Chapter 83 She Actually Bought a Villa!

Mia handed over the docs she was clutching.

Camilla skimmed through them, nodded that they were the real deal, and then passed over her copies.

After the swap, Mia exhaled big time. "Sorry, this is my first time dealing with a villa sale, and I'm kinda clueless about the steps. Sorry for wasting your time."

"No worries."

Heather stood off to the side, catching every word but still feeling lost.

"What did you say this contract was for?" Heather pointed at the papers in Mia's hand.

"A purchase agreement."

"For who?"

"Obviously, it's for Ms. Learmond. She bought the house."

Heather almost toppled over. "You mean, she, Camilla? Bought a house here?"

"Yeah, duh." Mia looked confused, thinking, 'Who is this chick, and why is she asking such dumb questions?'

"No way!" Heather's eyes went wide, like she'd been hit by a truck. "Did she buy unit 19 or 20? Which floor? What type?"

"Ma'am, you got it wrong. Units 19 and 20 are just regular high-rise apartments. Ms. Learmond bought a villa."

What?!

"A villa!" Heather's voice almost cracked. "She bought a villa? In Stardust Enclave Villas? How is that even possible!"

She thought, 'No freaking way!'

Camilla sighed. "Heather, maybe I'm not all that. Almost thirty, jobless, the least I can do is get my parents a villa to show some love. I hope they enjoy it, so you don't have to stress about them. Right?"

Heather stayed quiet.

"We still gotta set up the new place, so we won't keep you from checking out the property." Bella smiled a bit.

Suddenly, a salesperson rushed over to Jared and Heather. "Hey, didn't you say you were heading to the restroom? How'd you end up here? This is the VIP lounge, nice choice."

Jared nudged the spaced-out Heather. Seeing no reaction, he apologized, "Sorry, we didn't know."

"Have you decided yet? Should the property be under Daniel White or Lucy Reed? Once you decide, have them come over, otherwise, you can't sign the purchase agreement."

The staff thought, 'Do they even know the basics? Wasting my whole morning.

'Mia already sold a villa, and I haven't closed a single deal!

'A villa, worth five million bucks! The commission alone is tens of thousands, so jealous.'

Camilla and Bella exchanged a look.

They thought, 'Daniel White?

'Lucy Reed?

'Aren't those Heather's parents' names?'

"So, it's for Heather's parents?" Bella smiled. "This place has a great vibe, perfect for their retirement."

"No way!" Heather snapped. "It's just their names on the deed; the house is for us!"

"Well then, put your names on it, or Patricia's name. It'd be easier."

"Exactly!" The salesperson, seeing a chance to close the deal, pushed, "Since you're the ones living there, put your own names on it!"

"I'm only helping you get a unit because of Patricia. Otherwise, it would've been snatched up by other buyers. If you wait until tomorrow or later, I can't promise it'll still be available. The units sell out fast. It's all about grabbing it."

"Don't!" Heather freaked. "We want to buy! For sure!"

"Alright, then we can sign the contract now."

Heather's eyes darted around. "Can we wait until tomorrow? I swear I'll come to buy it tomorrow!"

The salesperson's face went ice-cold. "Fine, we'll talk tomorrow. If someone else snags it, tough luck."

Heather clenched her jaw. "How about I make a quick call first, okay?"

"Go ahead."

Heather stepped out of the VIP area, found a quiet corner, and before dialing, she shot a glance back at Bella and Camilla to make sure they couldn't eavesdrop. Then she punched in the number.

"Hey, Dad, it's me. I'm at Stardust Enclave checking out a new place for you and Mom. Yeah, that super popular spot! It's hot right now! Jared and I have both seen it. The place is awesome and it's selling fast! Why don't you come over today to sign the contract? Just to be safe."

Heather's plan was slick.

Her current place was nice, but it couldn't hold a candle to Stardust Enclave.

Her folks wanted to move, so she figured she'd talk them into buying a high-rise unit here, then have them live in her current three-bedroom pad, while she and Jared moved into the new digs.

After all, Daniel and Lucy only had one kid—her. Eventually, the property would be hers anyway.

Sooner or later.

As for the name on the deed, it would be her parents', and after the full payment, it would get transferred to her name.

By then, they could go through the gift process, saving on taxes.

"Alright, it's settled then. Hurry and grab a cab over. Yeah, it's near Maplewood High School."

Camilla didn't give a hoot about who was buying the house, who'd live there, or whose name would be on the deed. Camilla and Bella couldn't care less.

They didn't even bother to watch Heather's little show to the end and left.

Because Alistair had already called, nagging, "Didn't you say it would be quick? It's been over an hour! Bella, let me tell you, the front and back yard designs are killer! I just took a stroll, and it feels like you could plant flowers, veggies, and even have a fruit garden."

Alistair's excited chatter made Bella impatient too. She hadn't even seen the new house yet!

"We got held up a bit, but we're heading over now."

After Daniel and Lucy signed the contract and swiped the card, Heather and Jared drove them back home before heading out.

In the car, Heather leaned back against the seat, exhaling deeply. "Finally done."

"Why are you so hyped about your parents buying a house? What's the rush? Dragging them all the way here, and it's already dark."

Heather rolled her eyes. "You don't get it. That place is in high demand. If you snooze, you lose!"

"As for why I'm so eager." Heather couldn't help but grin. "Let me ask you, do you want to live in that house?"

Jared's mouth twitched. "Who wouldn't want to live in a sweet pad? The question is, can we afford it?"

"Alright, as long as you want to live there, I do too."

Jared sensed the scheming in her tone. "What are you getting at?"

Heather shot back, "What do you think? My parents' house will eventually be mine, right? What's wrong with enjoying it a bit earlier? Besides, the place we're in now isn't bad either."

"You don't mean—" Jared gasped.

"I do! So what? What's the big deal? I'm their only daughter, after all."

"Your parents won't go for such an expensive place."

"Don't worry, I got this."

Heather thought, 'Yeah, even a high-rise unit is pricey, let alone a villa?

'Where did Camilla get that kind of cash?'
