Chapter 213 Camilla? Are you there?

However, when the two looked over, they found that Camilla was nowhere to be seen.

Simon shrugged, "If I didn't say that, would you guys stop?"

Leopold and Marcus fell silent.

"We're all adults here. Can we stop solving problems in such childish ways?"

Marcus said, "He got angry and started it first."

Leopold retorted, "That's because he deserved it!"

"Alright, both of you calm down. If Camilla really shows up, neither of you will get anything good out of it."

Marcus tightened his lips.

Leopold remained silent.

Oliver rolled his eyes., "Let's go to the hospital first and get those wounds treated."

"No need," Leopold said coldly, looking at Marcus, "I'll say it again, you won't win her over, so give up early."

"Really?" Marcus smirked, "We'll see about that. Whether I succeed or not is still up in the air, but you're already out of the game."

Leopold's eyes reddened, and he was about to make a move when Oliver quickly stopped him.

Marcus threw out a parting shot, "Loser."

Then he opened the car door and drove off.

Leopold yanked Oliver's hand away, "Let go! He's already gone!"

Oliver sighed. "Why do you even bother?"

Leopold, eyes red, turned to him, "You should ask Marcus that question!"

They used to be good friends, so why does he have to fixate on Camilla?

With that, he also got in his car and left.

Leaving Oliver and Simon staring at each other.

Oliver spoke up, "I feel really bad about this."

Simon said, "If they are going crazy, there's nothing we can do about it."

Oliver asked, "Why do you think Marcus has to go after Camilla?"

Simon paused for a moment.

Thinking of something, Simon somehow said, "Sometimes liking someone doesn't need a reason."

Oliver was puzzled; Simon never used to say things like that!

Simon used to say, "There are plenty of women, I could have a different one every day!"

In the morning, sunlight spread across the land, waking everything from its slumber.

Blue skies, white clouds, and the sound of cicadas.

In the lab, sunlight streamed through the windows as Hector woke up.

He sat up, took a moment to gather himself, and then walked out of the break room. "Whoa! Sebastian, did you get up early, or did you not sleep at all?"

At the lab bench, Sebastian was focused on his work. He didn't look up or respond.

Having finished, he took off his protective gear and gloves, and stepped away from the bench. "Got up early."

"What time?"

"Five-thirty."

Hector swallowed, "You're really pushing it. I need to go home today; I can't keep this up. I'll come back tonight. By the way, can I borrow your charger? My phone's dead."

"In the cabinet, help yourself."

"Why don't you just leave it on the bench after you're done? Isn't it a hassle to put it back in the cabinet every time?"

Not a hassle at all.

Because Sebastian hadn't used the charger these past few days. To be precise, he hadn't used his phone.

After putting it on silent, he had tossed it in the cabinet.

Hector grabbed the charger and returned. "By the way, you have missed calls. I brought your phone over too."

"Thanks." Sebastian reached out to take it.

Then he froze.

Camilla had called him?

And twice, no less.

He immediately opened WhatsApp, and sure enough, there were messages from her: [Hey Sebastian, I have something I want to ask your opinion on. Are you available?]

Sent five days ago.

He hadn't seen it!

Sebastian quickly started typing a reply.

After a moment's thought, he decided against it. Better to go see her in person. It was Sunday, so she should be home.

"Hector, I'm leaving. There are three sets of data about to come out; keep an eye on them."

With that, he was about to leave.

"I just said I need to go home today! How can you leave? Did I agree to this? I told you to go home and rest yesterday, and you didn't. Now you're fighting me for it today?! Sebastian, something is wrong with you!"

However, when he got home and knocked on the door next door, there was no response. "Camilla? Are you there?"

No answer.

Sebastian sighed, turned back to his place, sat down, picked up his phone, and typed out a message: [Sorry, I've been in the lab and didn't check my phone.]

[Is there still something I can help with?]

After waiting for half an hour with no reply, Sebastian couldn't help but wonder if she had felt the same way—going from hopeful to disappointed—when she sent him the message.

Camilla couldn't reply because she was busy cleaning and setting up her newly assigned lab.

When Royce submitted the application, he specifically asked the administration office for the largest, most secluded lab available.

The staff confirmed multiple times, worried that Royce was making a rash decision.

Because this lab had been vacant for a long time, almost no research groups used it.

First, it was too large; second, it lacked equipment; and third, it was too far from the main teaching buildings.

Royce said, "We'll take this one."

The large space meant they could set up a separate area for naps.

They could buy the equipment they needed.

And though it was far from the teaching buildings, it was close to the cafeteria, which made Hestia happy.

The only downside for the three of them was that it was a pain to clean!

After a whole morning of work, they had barely managed to arrange the lab benches, cabinets, coffee table, and water dispenser.

Next up was the general cleaning.

Hestia said, "I'm so tired. Why doesn't the school allow us to hire a cleaning service?"

Royce said, "It wouldn't look good."

"What's wrong with it?"

"It doesn't reflect well on the spirit of college students."

The three decided to grab lunch and continue in the afternoon.

Just as they reached the cafeteria, Camilla saw Sebastian approaching. She hesitated about whether to greet him, but he was already in front of her, slightly out of breath as if he had run over. "Camilla, what did you need?"

Camilla didn't realize why he said it.

Hestia and Royce exchanged glances.

Sebastian added, "Sorry, I've been in the lab and didn't check my phone, so I couldn't reply to your message in time."

Camilla realized she had indeed sent Sebastian a message, but he hadn't replied, which she had assumed meant he was busy.

She had eventually forgotten about it.

"It was something, but it's already been resolved."

Marcus had messaged her early that morning, saying the CPRT was on its way and should arrive tomorrow.

"Why did you have to pay out of pocket? What happened?"

Sebastian's question didn't need Camilla to answer; Hestia quickly filled him in.

After learning the situation, Sebastian asked, "Calliope?"

"Yes! Her! And the school is helping her against us!" Hestia said through gritted teeth.
