Chapter 203 Wipe It, Don't Be Petty
As soon as the words left her mouth, Camilla regretted it.
However, the words were already spoken.
Marcus said, "You."
Camilla looked up at the ceiling.
Marcus's mouth twitched. "Don't pretend, I know you understand."
"What did you say? I can't hear you! Don't say it again."
Seeing her play dumb, Marcus couldn't help but laugh. "You can use that excuse once or twice, but eventually..."
"Oh," Camilla interrupted, "I forgot to bring tissues. Do you have any?"
"Yes."
"Can I borrow one? Thanks."
Marcus smirked. "Can you hear me now?"
Camilla was speechless.
She guessed right; Marcus did have something to discuss with her.
But it wasn't until they were almost done with their coffee that he got to the point.
"Professor Young has an ongoing project that's hit a bottleneck. It's been two months without progress. He wants to know your thoughts. Here are all the materials."
As he spoke, he handed over a USB drive.
Camilla reached out to take it, but Marcus didn't let go immediately, causing their fingers to touch.
Marcus's body temperature was noticeably higher than hers, making the touch feel different.
Camilla took the USB drive and quickly withdrew her hand.
Marcus's expression didn't change, but his smile grew more mischievous.
He did it on purpose!
He definitely did it on purpose!
Camilla's eyes widened, and at that moment, he handed her a tissue.
"Here, wipe it. Don't be petty."
Camilla was angry, but her anger dissipated quickly.
Since Marcus had said that, if she kept holding onto it, she'd seem petty.
After all, bumping into someone on the street was common. Why hold a grudge against Marcus?
Wouldn't that prove she didn't see him as just an ordinary person?
It was a paradox, either way, a trap from every angle!
Leaving the coffee shop, Marcus walked her downstairs.
As they parted, Camilla suddenly said, "You're too good at guessing. It's better if we interact less in the future!"
He wasn't angry, just smiled. "You're scared."
"Scared of what?" Camilla frowned.
"Scared of being moved by me, of unknowingly falling for me." At that moment, Marcus looked like a proud and confident peacock.
Camilla almost choked, "I'm scared, but scared of being tricked by you, falling into a trap!"
"Well, it's almost the same thing."
Camilla thought, 'How is it the same? It's clearly very different!'
"Forget it, I won't argue with you. I can't win anyway." With that, she turned and went upstairs.
Marcus stood there, watching her leave. Only when he saw Camilla's figure disappear around the corner did he look away.
Then, he waited until her window lit up before leaving.
Camilla finished washing up, took out the USB drive, and plugged it into her computer.
While waiting for it to load, she suddenly realized.
Felix went to school every day. Wouldn't it be more convenient to give it to her directly at school?
Why did Marcus have to deliver it personally at night?
She was tricked again!
Meanwhile, Marcus was driving home when he received a call from Felix.
"Professor Young, what's up?"
"Where's my USB drive? Did you see it when you came to my house today? I remember putting it in the drawer."
"Oh, I took it."
"Why did you take it? It's full of project materials! I was planning to give it to Camilla tomorrow."
"I already had it delivered to her."
"What?" Felix was a bit confused.
"Who delivered it? When? Did you tell me?"
"I happened to be at school today. In the afternoon, I heard you say the USB drive was for Camilla, so I took it to her."
"I see. Why didn't you tell me? I looked for it for a long time."
Marcus thought to himself, 'It would be hard to explain if I told you in advance. A fait accompli was the right move.'
But he said, "It was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I forgot to tell you."
"Alright, as long as she has it."
"Yes." Ending the call, Marcus happily whistled as he drove.
In the study, Sebastian was compiling a set of experimental data.
But he couldn't concentrate.
His mind kept replaying the scene he saw two hours ago from the balcony.
Marcus and Camilla walked side by side from the alley.
Marcus was saying something, Camilla frowned, then rolled her eyes, and finally ran off.
Marcus stood there, watching her like she was a mischievous child, helpless yet doting.
Under the streetlight, their shadows stretched long.
Some even overlapped, looking like a close couple.
So, the person she had an appointment with was Marcus?
Sebastian snapped back to reality, looked at the computer screen, and got confused again.
Which column did he start from?
Which row was he on?
In the end, he had to start over.
At 3 AM, the study light was still on.
Sebastian closed his notebook in frustration, still unable to sort things out.
He thought, 'Forget it, I'll deal with it tomorrow.'
He washed his face, lay down, but tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
When he finally fell asleep, it was restless, filled with chaotic and absurd dreams.
Sebastian couldn't see the specific scene clearly, only a hazy view as if covered by a thin veil.
A slender figure approached him.
Feeling hot, he loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt, his throat moving involuntarily.
But it wasn't enough; his body felt like it was being scorched, a thirst from within.
Uncomfortable, tormented, and a vague longing.
He instinctively moved closer to the figure, gently holding the woman's soft hand, moving to her arm, then caressing her slender neck.
The woman's smooth skin felt like a refreshing spring, making him want to drink more.
With a careful longing, he finally kissed her lips, hearing her let out a soft moan.
That sound seemed magical, easily drawing out his hidden desires, making the fire inside him burn even hotter.
The woman turned her head, and Sebastian finally saw her face.
It was Camilla.
The next morning, Sebastian looked at his wet pants, overwhelmed with frustration, shame, and regret.
Thinking of the chaotic and erotic scenes in his dream, he felt utterly embarrassed.
How could he have such a dream?
How could he?
He thought, 'Sebastian, what on earth are you thinking!'
Sebastian's frustration was unknown to Camilla.
She had a good night's sleep and woke up refreshed, ready for school.
She had classes all morning.
After lunch, she, Royce, and Hestia went to the lab.
Aurora happened to be there too.
Camilla walked over to her. "Professor Garcia, can we talk?"
Aurora was taken aback. "Sure."
