Chapter 87 Camilla Hit Her

Alistair shot back, "Lemme run it by Bella first..."

"Run it by her?" Zoey's voice dropped. "Run what by her? You're the man of the house! Do you really need to ask your wife for such a simple decision?"

"Mom, it's not about that. It's just basic respect to let Bella know."

"Spineless! Go ahead and talk to her. It's best if she agrees, but if not, it doesn't matter. Your dad and I are coming over tomorrow no matter what!"

With that, Zoey slammed the phone down.

Alistair felt stuck.

"What happened? Who was that?" Bella asked, walking in from the yard, seeing Alistair scratching his head.

"Mom."

"What did she say?"

"She's coming over tomorrow."

"Great," Bella smiled slightly, "Let's invite Maurice, Donna, Jared, Heather, and Laura too."

The next morning, Bella hit the supermarket to grab groceries.

By 4 PM, everyone had rolled in.

Heather looked around as she walked in, feeling a pang of jealousy.

She knew Alistair's family lived in a swanky villa, but seeing it in person was a whole different ball game.

Even the usually chatty and pretentious Heather was stunned into silence.

It wasn't until Jared nudged her that Heather managed to say, "Congrats, Alistair, Bella."

Patricia had tagged along too. She looked at Bella and asked, "Can I take a look around?"

"Of course."

Patricia wandered around the living room for a bit and then vanished.

Maurice was too busy to come, but Donna did.

Not only did she come, but she also brought a gift for Bella, smiling as she said, "This villa looks amazing, congrats."

Bella tried to refuse but couldn't, so she accepted it.

"Thanks."

"We're family, no need to be so formal."

Ryan and Zoey came with Donna. They plopped down on the main sofa and started checking out the villa's interior.

They exchanged a glance, both seeing the shock and amazement in each other's eyes.

This villa was way more luxurious than their current townhouse!

The built-in decor was top-notch, and Camilla had added her own touches over time.

From the walls and cabinets to the carpets and ornaments, everything was handpicked by her and Bella.

How could it not be exquisite?

"Alistair, this house must've cost a fortune, right?" Ryan cleared his throat and asked.

Alistair had no intention of bragging. "All these decorations were bought online by Bella and Camilla. I don't know the exact prices, but they shouldn't be expensive. We didn't spend much."

"Really? You didn't spend much and got such a big villa?" Heather laughed, quickly recovering from her shock. "Dad, this house must be at least four million dollars. Scary, right? Even if Jared and I worked for decades, we couldn't afford it."

Laura hadn't smiled or spoken since she walked in. Hearing this, she snorted, "Thanks to Alistair having a good daughter, others can only envy."

"Yeah," Heather immediately chimed in, "Camilla is not only beautiful but also filial and capable of making money. She is outstanding. Patricia certainly can't learn that."

Heather's words seemed harmless but had a weird edge to them.

Donna's eyes flickered. "I didn't know what Camilla does in Imperial City. Must be something special, right? Ordinary folks don't just make millions."

Camilla frowned, and Bella squeezed her hand, signaling to let her handle it.

"You're joking. After college, Camilla didn't go for more studies but didn't slack off either. She switched jobs a few times and saved up."

Laura sneered. "It's good if she saved it herself. The worry is she might go astray."

Bella's face stayed calm. "Thanks for your concern, Laura, but Camilla's grown and has her own plans. As parents, we just support her."

Heather raised an eyebrow. "Plans? So, Camilla's got something in mind? Going back to Imperial City for a job? Or looking for a new target? Gonna bring back another few million next year?"

When she said "target," Heather dragged the word, making her insinuation clear.

Bella's face darkened, ready to clap back, but Camilla's phone rang.

"Mom, I need to take this call."

"Go ahead." Bella took a deep breath, holding back her temper.

"Juniper, what's up? Something wrong?"

Juniper's voice was urgent. "The grad exam results are out! Check your scores quick to see if you passed."

Camilla realized it was indeed today!

She'd been so busy she forgot.

"Okay, I'll check right away." She hung up and rushed upstairs.

Back in her room, she opened her laptop, entered the query page, and quickly typed in her exam number and password. Just as she was about to hit enter—

"Camilla, are all these bags real?"

Suddenly, a voice came from the walk-in closet.

Camilla was startled to see Patricia coming out with a Chanel bag, also carrying a classic LV bag.

"Who let you in here?"

Patricia was taken aback. "Bella said I could look around."

"Looking around doesn't mean rummaging through my stuff."

"What do you mean, Camilla? They're just bags. Can't I even look at them? Are they that precious?"

Camilla's face turned cold. "We were taught from a Moore age not to take other people's things."

"So what if I take them? Can't I?"

"No, you can't."

"I'll take them today. What are you gonna do about it? Aren't they just bought by some man? Why act so high and mighty? In the end, you're just a cheap woman!"

Camilla raised her hand and slapped her.

"This slap is to teach you not to be so foul-mouthed, or you'll get beaten."

"You dare hit me?!" Patricia's eyes widened in disbelief, trembling with anger.

"Yes, I hit you. So what?"

"Camilla! You asked for this!"

Downstairs, everyone was still chatting, the topic never straying far from Camilla.

Everyone was trying to figure out how Camilla made her money.

Even Ryan and Zoey were subtly probing.

At that moment, a scream came from upstairs.

Heather's face changed, and she jumped up. "It's Patricia! Patricia is screaming!"
