Chapter 170 The Commotion Begins

"Where are the security guards?! Stop them quickly!"

In the chaos, Clio decided to drop the act and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Where's Elodie? Who is Elodie? I'm looking for Elodie, tell her to get out here!"

Clio and her son Travis Scott had arrived in the Imperial City two days ago. They immediately went to see Amara, who was still in the hospital, and then stayed in her hospital room.

Back then, Clio said, "Why stay in a hotel? Hotels cost money, don't they? I think this hospital room is just fine—it's big, bright, and most importantly, free!"

"But there's only one bed. How will you and Travis sleep?"

"Not a big deal. We don't mind."

Travis, having just finished lunch, nodded while picking his teeth. "Exactly! Mom and I often sleep together at home. We only need to run one air conditioner, saves money."

Unable to persuade them otherwise, Clio and Travis stayed in the hospital room.

According to hospital regulations, VIP rooms had a companion bed, so family members could indeed stay overnight. The hospital didn't say anything about it.

After all, the money was already paid.

Amara could stay as long as she wanted, let alone having a companion bed.

After two days, Clio had gotten used to the smell of disinfectant and hadn't seen a single person from the Wipere family come to visit.

"Do they think avoiding us will make this go away? No way!"

"Mom, what are you planning to do?" Travis asked eagerly, ready for action.

"If they won't come to see us, fine, we'll go see them!"

That morning, Amara saw photos of Elodie at a party on social media and recognized the background as a hotel suite Elodie had taken her to once before.

She immediately gave Clio the hotel's address.

Clio and Travis wasted no time and went straight there.

Elodie had been standing at a distance, watching the commotion, and thought she misheard when she heard her name.

But when the woman shouted a second time, she heard it clearly—it was indeed her name.

Elodie's heart sank.

Seeing that the front desk was struggling to hold back the shrew, Elodie instinctively turned to go back to the suite.

At that moment, a waiter carrying a tray walked by and called out from a distance, "Mrs. Wipere! Your water is here. Mrs. Wipere?"

Seeing that Elodie didn't respond, he raised his voice.

Mrs. Wipere?

Clio was stunned.

She thought, 'Isn't the man who got Amara pregnant named Leopold Wipere?'

Her eyes darted, and she suddenly called out to the figure, "Leopold, why are you here?"

Sure enough, when Elodie heard her son's name, she immediately turned around.

"Gotcha, it is you!" Clio had been waiting for this!

She pushed past the staff in front of her and charged at Elodie, grabbing her hair. "You wretched woman can't escape me."

Elodie had never seen such a scene before.

She was stunned.

Clio said, "My daughter is lying in the hospital, half-dead, and you're here enjoying yourself in a fancy hotel? Dressed all fancy, but you're really just a bitch!"

Clio spat sputum on her.

Elodie was shocked!

Clio continued, "My daughter had a miscarriage and is in the hospital. Not only did you not show any concern, but you didn't even visit her. How can you live with yourself? I've never seen such a shameless old bitch like you. When my daughter was pregnant, you were all over her. Now that the baby is gone, you turn your back on her!"

The commotion outside quickly attracted the attention of the wealthy women in the suite.

They saw Elodie with her hair disheveled, being grabbed and cursed at by another woman.

The wealthy women exchanged quick glances.

Seeing the crowd, Clio became even more energized. "Everyone, look at this woman. Her son toyed with my daughter, got her pregnant, and then refused to take responsibility! My daughter was a pure and innocent girl, and her life is ruined! And she dares to avoid me? Does she think my daughter has no family?"

Clio rolled up her sleeves as she spoke. "Everyone, take out your phones and record this. Post it online and let the public judge. Let's see how shameless the Wipere family is, what kind of person Elodie is, and how irresponsible her son is!"

Travis blocked the hotel staff while taking out his phone to record Elodie's face.

He cursed while filming, "Serves you right! The Wipere family doesn't act like decent people. You got my sister pregnant and won't take responsibility! If we can't have peace, neither can you!"

Elodie, realizing what was happening, frantically covered her face while trying to dodge Clio's grasp, looking as pathetic as possible.

"Stop filming! Your daughter didn't want peace herself. What does that have to do with my son? I've been good enough to her. She caused the problem herself and lost the baby. Let go! If you keep causing trouble, I'll call the police!"

Hearing this, Clio didn't back down. She put her hands on her hips and sneered. "Call them! Let the police judge and help us get justice! I'm just a country woman. I don't care about losing face. I wonder if you high-society folks do."

Elodie stiffened.

Clio's words hit her weak spot.

"I'm telling you, if you don't compensate us today, you won't leave! Travis, grab her!"

"You! You wouldn't dare!"

Travis put away his phone and smirked. "Watch me!"

"Get away! Don't touch me!" Elodie screamed.

In the end, it was the driver and security guards who arrived in time to pull Elodie away from Travis and escort her to the car.

Travis said, "Mom, she got away. What now?"

Clio squinted her eyes and chuckled. "She won't get far. Let's go back."

"The hospital smells awful. Can we stay somewhere else?" Travis complained, feeling like he reeked of disinfectant.

"It costs money, doesn't it? Bear with it for now. Once we get the compensation, you can stay in a five-star hotel if you want!"

"True," Travis grinned, showing his pearly whites. "My sister sure knows how to pick 'em."

That woman looked like she came from a wealthy family.

A project in the South had run into issues, and Leopold had been on a business trip for a week.

During that time, he only answered work calls and set his personal phone to Do Not Disturb.

No one could reach him.

It wasn't until the company had too many pending issues that required his signature that he finally returned.

When the plane landed, Leopold took out his phone and turned off Do Not Disturb mode.

Within two minutes, Elodie's call came through.

"Hello, Mom!"
