Chapter 265 If I Had Known, I Should Have Held Back
After Simon left, Juniper looked disdainfully at the tableware on the table. She thought, 'I should have made him clean up before he left.'
"Hey, get me a two-hour housekeeper. Yes, clean everything inside and out, make it all spotless, especially the sofa."
After slamming the door, Simon drove recklessly fast back to his place.
Once inside, Simon immediately stripped and took a shower, trying to wash away the scent from yesterday. But for some reason, even after the shower, a faint trace of Juniper's unique feminine fragrance still lingered in his nostrils.
"Fuck!" Simon angrily kicked the sofa.
Immediately, images of last night's wild entanglement on the sofa and then in the master bedroom flashed through his mind.
Simon couldn't figure out why Juniper, who had been so passionate and teasing the night before, turned cold and heartless the next morning.
And she even ate the instant noodles he cooked!
In his twenty-some years, it was the first time Simon had ever cooked for a woman, even if it was just two bowls of instant noodles. It was rare, and she turned on him right after eating!
Simon kicked the sofa again, and this time it hurt. "Even you are against me!" he muttered, kicking it a few more times in defiance.
Thinking about how she wanted to end the relationship, Simon took out his phone and blocked all of Juniper's contacts.
After doing all this, he threw the phone on the sofa and was about to go to his room to lie down when the doorbell rang.
Simon's heart skipped a beat, and his breath caught.
Even if she came after him to apologize, it didn't mean he would forgive her. He had his pride too!
She would have to lower her head, sincerely pour him a drink, and softly admit her mistake before he would consider accepting her apology! Otherwise, he would ignore her!
Simon opened the door. "Realize your mistake, huh... Mom?"
Natalia stood at the door with a smile, stunned by his words. "Realized what mistake?"
Simon's heart, already on edge, suddenly sank and broke into pieces. "Mom, it's you."
"Who else would it be? Juniper? I just talked to her on the phone. She said you weren't with her, so I guessed you must be back at the apartment."
Simon lay limply on the sofa, looking listless.
Natalia was surprised. "Why do you look so down?"
"Do I? I don't think so."
"Don't lie; you sound weak."
"Mom, what do you need? You came all the way here, aren't you tired?"
Natalia's eyes lit up as she remembered her purpose.
She took out several jewelry boxes from her bag and lined them up on the coffee table.
Simon looked puzzled. "What are you doing?"
"These are some pieces of jewelry I took out from the bank's safe this morning. You give them to Juniper and tell her they're from me."
"Why are you giving her these? She might not even care! She's seen all kinds of good stuff! She'll just throw them away, always looking for something new, selfish and greedy."
"What are you saying?" Natalia glared at him. "If you keep talking about Juniper like that, you'll regret it!"
"Mom, get it straight, I'm your son. And Juniper is just an outsider."
Natalia retorted, "She's the daughter-in-law I've chosen. No one can bully her, including you."
Simon's eyes and nose tingled with emotion. He turned away, hugging his arms, and muttered, "She has high standards. She won't care about your stuff." He thought, 'And she doesn't care about me either!'
"That's true," Natalia nodded, "Juniper does have high standards, but she has the right to pursue better things, unlike you."
Simon turned back abruptly, shouting in anger, "I'm your son! Your own flesh and blood!"
"I know. I'll leave the stuff here. Find a chance to give it to Juniper. Soon, got it?"
Simon didn't respond.
Natalia grabbed his ear. "Did you hear me?"
"It hurts! I got it!"
"And next weekend, I've arranged a tea party. Bring Juniper over and introduce her to my friends!"
"Is that necessary?" Simon's eyes flickered. The relationship was over, and he had blocked her contacts. How could he bring her?
Natalia's face darkened. "Of course! Just do it, no more nonsense! Alright, I have plans to go shopping. Remember to call Juniper later."
Simon nodded.
Natalia finally left, satisfied.
Meanwhile, Simon was troubled, while Juniper continued her routine, working, relaxing, going to bars, and playing sports as usual.
Cynthia called Juniper, "You've been with Simon from the Miller Family for a while now. I've met him, but when will you officially bring him home to meet the whole family?"
Juniper immediately moved her phone away. "Mom, what did you say? The signal is weak here, I can't hear you clearly. I'll call you back later!"
She hung up, the whole process smooth.
But after putting down the phone, Juniper looked at her cocktail and fell into deep thought.
Cynthia wanted to officially introduce Simon to the Russell Family, which meant she was quite satisfied with him. Too bad, the relationship was already over.
Juniper was already worried about finding a new partner of similar caliber to satisfy Cynthia. If only she had restrained herself that night, she wouldn't have lost such a good partner.
Camilla knew nothing about what happened between Juniper and Simon.
After attending an academic summit, Aurora received an invitation to another academic seminar and went to Silverlight City after only a couple of days' rest. But this time, Aurora took Camilla with her.
They were gone for five days, and the experiment progress fell behind. So, as soon as Camilla returned, she headed straight to the lab.
However, she found the lab door closed, and Hestia and Royce sitting in the hallway like two homeless people.
