Chapter 61 She Is the Rose I Nurtured

Leopold was totally wiped out. Dude closed his eyes and zonked out, not giving a damn about anything around him.

"Whoa!" A handsome guy suddenly shouted, "So damn beautiful!"

Amara followed his gaze and saw Camilla strutting out of a beach hut in a black two-piece skirted bikini.

A white scarf was casually draped around her neck, fluttering in the sea breeze like some movie scene.

"Oh my God! She's stunning!"

Amara shot the guy a cold look. "You think she's hot?"

The handsome guy nodded like a bobblehead. "Totally hot!"

Amara clenched her teeth. "What about me? Am I hot?"

"Of course, you're super pretty," the guy said without missing a beat.

Amara pressed on, "How do I stack up against her?"

"Oh man, that's a tough one," he stammered. "But if I had to choose, I'd say that lady's a bit more beautiful."

Amara's face darkened like a storm cloud.

Truth be told, Amara had a killer figure, with wavy hair cascading down her back, making her look super alluring.

Camilla, on the other hand, was rocking a more conservative two-piece skirted bikini, with the skirt even covering her thighs. The low-key black color made her stand out in a sea of colorful bikinis.

But what really got under Amara's skin was yet to come. Leopold, who had been snoozing, suddenly sensed something and sat up like a shot.

The moment his eyes landed on Camilla, a whirlwind of emotions—shock, awe, admiration, regret—flashed across his face.

Amara's face twisted with jealousy.

She thought, 'She's just a leech Leopold's been pampering for years, living the good life to get that body. Now she's acting all elegant and classy.

'She's just a gold digger!

'Pretending to hit the library and study for exams, probably broke after leaving Leopold and looking for another sugar daddy.

'So arrogant. She's just playing the same game I used to!'"Baby, if I got roses from other guys, would you be jealous?" Amara snuggled up to him, resting her head on his shoulder.

She subtly blocked his view of Camilla.

Leopold pushed her away, annoyed. "It's hot, don't cling to me."

"Want me to grab you a drink?"

"Sure," Leopold nodded.

As soon as Amara left, he immediately turned back to Camilla.

"You actually changed the one I picked for you," Juniper sneered, looking her up and down. "Black is too basic, and with a white scarf? You might as well wear a one-piece."

Camilla coughed lightly. "This is fine, I feel comfortable."

"Alright, but don't cry later if you don't get any roses."

Camilla quickly waved her hand. "I don't want any."

But, as luck would have it, what she dreaded most often came true.

As the sun set, the highlight of Bikini Day, the "flower-giving" segment, kicked off.

Almost half the guys there handed their roses to Camilla.

At first, Camilla tried to refuse, waving her hand. But soon, guy after guy offered roses, and the crowd started to cheer. Since this was a set part of the event, she couldn't just bail, so she had no choice but to accept them.

So, she kept getting more and more roses.

Juniper was scratching her head; this was not what she had in mind.

Camilla thought, 'Oh crap! This isn't what I expected either!'

Leopold in the crowd was just as stunned.

Amara glared at the few roses in her hand, her eyes practically shooting daggers.

She thought, 'Are these guys blind?

'Camilla isn't even rocking the black bikini anymore; she switched to a one-piece halfway through, and it's hideous!'

Yet, it was this Camilla that had Leopold spellbound.

Camilla wore a wide-brimmed woven hat with a light-colored ribbon tied into a bow. It was the simplest style, but on her, it looked elegant and classy.

As soon as Camilla showed up, she grabbed every guy's attention.

But Camilla seemed clueless, just chatting with Juniper, and her occasional smile made it even harder for people to look away.

"Are you pissed?" Marcus suddenly appeared beside Leopold, noticing his eyes red with anger, and smirked, casting his gaze into the distance. "Camilla was never yours to keep."

Leopold clenched his fists and stayed silent.

"Camilla is more dazzling than you think, so you can't hide her."

Marcus withdrew his gaze full of admiration and affection, turned his head, and smirked. "Regret losing your rose? But she no longer belongs to you."

Marcus suddenly noticed something coming at him. He squinted at the fist very close to his face. "Not every time will you have a chance to make amends."

Leopold sneered, "You're right, but did you forget that Camilla is the rose I nurtured?

"I watched Camilla become who she is today, step by step. Her beauty, her life, everything about her includes me. We've been together for six years. Do you know what she likes and hates the most?"

Leopold looked at him mockingly. "Camilla is mine. We've always been inseparable. What you think is just your fantasy. Our bond is far deeper than you imagine."

For the first time, Marcus put away his disdain and looked at him coldly.

He knew Leopold was right. Over the past six years, Camilla had countless opportunities to leave, but without exception, she always chose to return to Leopold.

Even if he didn't want to admit it, Marcus could see that Camilla's feelings for Leopold were far deeper than he had thought.

Amara watched the two men confront each other over Camilla, gritting her teeth in jealousy.

She thought, 'Why?

'Why do men only have eyes for Camilla?

'What do I lack compared to her?'

In the end, Camilla received the most roses in the entire event.

All eyes were on her, as if wherever she was, that was the center of attention.

Juniper waved and shouted excitedly from the audience, not forgetting to pick up the camera and take a flurry of photos of her.

The event host was a blonde girl with tanned skin, smiling brightly. "Congratulations to this beautiful lady for becoming today's most popular Rose Goddess. Please open the mystery prize~"

As soon as she finished speaking, someone handed over a box from behind.

The box was small and very delicate, making one wonder if it contained some exquisite jewelry.

Camilla reached out to take it. "Open it now?"

"Of course, let's all witness it together! Three, two, one!"

During the countdown, Camilla untied the ribbon, and suddenly!
