After much effort and two attempts, he finally got into Harmony College for graduate school.

Given their shared hometown and long acquaintance, Ignatius naturally took extra care of him.

For kids like them from rural areas, care and warmth were luxuries in this unfamiliar city.

Having once been through hardships himself, he couldn't help but want to help others.

"I'll buy them for you."

"No, no," Irvin quickly waved his hand, "I have money. My parents gave me plenty when I left."

Ignatius said nothing more and just led him to the supermarket.

As for confessions, men, and women, they had nothing to do with him.

For people like them, even buying a new toothbrush was a big decision, while others could casually spend hundreds of dollars on a bouquet of flowers.

The world was never fair.

Camilla once again avoided the yellow roses Leopold offered and said calmly, "I have something to do."

With that, she walked straight towards Hestia and Royce.

Leopold stood there with the flowers, a bitter smile gradually forming on his lips.

After a long time, Camilla left, and the onlookers gradually dispersed. He finally came to his senses.

He walked to a trash can, loosened his grip, and the vibrant yellow roses fell into the dirt.

He turned and left.

Azalea hadn't left yet. Her curious and thoughtful gaze lingered on Leopold's back for a moment before she hugged her books and walked away.
