Chapter 63 It's High Time Someone Shameless Dealt with Him

"I love you, just like you love Camilla. You can't have her, and I can't have you either. So, if you ask me what I want, I just want a shot to stay by your side."

Amara's voice was soft, her eyes sincere, with obvious humility.

Leopold felt touched. "Don't worry, I'll take good care of you from now on. I won't let you get hurt again."

Amara smiled, lying in his arms, hugging his waist tightly, her voice sweet as honey. "I know, I've always believed you."

Leopold tightened his embrace a bit more.

But there was an indescribable heaviness in his heart.

He didn't know why.

The hotel staff quickly came to deal with the accident at the event.

Since it involved personal safety, the person in charge called the cops directly.

That night, the police came to question all the relevant personnel.

As expected, they didn't find out anything and could only conclude the incident as an accident.

After all, in tropical areas, there was a primeval forest behind the hotel, and snakes were common.

"But venomous snakes aren't that common, right?" Juniper said coldly.

"And in the gift box, in a crowded place, that's even less common, right?"

The cops looked at each other.

The hotel manager was also at a loss for words.

Juniper sneered, "This is the second time. My friend's life was endangered twice on this island. Just wait, this isn't over! Camilla, let's go!"

With that, she pulled Camilla away.

"Alright, calm down, it's not worth it." After leaving the crowd, Camilla tried to console her.

"You almost got hurt, and you're still so calm?"

Camilla smiled faintly. "Winning or losing isn't about a momentary fight."

"What do you mean? Do you have a plan?"

Camilla shook her head. "No."

Juniper was speechless.

"With all these incidents happening one after another, Camilla, I'm really worried. What if there's another accident?"

Camilla said, "I do have a solution for that."

"What solution?" Juniper blinked.

"Guess."

Experiencing such a big scare, Camilla and Juniper hadn't eaten much and were now feeling hungry.

They immediately went to the restaurant for a hearty meal.

After eating, Juniper received a call and went off to a date, looking very pleased.

After leaving the restaurant, Camilla didn't return to her place but walked north along the coastline.

After about five minutes, a string of twinkling lights formed a line, and from a distance, she could smell a fragrance, a bit pungent like spicy sauce?

Following the scent, Camilla arrived at a shop.

Camilla pushed the door open, thinking it was a restaurant, but found it was an antique shop.

The shop owner was making spicy sauce, no wonder it smelled so good.

The shop was small. Shelves lined the walls, with antiques near the door and other quirky items elsewhere.

Suddenly, a small sculpture, a bit serious yet somewhat cute, caught Camilla's attention.

It was less than a palm's size but very detailed, with lifelike folds on the shirt and gold-rimmed glasses on the nose.

The owner immediately recognized Camilla as someone from Sinoland and warmly said, "You got a good eye. These sculptures are all handmade by me. They make great gifts to take back home."

Camilla smiled and, after asking the price, said, "Alright, wrap it up for me."

"Sure thing!" The owner packed it up and added a postcard to the bag.

"If there's something you want to say but can't, just write it on this."

Camilla pursed her lips, thinking it unnecessary as she had nothing unsaid, but since it was a gift, it would be rude to refuse.

Back at her place, after a shower, Camilla saw the gift bag on the table. She walked over and pulled out the postcard.

It featured the most beautiful seascape of Reefhaven Isles. She casually tossed it on the table.

She wouldn't need it anyway.

The next morning.

Marcus arrived at the restaurant right on time, but after looking around, he didn't see Camilla, only Juniper having breakfast alone.

One cup, one salad on the table.

"Morning, Marcus!" Juniper greeted with a smile, "I saw you circling around, looking at me. Wanna have breakfast with me?"

Marcus raised an eyebrow and pulled out a chair to sit across from her.

"Morning, Juniper."

"Morning."

Marcus glanced at her cup. "This milk any good?"

Juniper took a sip. "You got something to say?"

Marcus got straight to the point. "Where's Camilla? I didn't see her."

"Need something from her?"

"Can't I look for her without a reason?"

Juniper laughed. "Are all you finance guys this free at the end of the year?"

She wasn't blind. From the moment Marcus arrived on the island, she sensed something was off.

Sure enough, in the following days, Marcus kept trying to chat up Camilla, being overly attentive.

Marcus replied, "No, very busy."

"Then how do you have time for a vacation?"

"Because there's someone here I want to see."

With the conversation at this point, there was no need to beat around the bush. Juniper put down her fork, straightened up, and said, "What's your intention with Camilla? If I remember correctly, you're good friends with Leopold, right?"

Marcus said, "I'm pursuing her. Too many intentions to explain."

Juniper was silent.

"As for Leopold and me, we've fallen out."

Juniper replied, "I can see that. Because of Camilla?"

Marcus was silent, which was almost an admission.

Juniper couldn't help but laugh. "Serves him right! Leopold, that jerk, has long needed someone shameless to deal with him!"

Marcus was helpless.

After laughing, Juniper finished her milk, wiped her mouth, and said, "Alright, I get it. Then I wish you success in your pursuit."

"Thanks for the good wishes." Marcus nodded slightly.

"Take your time, I'm leaving."

"Wait, you haven't told me where Camilla is."

Juniper checked her watch. "At this time, she should be boarding the plane, right?"

Marcus was puzzled.

Actually, Juniper hadn't expected Camilla's "solution" to be returning to Imperial City!
