Chapter 199 Sebastian Might Have a Girlfriend

After Camilla met up with the two, they went to the restaurant together.

At noon, it wasn't too crowded.

Hestia held back all the way, and during the wait for the food, she asked, "Camilla, do you know that handsome guy who sent the flowers? That big bouquet of yellow roses was quite beautiful, and he has good taste."

Camilla nodded, her tone calm, "Yes. He's my ex-boyfriend."

"What?"

Hestia didn't expect that answer and immediately fell silent, not daring to say more.

But Royce gave her an extra glance.

After eating, they went to Aurora's office.

There were no classes in the afternoon, and Aurora planned to take them to the lab.

Hestia exclaimed, "So soon!"

She thought it would take at least a year of study before getting into experimental projects, but unexpectedly, they were getting hands-on right away!

Royce wasn't as surprised, but he was still a bit taken aback.

Only Camilla knew how long Aurora's project had been delayed and how urgently she hoped for a breakthrough now.

When they came out, it was already dark.

Camilla got home at nine o'clock. She hadn't had dinner yet and was so tired from the day's work that she didn't want to move. She collapsed on the sofa, her eyelids heavy.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Camilla forced herself to get up and open the door, "Sebastian?"

"I heard from Felix when I was coming back from school that Aurora took you guys to the lab?"

"Yes."

"Just got back?"

"Yeah."

"Haven't had dinner yet?"

"No!"

Sebastian chuckled, "Wait for me a moment."

He turned and went back to his place, quickly returning with a lunchbox.

"It's still warm, make do with it."

He handed it over with a smile.

Camilla blinked, "Did you make this?"

It didn't look like takeout, but if it was homemade, there was no need to use a lunchbox.

"My family brought it over."

"No, no, I can't take it. You keep it for yourself."

Sebastian said, "I've already eaten. This is an extra portion."

"Oh, I see." Camilla was tempted.

She was so tired today that she didn't want takeout, nor did she want to cook.

Sebastian was simply a lifesaver.

"Alright then, thank you! I'll wash the lunchbox and return it to you after I finish."

"Okay."

Camilla took the lunchbox inside, opened the lid, and a puff of steam rose. It was indeed still warm.

The Russell family mansion was brightly lit at this time.

Paloma sat down for a moment, then stood up and started pacing in the living room. After a few steps, she sat down again, then stood up once more.

Back and forth, repeatedly.

Cedric was getting a headache from her pacing, "It's late at night, why aren't you sleeping and pacing around here? Are you stepping on ants?"

Paloma retorted, "It's because of your son!"

Cedric was slightly surprised, "Which son are you talking about?"

"Of course Sebastian!"

"Sebastian?" Cedric was even more surprised. Sebastian had been independent since childhood, rarely causing any worry. As an adult, he was even more disciplined than Cedric.

Cedric's friends often complained about their children, calling them ungrateful or irresponsible, but Cedric never had that problem.

His eldest son took over the family business, his second son was a top lawyer, and his youngest son was focused on research.

"Did something happen when you visited Sebastian this afternoon?"

Paloma frowned and said slowly, "He's acting strange."

"What's strange about him?"

"When I brought him food today, he actually asked for two portions! Two portions, can you believe it?"

Cedric didn't quite understand, "What's wrong with two portions?"

"My intuition tells me that Sebastian might have a girlfriend!"

Cedric thought it was no big deal, "It's just an extra portion of food. What's the big deal? Maybe he plans to eat two meals, or maybe he's bringing it for a friend. You're overthinking it."

He poured himself a cup of tea, savoring it leisurely, in stark contrast to Paloma's anxious state.

"You know Sebastian's personality. Besides experiments and data, it's hard to get him to come home for a meal, let alone have time for a relationship. Besides, Sebastian is at an age where having a girlfriend is a good thing, isn't it? You used to talk about introducing him to girls from various families. Now that it might be happening, what's there to worry about?"

Cederic thought, 'Kids grow up and become independent. You can't control them forever. Besides, even if you want to, you couldn't.'

Paloma knew this made sense.

But the thought of Sebastian having a girlfriend from nowhere made her feel complicated.

"I'm going to bed!"

Cedric said, "Hey? Aren't you going to keep stepping on ants?"

Paloma replied, "Early to bed, early to rise."

Tomorrow, she would go to Sebastian's rented place to see what was going on!

In September, the sun rose early.

Camilla woke up to the sunlight piercing through the curtains before her alarm went off.

She sat up, yawned, and started her morning routine.

Breakfast was porridge she had set to cook the night before. It was ready and could be eaten right away.

After eating, she cleaned up the kitchen, and seeing that it was about time, she headed out to school.

As she passed the fourth floor, she suddenly heard a scream from below. Looking through the railing, she saw a woman in high heels and a long dress tripping over a pile of trash.

The two families on the third floor liked to leave their trash in the hallway, waiting for the cleaners to pick it up. Sometimes, it would take up most of the staircase.

It was dirty and smelly.

The lady must have tripped because her heels were too high and she wasn't familiar with the environment.

"Are you okay?" Camilla helped her up.

"Thank you!" Paloma said, turning to see Camilla's face.

Why did she look familiar?

She quickly remembered that Camilla was the tea artist from the tea tasting event.

Paloma still remembered how Camilla had publicly criticized her tea-making skills, causing others to snicker in the corners.

Paloma prided herself on not being petty or unable to take criticism, but she just didn't like this girl for some reason.

Maybe she was too eye-catching.

Or maybe she had an unusual relationship with Cynthia.

Or perhaps her looks just didn't sit well with Paloma.

In any case, everything about her felt wrong.

Clearly, Camilla also remembered who she was and responded indifferently, "You're welcome."

Then she let go and stepped back to create some distance.

Paloma frowned at her move.

She didn't want to engage with her initially, but she couldn't help asking, "What are you doing here?"

Camilla replied calmly, "I live here."
