Chapter 133 I Wouldn't Give you a Second Look

Leopold shut off the water, threw on his robe, and just as the shadow was about to reach the door, he yanked it open, crashing right into the sneaky Amara.

"Who let you in here?"

Leopold's eyes blazed with anger.

"I told you, you're not allowed in this room. Don't you get it? How dare you!"

Feeling the chill from Leopold, Amara's hands and feet went numb. "I came to bring you some..."

"You think I don't know what you're up to?" Leopold sneered, his words cutting deep. "Just because we hooked up a few times, you think you're special? I've seen plenty of women like you. With a snap of my fingers, they come running like dogs. What makes you any different?"

"Even if you stood naked in front of me, I wouldn't give you a second look."

Leopold glared down at her with disdain. "Do you know why?"

Amara was trembling, covering her ears and shaking her head frantically. "No, I don't want to hear it. Don't say it, please don't say it!"

"Can't handle the truth? Then stay out of my way. You disgust me. Get out!"

Amara ran off crying.

Leopold flipped the tray she had brought.

That night, Amara lay awake until morning, her pillow soaked with tears, her mind replaying Leopold's cold and ruthless words.

She thought, 'Why?

'I'm carrying his child; shouldn't he be treating me better?

'Or is he still hung up on Camilla, wanting to get back with her?'

Amara couldn't stay in bed any longer. She jumped up and angrily kicked over the nightstand.

Early in the morning, Mira had just finished cleaning the master bedroom. The mess was disgusting!

Then she heard a loud noise from the adjacent bedroom.

She thought, 'These people are so annoying!

'A bunch of lunatics!

'They probably think we're just robots, don't they? I really want to smack each one of them!'

But then she thought about her paycheck, and Mira instantly calmed down. She walked to the door of the adjacent bedroom and listened, "Amara? Are you awake? Elodie just called and asked me to remind you to have breakfast on time. Amara?"

There was no response from inside, which puzzled Mira.

She thought, 'Wasn't she just making a racket? Why is it so quiet now?'

Mira was about to leave when suddenly, the door opened, and a weak voice came through. "Mira, my stomach hurts!"

Amara's face was pale, one hand clutching her stomach, her forehead covered in cold sweat. This time it didn't look fake, and Mira panicked.

She immediately took out her phone to call for help. "What's the driver's number again?"

She slapped her forehead. "Damn! The driver is off today. I'll call an ambulance right now. Amara, hang in there."

Amara was both angry and anxious. "How long will it take for the ambulance to get here? My stomach hurts so much. Will I be okay?"

Mira didn't know; she had never called an ambulance before!

Just then, another maid walked by, noticed the situation, and immediately turned to get her phone. "I'll call Elodie right away!"

In no time, the whole villa was bustling with activity.

Half an hour later, the ambulance arrived.

Amara was taken to the ambulance, accompanied by two maids, while everyone else sighed in relief.

Amara was finally gone, and they could have some peace.

Elodie got the news and rushed to the hospital.

"How's my grandchild? Is my grandchild okay?"

She searched for a while before finding Amara and the doctor in the emergency room.

The doctor said, "Are you a family member? We've already checked her out. There's no major issue, just some emotional fluctuations causing false labor contractions. She needs to stay calm."

Elodie sighed in relief. "Good. Does she need any medication?"

The doctor shook his head. "She's fine. No need for meds. Just take her home and let her rest."

Elodie pursed her lips.

She finally realized that Amara was making a big deal out of nothing.

Amara lay on the hospital bed, feeling a bit guilty.

She had just been upset, and her stomach hurt badly, which scared her. It turned out there was nothing wrong.

Elodie took a deep breath and, for the sake of the child Amara was carrying, held back her anger.

In the hospital room, she couldn't help but issue a warning, "You better behave and stop causing trouble! You know what the consequences will be!"

Amara shrank back, not daring to speak loudly. "I understand."

Elodie glared at her and stormed off.

After being busy in the lab for a while, Camilla suddenly received a call from Aurora.

Aurora asked her to come over next week to meet someone.

Camilla noticed that Aurora didn't sound as energetic as usual, which made her suspicious. And why wait until next week when she was free this week?

"Okay." Camilla agreed but secretly took the subway over that afternoon.

Last time she was there to tend to the plants, Aurora had given her a house key and insisted she keep it for convenience.

Now it came in handy.

As soon as she opened the door, she smelled a faint herbal scent. She changed her shoes and walked in. Before she could say anything, the housekeeper who often cooked at Aurora's house exclaimed in surprise, "Camilla? Why are you here? Didn't Aurora say you were coming next week?"

"Who's here?"

Aurora, probably hearing some noise, slowly walked over with a cane.

Seeing this, Camilla's face darkened. "Is this why you didn't want me to come this week?"

Aurora felt a bit guilty. She had told Camilla to come next week, not expecting it to raise suspicion.

"It's just an old problem, nothing serious. I went to the hospital a few days ago. It's just rheumatism acting up. A few days of rest will be fine."

Camilla said, "Rheumatism so bad that you need a cane? How can that get better in a few days?"

Seeing that she couldn't fool her, Aurora coughed.

The housekeeper smiled. "I'll leave you two to talk. I'll go tidy up the kitchen and bring some fruit."

Once she left, only the teacher and student were left in the living room.

Camilla, no longer holding back, rolled up Aurora's pant leg to find her calf severely swollen, especially around the joints.

Camilla was genuinely angry. "Didn't you say you saw a doctor? Which hospital? Which doctor? I need to talk to them. How can this not be serious? It's not going to magically disappear in a few days!"

Aurora sighed. "Alright, alright, I get it. You're indirectly scolding me. I admit it, I didn't go to the hospital. I just got some medicine. Happy now?"

"Getting old means having all sorts of little problems. If I spent all my time in the hospital, wouldn't that be a waste?"

"I didn't want you to worry, so I didn't tell you. Who knew you were so sharp, nothing gets past you."

Aurora gently patted Camilla's head, her eyes full of affection. "If it were you, you wouldn't want to either. The lab is much more interesting than the hospital, right?"
