Chapter 261 Who Has Bewitched Her So Completely
Camilla was very confused, but Sebastian didn't respond to her message.
After making all the crab rolls, Camilla picked out 10, put them in a ziplock bag, and planned to take them to Sebastian.
But after knocking for half a minute, the door still didn't open. Then she took out her phone and typed: [Are you home?]
This time, Sebastian replied quickly: [I'm at the lab]
Camilla texted: [I made crab rolls and packed ten for you. Can you come get them when you get back tonight?]
Sebastian wanted to decline, but halfway through typing, he realized it would be rude and make him seem guilty. So he replied: [Okay.]
Camilla put away her phone and went home.
After tidying up the kitchen, she had just sat down and hadn't even had a chance to drink water when Juniper called.
"Where are my crab rolls? Are they ready?"
"I made dozens today, enough for you. You snack monster!"
Juniper stepped out of the company elevator, her high heels clicking, wishing she could get there in an instant.
After working overtime for a week, the project was finally completed today! She didn't want to stay at the company for even a second longer.
"You're so annoying! Wait for me, I'll be there soon." Juniper said in a deliberately coquettish voice.
After ending the call, she put away her phone and suddenly stopped in her tracks. She saw Simon standing not far away, hands in his pockets, with a dark expression.
"What are you doing here?" Juniper raised an eyebrow and walked up to him.
As the distance between them closed, Simon's face was even darker than she had imagined.
"Am I interrupting your flirting?" Simon snorted and mockingly imitated what she had just said.
Juniper's mouth twitched. "Are you out of your mind?"
"Aren't you in a hurry? After all, someone is waiting for you, right? Go ahead, I'll make way for you. By the way, you should take off your high heels; you'll walk faster barefoot."
Simon said casually, "I drove here. Want a ride? Don't worry, it's free."
"Weren't you going to make way? Move aside and don't waste my time!"
Her crab rolls were getting cold!
"Well, I won't move!" He deliberately stepped closer.
Juniper pushed him aside. "I advise you not to mess with me, or else..."
"Or else what?"
"I'll kick your balls off!"
Simon's legs clamped together, his eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you even a woman? How can you say something like that!"
"Is there anything I can't say? Does it matter if I'm a man or a woman?"
He was speechless.
Juniper was already very impatient. "Move aside; I have something urgent!"
"Rushing off to see your lover?"
"What's wrong with you today? Why are you being so persistent? Are you done yet?"
"I've sent you so many messages these past few days, why didn't you reply? You didn't even answer my calls! And you still have the nerve to be so righteous! I've never had a partner as irresponsible as you."
Hearing this, Juniper was even more speechless.
"You call those messages? 'What are you doing?' 'Have you eaten?' 'Are you asleep?' Or you suddenly send a random emoji, and it's always some nonsensical one. How am I supposed to reply? Please, I've been very busy, working overtime for a week. I don't have time to chat with you. I need to eat and rest!"
Simon spoke up immediately, "I'll treat you to dinner!"
"No need; someone else is treating me. You can wait for another time."
With that, she was about to walk past him.
Simon caught up. "Then I'll give you a ride?"
Juniper paused. "Are you serious?"
"Yes!"
"Alright, drive fast."
To save time and catch some sleep on the way to and from work, Juniper hadn't driven herself this week.
Simon eagerly opened the passenger door for her, but Juniper said, "I'll sit in the back. It's more comfortable to lie down."
"Alright." In the car, Simon sighed heavily while steering.
Was there a better boyfriend in the world than him? Waiting an hour to pick up his girlfriend from work, then drove her to meet another man. But if he didn't drive her, Juniper would have been long gone. Besides, Simon wanted to see who had Juniper so smitten that she couldn't wait to meet him right after finishing overtime!
Juniper lay down in the back seat. "What's with the sudden sigh?"
"Did I sigh?"
"Yes, just now."
"You said you've been working overtime for a week?"
"Yeah." Juniper grabbed a pillow and placed it under her neck, making herself much more comfortable.
"You're so busy, but you still have time to play tennis?" Simon started mocking again.
Juniper raised an eyebrow. "Did Oliver tell you? And you have the nerve to talk. The few people you hang out with, Oliver, Leopold, are they all a bit crazy?"
Simon was puzzled.
Juniper explained, "I hired a private coach to correct my serve, and Oliver rushed up and punched the coach without a word, almost breaking his nose. I had to pay $20,000 in compensation."
"Private coach?"
"What else?"
"Oh, nothing." Simon's mouth involuntarily curved into a smile.
Juniper was speechless.
Simon asked, "You haven't told me the address. Which direction should I drive?"
"To Camilla's house. You know the way, right?"
"Camilla? You're going to see her!"
"Who else? Simon, why do you have so many questions?"
"I'll try to keep quiet," Simon's smile was so wide that it nearly reached the back of his ears, "Juniper, you've been working overtime for so many days, you must be exhausted. I'll book a home spa for you, using my mom's card. They'll come to your place."
Juniper stared at the back of Simon's head, her eyes flickering.
After a while, she cautiously asked, "Did you just get out of a mental hospital?"
Simon was at a loss for words.
When they arrived at Camilla's building, Juniper happily ran upstairs.
As soon as the door opened, the aroma almost knocked her out. "Hurry, I want to eat ten!"
After eating, Juniper lay on the sofa, munching on the fruit platter Camilla had prepared, and watching her favorite show. It was pure comfort!
At ten o'clock at night, Juniper left reluctantly.
Camilla tried to persuade her to stay, saying, "Are you sure you don't want to stay the night?"
Juniper refused, "I have a date tomorrow. If I sleep in and then go back to change, I might be late."
"Alright." Camilla saw her to the door.
Juniper walked out of the alley, ready to call a car, when she suddenly saw a familiar car parked by the roadside.
She walked over and tentatively knocked on the window.
Simon woke up with a start!
Juniper crossed her arms and looked down at him. "What's going on with you?"
