Chapter 255 Refusing to Spare Him a Glance

Simon recalled the time when Amara's biological mother and her delinquent brother caused a scene at Leopold's company. Fortunately, the child was gone; otherwise, Elodie would have been really devastated.

Simon clicked his tongue. Soon, the driver he had arranged arrived.

"Sir! Please wait a moment!" Simon was about to get into the back seat when the restaurant manager called out to him.

"What's the matter?"

"Well, our staff found a shawl and a brooch in the private room. It seems a lady left them behind."

Camilla's family had left early, and the manager only saw Simon, who had dined with them, so he called out to him.

"Give them to me. I'll pass them on to her."

"Alright, thank you."

Simon took the shawl and casually placed it in the back seat, planning to have it delivered to Camilla the next day.

"Let's go."

"Okay."

On the way, Oliver called. "Why aren't you here yet? What time is it? We're all waiting for you!" The background noise was a bit loud.

"Hold on; I'm on my way!"

Simon asked for the address and directed the driver to head there.

Oliver came out to meet him at the Slide Club, putting an arm around his shoulder as they walked in. "In such a hurry, did you just crawl out of some woman's bed?"

"Don't talk nonsense."

Oliver smirked. "Do you think I believe that?"

"I have a girlfriend; don't spread rumors."

"Aren't you pretending to be a couple?" Oliver said with a grin.

Simon's smile froze, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. "Who told you that?"

"Juniper."

"When?"

Oliver thought for a moment before saying, "Probably last weekend? I went to play tennis and saw her with a guy on the next court. They seemed pretty close."

The man was teaching Juniper how to serve, and they were practically glued together.

Oliver couldn't sit still. He rolled up his sleeves and went to punch the guy.

"Turns out you two are faking it. I almost beat the guy up for nothing."

Oliver nudged Simon's shoulder. "You're good at this, finding Juniper to help you deal with your family. Why can't I find someone like that?"

By the time they entered the private room, Simon's face was still dark.

Oliver was puzzled. Simon was fine when they first came in, but his expression suddenly changed. When asked, he wouldn't say anything and just kept drinking.

Leopold asked, "What's wrong with him?"

Oliver shook his head, spreading his hands. "No idea; he just suddenly became like this."

"Boring," Leopold said, standing up and grabbing his coat. "I'm leaving."

"Come on. We just got everyone together, and you're leaving already?"

Leopold glanced at Simon and said, "Not interested in watching someone drink alone."

As he stood up, Simon also put down his glass and followed suit. "Yeah, this is boring. I'm leaving."

"Wait." Oliver looked at both of them. "Are you two competing? Leaving one after the other."

Leopold and Simon left at the same time. Oliver looked at the empty room. " Hold on!"

Outside, they had been drinking and each took out their phones to call for a driver.

While waiting, Oliver felt the urge to smoke. He had a cigarette in his mouth but couldn't find his lighter. He asked Simon for one, who pointed to the car. "Back seat; get it yourself."

Oliver opened the car door and bent down to look inside. "Here it is."

He lit his cigarette and handed the lighter back to Simon.

Remembering the shawl he saw in the back seat, he smirked. "Since when do you like having sex in the car?"

Simon looked puzzled.

"You know what I mean. Otherwise, where did the shawl come from? Only women use those, and it's yellow. Come on, which woman left it?"

Simon twitched his lips. "Stop talking nonsense."

"Not admitting it, huh? That's not like you."

"That's Camilla's mom's. I'm planning to return it to her tomorrow. What are you guessing? Your mind is full of filth."

Oliver was surprised. "How did her stuff end up in your car?"

Leopold couldn't help but listen intently.

Simon was about to explain but then changed his mind, seeing Oliver and Leopold's curiosity. He smiled and decided not to say anything.

"Well, there's a reason for it."

Oliver pressed. "What reason?"

"Why do you need to know so much? Does it concern you?"

Oliver replied, "Of course it does! I haven't heard from Camilla in a while. Last time I broke my leg and was in the hospital for over a month, Camilla came to visit. She cares about me, so I should pay more attention to her, right?"

"Camilla visited you?" Simon suddenly raised his voice, keeping an eye on Leopold.

Seeing Leopold slightly turn his head, Simon raised an eyebrow, pretending to be nonchalant but actually eavesdropping.

Oliver said, "Of course! Camilla is very good to me!"

Simon nodded in agreement. "Camilla is indeed nice. She even treated me to a seafood dinner tonight."

This made Oliver even more curious. "Why did Camilla treat you to dinner? Come on; spill it."

Simon said, "Well."

Oliver looked expectant.

"There must be a reason!"

Oliver was speechless. He might as well keep quiet.

Just then, Simon's driver arrived. "See you later, I'm leaving."

Oliver waved nonchalantly. Leopold, however, kept staring at Simon's car until it was completely out of sight before looking away.

Why could Camilla be close with Marcus, visit Oliver in the hospital, and even have dinner with Simon and her parents? But she wouldn't even look at him?

"Leopold? Leopold!"

Oliver called him a few times before he responded. "What did you say?"

"I asked if you're going home or somewhere else?"

Leopold didn't answer but suddenly asked, "Got a cigarette?"

"Yeah." Oliver immediately pulled one out and handed it over.

But with the lighter back to Simon, Leopold took the cigarette and just played with it, his eyes flickering. "Oliver, do you think I'm wrong?"
