Chapter 59 Saving Himself for Camilla?

Leopold was thinking, 'Man, feeling needed and all tense is just the best. But Camilla? No, she couldn't give me that. Still, being with Amara, something felt off, but I couldn't figure out what.'

As he strolled along, he hit the seaside.

Suddenly, he stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes turning icy, and his face darkening.

Not too far off, there were Camilla and Marcus, chilling on a beach chair, laughing and sipping drinks.

Amara, fresh from her face mask and a quick dab of essence, was hustling to catch up. But those heels on the sand? Total struggle bus. She finally made it to Leopold.

"Hey babe, what's up?"

She followed his gaze. "Camilla and Marcus seem pretty tight, huh?" She grinned, all innocent-like, "They're even having drinks together."

Leopold's face was stone cold.

"From here, they look like a couple. Gotta admit, they do seem to click."

"Babe, don't you think it's kinda fishy? Both of them vacationing at Reefhaven Isles at the same time? Maybe they planned it? Or maybe it's just dumb luck, who knows."

She clung to his arm. "This sea breeze is killer, it's freezing."

Amara was rocking a spaghetti strap dress and totally forgot a shawl.

Yeah, it was pretty chilly.

But Leopold? No way he was giving up his jacket. He just stood there, so cold that Amara could feel it.

Amara's fingers clenched in jealousy.

But she kept that innocent look, "Babe, it's really cold, can we head back?"

Leopold pulled his hand away and started walking off.

Amara stood there, looking kinda lost, but quickly ran after him. "Babe, wait up."

Halfway back, she glanced at Camilla and mumbled, "She's a lucky survivor."

After a bit of a chase, she finally caught up to Leopold, and they headed back to their place.

Hearing the shower running, Amara checked herself out in the mirror, wearing that sexy little spaghetti strap dress that was hard to resist.

Leopold came out of the shower, in a silk robe, drying his hair with a towel.

He went to the wine cabinet to pour some red wine when suddenly, a pair of slender hands slipped inside his robe, touching his chest.

A warm body pressed against him, and Amara nuzzled his ear like a kitten.

Her moves were flirtatious, whispering, "Babe, since last time, you haven't slept with me. Don't you want me? I really like you, please don't push me away."

Leopold stayed silent for a long time. Just when Amara thought he was giving in and her hand moved to his pants' drawstring, he suddenly pushed her away, his voice cold, "I'm tired, not in the mood."

Amara, not ready to give up, tried to reach out again, but one look at Leopold's cold eyes, and she lost all her nerve, standing there stunned.

Leopold wasn't in the mood to deal with her and headed to another room.

Amara watched Leopold walk away, her chest heaving with anger, barely keeping her cool.

She thought after their last hookup, things would get more solid between them, but nope, Leopold had been keeping his distance.

She'd tried so hard to get his attention, but he was like a brick wall.

What the heck was his deal?

She thought, 'Is he saving himself for Camilla? How stupid!'

In the room.

Leopold turned off the lights, trying to sleep, but every time he closed his eyes, all he saw was Camilla and Marcus laughing and drinking by the sea.

He tossed and turned all night, barely catching any sleep.

Next morning.

With dark circles under his eyes, he headed to the restaurant for breakfast, Amara clinging to his arm, acting all cautious.

Across from him, stepping out of another elevator, was Marcus.

The tension between them was thick.

Just then, Camilla and Juniper walked in from another entrance, and Marcus greeted them with a smile, "Hey ladies, morning. How'd you sleep?"

His tone was all friendly and casual.

But Leopold could sense some serious scheming vibes!

Juniper nodded. "Not bad."

Camilla said, "Just a lot of mosquitoes, otherwise fine."

Marcus suggested, "Wanna have breakfast together?"

Juniper replied, "Sure."

The three of them walked in, totally ignoring Leopold.

With a dark look, he wanted to catch up, but Marcus suddenly said, "Oh, I forgot something. You go ahead, I'll join you in a bit."

Juniper waved it off. "Alright, see you."

Marcus turned back, not to grab something, but to walk up to Leopold.

"What do you want?" Leopold frowned.

"Come with me, I need to talk to you." Marcus said, heading towards the emergency stairs.

Leopold was annoyed but figured it was about Camilla, so he followed.

In the restaurant.

Juniper noticed Camilla's different attitude towards Marcus and nudged her, "I saw that. You usually ignore everyone except Leopold. What's up? Thinking about love again?"

Camilla replied, "What are you talking about? He helped me, I'm just grateful. Don't start rumors."

Seeing she was serious, Juniper shrugged. "Alright, seems like you're pretty firm in your thoughts."

Camilla chuckled and stuffed a piece of bread with salad dressing into her mouth. "Just eat."

In the hallway.

"About yesterday, I've got the company's legal team ready to sue the hotel. If all goes well, it should be sorted in two months."

Leopold was irritated. "What do you mean? Did you drag me here just to brag? Are you nuts?"

Marcus, used to Leopold's outbursts, subtly hinted, "Don't you think everything that happened yesterday was too coincidental?"

Leopold squinted. "What are you getting at?"

"You know what I mean."

Leopold frowned, "I've seen the footage. The timing of the shark was a coincidence, no sign of human interference. I know what you're hinting at, Marcus, but not everyone is as sneaky and two-faced as you."
